SDSU upsets CSU, ticket info for 1st-2nd round
A nice win for the Aztecs tonight. Deitre has a few photos on FB from the bus ride back.
first loss for the Rams this season, and it was at Moby. 15-25, 18-25, 25-21, 27-25, 15-13. CSU now 27-1, 18-1
Been told that season ticket holders have been mailed notices as to how to hold their seats for possible first-second rounds. Order deadline was Dec. 1 … which I find odd since that’s the day of the announcement and it’s a Sunday. (more likely Monday, Dec. 2)
Tickets to the public would go on sale Tuesday, Dec. 3.
I’m assuming that UH would put in to host Friday-Saturday to make sure teams have the time to be here by mandated Thursday practice at the venue.

Great job Dietre. Not the season they hoped for but they have improved since the start.
Well, done D! Got your message across and got your team believin’. Good luck in tournament. Aloha. Takin’ it to the next level, hooray!
Maybe UH has some inside info on hosting hence the Dec 1 date but I’m more inclined to believe it’s just another one of their classic screw ups.
On RPI
I’m tracking all the teams that affect our RPI this week and so far it’s 3 wins and 3 losses.
Also keeping track of Rich Kern’s Projected RPI just because he’s so darn good at it. So far he has Hawai`i ending 15th in the RPI,not a good place to be IMO considering the selection committee’s reputation.
Who is CSU?
Colorado State University Rams
3. or maybe the person who texted me last night put down the wrong date?
i never saw the note to the ticket holders.
deadline for season ticket holders is 1 Dec 2013 to reserve & pay for tickets/2 ways – via web site or go down to the Stan Sheriff/like before, if UH does not host, payment will not be processed. Pick up for tickets will be 2 Dec at noon/tickets for public will go on sale on 3 dec/
based on letter i got from UH to reserve/pay for my regular season seat
thank you. As I said, I did not see the letter. just thought Dec. 1 was odd since it was a Sunday.
i think if hawaii finishes top 16 in the rpi, then the “nitty gritty” of the schedule (i.e., record against top 25 rpi teams (3-1), and top 50 rpi teams (6-2)) is more than enough to get them a seed. no other “bubble” teams can boast that kind of a record against the top teams in the rpi.
rich kern’s estimate that hawaii will finish 15 in the rpi bodes well. although, it’s an estimation … i desperately want to believe it … 🙂
also, tracking the progress of hawaii’s non-conference teams in this final week of the regular season — as lc mentions above — is worthwhile. many of them, like creighton, portland st, wichita st, and new mexico st — are in their respective conference tournaments. it’s a good chance for them to pick up “extra wins” which will help boost hawaii’s rpi.
~~ On the Regular Season’s Final NCAA RPI, which will be released to the public on Dec. 2/Monday but which will be made available to the NCAA Championship Volleyball Committee prior to Dec. 1/Selection Sunday ~~
Others on this blog will be posting about the Big West matches. So I’ve decided to list the last matches of all of UH’s non-conference opponents since these results will have a direct affect on UH’s RPI, which currently stands at RPI #11 (and said by others on this blog to be dropping fast).

10) You forgot Northwestern
Wed.Nov. 27 Lost to Illinois 3-0
Sat.Nov. 30 vs. No. 13 Wisconsin
Re: 11 [Didn’t forget the Wildcats but my mouse did as the copy & paste skipped. But thanks LC, hope you had a nice gobble gobble day.]
NORTHWESTERN (16-15, 8-11 Big Ten)
Nov. 25 RPI: # 57 (so after Wichita St in the above list)
Post-Nov. 25 Matches:
* See 11 above
Note: Currently 8th in the 10-team Big Ten. Big Ten had a contingent of 7 teams in 2012, and I see the same number this year with PSU, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Illinois hosting a subregional.
All in all, the quality of UH’s non-conf. opposition shows why the Wahine deserve to be among the nation’s elite 16 seeds, as 3 of these teams have won their league and 3 more could win their conference.
Re: 12
Thanksgiving hangover — meant “12-team Big Ten”
Wait…we have to pick up our tickets on Dec. 2? They won’t hold it until the day of the game?
14. What does your letter say? I don’t have access to a copy.
I was looking at who is on the selection committee this year, east coast well represented.

14. sharene. pick up STARTS on Dec 2 noon. You can pick it up at will call on game day.
Not gonna get my hopes up for hosting that will just make me mad if they are sent to the mainland.
