VB signings
Punahou’s Kupono Fey and Kalaheo’s Nainoa Frank today made official what they had promised for months, signing letters of intent with the volleyball Warriors.
They join a 2013-14 class that also includes setter Jennings Franciskovic and opposite Dane Keckin.
The Warriors already have secured oral commitments from 2014-14 players Tui Tuileta of Punahou, Luke Owens of Kalaheo and Kama Paio of Hawaii Prep.

It’s fairly impressive to get commitments from two Punahou players. That doesn’t happen very often in men’s volleyball.

Kupono Fey’s mom and aunt coached Screecher way back when for a team in the Manoa Girls Athletic Club minors. (The year before, Screecher’s coaches were Nanci Coolen, Lori Santi and another Punahou PE teacher.)
Mr. A-house – your original dates were good. 2014 and 2015 seasons. It is 2013, you know.
I think kids will look at UH as a good school to attend. Even on a schollie it’s still expensive to send your kid to the mainland. I was doing the numbers the other night. If you send your keiki to Punahou or Iolani, from K-12, the current total in tuition would be about 338K including books. That’s a lot of money!!! No wonder parents are can’t affor college.

went to an hour of practice yesterday after my L&L b-fast. I was very surprised at what i saw. the offensive players look exhausted. it appears that the coach is more interested in getting plays in , than getting players instruction and getting a good try at the play. just an observation. i never played football so i am open to constructive observations.
why not slow down and give the players a chance to learn and catch a breath?

Approaching midnight and time for some nostalgia and music … the following video is Jose & Patti, who specialize in oldies music. All the shots here are on cruise ships, where they perform 6-8 months per year and do land gigs.
