GOOD MORNING HAWAII!
Uno?
No lunch for the keiki (June 23-24)?
tom mui:
Nice catch. Yes, there is lunch for the keiki.
Good morning ST and Mr. Mui!
many campus to chose from – go UH!!!
Let’s hear it for all the big men of Hawaii from age one to 99!
You done good.
Good morning Tsaikos.
Good morning to the Horita household. And have a good vacation ST.
I like how they are expanding the camps and going to regional locations. Hopefully, it increases the participation.

If the mountain won’t come to Muhammad …
Aloha All! Damn these buggahs got a lot of outfits: http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2014/05/collaborative_work_leads_to_or.html#incart_most-read
ST any information regarding Graduate assistants for 2014?
Good morning, Tsaikos. Nice to see that the camp fees are so reasonable. Not a bad deal at all!
Good morning Tsaikos,
Have an awesome day, remember outdoor sirens testing this morning, no get nuts….
Connections leads to recruits. Recruits lead to improvements. Improvements lead to wins. Wins lead to exposure. Exposure leads to interests. Interests lead to inquiries. Inquires lead to more participation. Participation leads to connections!
Guud Morning Tsaikos…bootiful day.
#13…yes it’s the cycle of success…..Ahui ho erry body..till next week.
man starting to get withdrawals already…no blog for a week?!?!?@#@?!
ST:
will all the football coaches be in attendance to answer questions from participants?
will HAL, being a good corporate sponsor, be “comping” the flights to Maui and Big Island?
any way to same some $$$.
NSF:
now, I have to spend all my time at work at work.
boss would be happy to see me not blogging
baahhh
I will presume that the coaching staff does not see any future recruits on Kauai.
Good morning everyone!
ST — on your “closed for a week” blog entry tomorrow, how about showing a pix or cartoon or something? A lot of people will see it as they (and me) will check in by habit for the next few days. 🙄
Please keep blog open, no need to post anything except maybe the “Day 1 of ST’s fabulous vacation”, “Day 2 of ST’s fabulous vacation”, etc.
Hard to break the Warrior Beat habit. Going to have withdrawals.
ahouse…hal and uhad have a contra account. in exchange for advertisement and other marketing efforts hal does not bill uhad for flight accomodations. marketing dollar value for flight travel dollar value.
perhaps, there is some real cash involved as well.
no “comps”, this is business.
ahouse…presume or assume?
why don’t you purchase a smart phone and use it to blog?
but, please go to the restroom to hide out.
no like see you get busted.
#22 “why don’t you purchase a smart phone and use it to blog?”
A small tablet or iPad would do the same.
I noticed that I have been using – in addition to my iMac on my desk, that I have been using a tablet more than my MacPro laptop computer.
23…but, ahouse needs to do this discreetly. a smart phone is smaller and less conspicuous. okay, if your eyes are bad…i understand.
AL – being a cheap Pake, I figure that a Fire HDX Kindle is about $300 without you buying the service plan – just use free Wi-Fi. If you have Oceanic service, use their Wi-Fi at no extra cost.
An iPhone will cost you about $200 to get the phone and about $1,000 to get the phone service and texting, message etc.
And, assuming you are not a technology nut, the tablet is a one-time thing whereas the phone service you are stuck with.
Being a cheap Pake, I have a unintelligent phone – only used as a phone – if I can find where I put it.
Any wide open blog like the Warrior Beat needs much supervision and “maintenance”. Tsai-ko guest hosts–no problem. But ST says he cannot (by company policy) pass out “delete” keys, he must monitor with little help nowadays.
So, I do not begrudge him a vacation from tending the blog, even if he has (and he does) the means to run it from anywhere in the world…. errrr, anywhere he can go without a passport. 👿
tommui…i have an ipad 3 that i bought for half price from a businessman who wanted the newer model. it was 6 months old. wifi version.
i am not pake, but am thrifty, although did have a couple of pake gf’s. except for when it comes to food, i can be quite a pake.
Hope for a good turnout. This is where UH needs to start identifying and building rapport with future recruits.
Above all else, hope everybody has fun.
Al
Nothing wrong being pake,
Been that all my life, except dad thinks I spend like an American I
AL:
When shall we explore Hamburger Co.?
tommmui — I’ve been seeing a lot TV ads about “unlimited voice (anytime), text, and 10 GB of data” to share–basically for 2 people for $130 (add $15 per extra line/person”. There might be better deals, and the phone cost may vary.
Knowing A-House, I think a tablet or iPad would be better for him.
A-House — if you get an iPad, I’d like to be with you when you ask your network tech for access to the company WIFI network (for my amusement only).
Okay. I’m gonna do my best to get through this blog week off thing.
I will not be sad when the blog is gone for a week.
I will not be sad when the blog is gone for a week.
I will not be sad when the blog is gone for a week.
I will not be sad when the blog is gone for a week.
I will not be sad when the blog is gone for a week.
Okay, that’s a lie! I AM GOING TO MISS THE BLOG!!!
Waaaaaahhhhhhh!!! Waaaaaahhhhhhhhh! I want the blog not to be gone!!! Waaaaahhhh!!!! 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁
Cheer up, Kid — maybe there’s a burger cattle call coming up…
I’ll pick you up.
Whatever happened to the guy that used to “guest host” the blog a while back? I believe he was a local guy that now lives in Seattle? I notice he doesn’t post on the blog anymore…
In lieu of ST’s blog during his vacation period just go post on another ‘tizer blog that isn’t heavily moderated. Preferably a blog where the blog owner doesn’t get his feelings hurt too easily.
Like I said, it’s only a week. Most of you have been celibate longer than that. 😉
How about ‘Show and Tell Hawaii’? Wayne Harada’s last blog had only one comment. We could temporarily boost his ratings.
Tom Mui’s was the only comment. Here is the link-

al #21:
I prefer “presume” rather than ASSUME!
guys, I have a techno deficiency so I don’t understand the “lingo’ being bantered around.
I got a Droid and use it only for taking pics of my jackpots, which has been sorely lacking lately, and for emergency to locate family in LV
if I have other “features” I need MasaBoy to show me how to set it up and use – for example “weather channel” or road maps/directions, etc. I prefer an IBM selectric type writer.
STEVEM #31
It is a Verizon ad BUT that is per month or over $1,500 a year.
I’m always amazed (and envious) at teenagers and young yuppies paying that kind of $$ so that they can communicate to the world that they are crossing the street at Kapiolani and Keeamoku (or whatever) texting without watching the fact that the light is against them!
Envious because that kind of kala buys a lot of hamburgers!
Yes Tommui, before you know it they’ll be twerking. What’s twerking?
we had the boss’ burgers on friday nite.
ahouse…now i see why you are having problems. for instance, do you really no what “techno” id?
maybe go google it.
The Board of Regents just appointed David Lassner, who will become UH System’s 15th president.
has this been posted yet?
Bowwar
Was it Wafan in Seattle?
Thanks ai-eee-soo!
Congrats to David Lassner!
I as cheering for Lassner since I had met and learned from him personally in the 1990’s in UH-DOE internet and distance learning workshops. Just in our bantering today, we are talking about smart phones and tablets… technology and education has evolved a long way and I think it will make one more leap. David Lassner was there on the Technology leading edge for the UH when it started, and I think he is best equipped to lead it into the near future. This knowledge and leadership affects all departments and campuses as more courses and programs go online more elaborately.
I did not know how he stood on UH athletics until last week, but his support is a bonus for us.
Congrats to KCC Culinary School!….Top 20!
now if they could only do the food for The Stanley, The Les and RWSS…
Bowwar and Chopsueyboy — as I recall, the only substitute blog host (who worked at the Honolulu Advertiser and had a “delete” button) was basketball guru Dayton Morinaga. Think he did it for 5 days when ST was on vacation.
Before that, he tried Ferd Lewis (who was a no-show) but Editor Curtis Murayama stepped up. Brother Mike (Tsai), an excellent H-A writer, is also known to have a “delete” button but was never an official host.
However, guest hosts (without delete buttons) included: Al, Bulla, Da Punchbowl Kid, Liz Kauai, Doris Sullivan (PIAA), Colomaohana (Mrs. C), and another gentleman who won a contest (sorry, no time to search for that in the archives right now).
ST, have a great and safe vacation. You worked hard for it. Enjoy!!!!!
Enjoy your vacation ST…I’m sure we’ll have withdrawals and pester other Boards, but we’ll survive.
Steve: There was another Blog participant who acted as a blog host for a week or so…The guy’s name escapes me and I haven’t seen him post in quite awhile…All I know was he graduated from Castle H.S. and lives in the Pacific NW. Also, reputedly a software/computer guru of sorts.
Great Evening All!
Have a terrific vacay Blog Host!
Da ressa y’all just ruminate for a bit…
… “Call the AD ” … on 1420, Tues @ 6 p.m.
Happy Vacation Stephen Tsai! Safe travels!
The biggest issue on Chow this year will be how the team performs in the second half of the game, especially the 3rd quarter. I thought that was the weakness of the team last year. They would put up a tough fight in the first half and come out flat footed after. If we can play well in the 3rd and ride a momentum into the 4th, the team will do well.
Howzit Tsaikos!
Have a great vacay, ST.
#35 – well, that eliminates most of the other sports blogs. 🙄
#54 – IIRC, Mack’s teams had 3Q problems also.
Inyoface — was it Dick Tomey who always said, “I hope we play well enough to have a chance to win it in the 4th quarter”?
Enjoy your vacation ST!!!
