Brrrr … it's cold in here

Although snow is forecast for Thursday and Friday in Fort Collins, Colo., it should be dry for Saturday’s game between UH and Colorado State.

Dry, but chilly.

Temperatures are expected to be in the low 40s at kickoff, with the mercury dipping into the 30s during the game.

* * * * * *

With Art Laurel back to relatively good health and Benny Fonua still on the mend, practice today should feature this No. 1 group of linebackers: Laurel on the weak side, Brenden Daley in the middle and Jerrol Garcia-Williams on the strong side. That could change when Fonua gets back to full health. He is hopeful of playing this week.

    Ohayoooooooooooooooogozaimasu!!!!!!!

Tsai scheduled to appear (per a Bobby Curran on this morning’s Hawaii News Now Sunrise show) on ESPN 1420am.

    So, go listen.

  6. Chicken Grease October 23, 2012 7:26 am

    To help express a Tsai’s “brrrrrrrrrrr”-ness.

How can you just leave me standing?

Alone in a world that’s so cold?

    – Prince and The Revolution, When Doves Cry

MLB World Series starts tomorrow!!!!! 7 Eastern!!!

  7. HawaiiMongoose October 23, 2012 7:27 am

If UH were in bowl contention it wouldn’t make sense to schedule a 13th game, but since six wins is virtually off the table now, why not? Bring on the Nittany Lions!

  8. RedZone October 23, 2012 7:28 am

    Tsai on radio. 1420

It could be TEMPLE UNIVERSITY too I guess….They only have 11 games scheduled this year.

Ok so Tsai said December 8 is the date they are looking at.

    Guess Penn State is it.

  13. Chicken Grease October 23, 2012 7:36 am

If it IS Penn State, allow all the kids who go to the games to sit at the 50 yard line on both side; have a reserved section for them. Have a banner with dark green font — “Hawaii will never forget . . .”

  16. iwonderwhytheyhateme October 23, 2012 7:42 am

I think Tsai just said Mike Edwards might have interest in leaving for the NFL after this year.

I know this is incredibly selfish, but I hope he doesn’t go. Having teams able to run AND pass against us is going to be so sad.

  17. al October 23, 2012 7:49 am

isn’t penn state interested in playing a 13th game, for them, at hawaii?

unless, it is a home and home series, the money game (1 mil) is not a home game but an away game.

  18. Chicken Grease October 23, 2012 7:49 am

    # 14, gigi . . . good to have a transistor radio available, Hawaii being “hurricane season”-involved and all 🙂 . Tell that grandkid to get to school anyways 😛 .

  23. tommui October 23, 2012 7:55 am

    GOOD MORNING HAWAII!

If there is a 13th game, I hope that it will either result in a full stadium – which means it has to be a big-time team or

one that will come on their own dime (i.e. transportation & expenses) and either pay us or come for a minimum so that we can make a profit.

  24. iwonderwhytheyhateme October 23, 2012 7:58 am

  25. Chicken Grease October 23, 2012 8:01 am

December 8 : Penn State University or Temple University

The logistics and planning to put this together is going to be a female dog.

  28. Chicken Grease October 23, 2012 8:06 am

Ah, soo desu . . . Pell Grant is for low-income who have not received their first bachelor’s. Um, ‘ccording to Wikipedia, a drug conviction impedes you from further/additional aid. So, Pell Grantsters need to stay clean.

  34. DaveLetterMan October 23, 2012 8:20 am

    Morning Tsaikos!

Wouldn’t the NCAA disapprove the game if Penn St were to come? Wouldn’t they consider it their bowl game? Looks like it would more likely be Temple.

  35. Stephen Tsai October 23, 2012 8:21 am

If the game were to be played, then I think they might look at a flat-rate fee. It wouldn’t be part of the season-ticket package, I don’t think, although it should be since I believe UH fans already are paying for a seventh home game, right?

  36. Jun Tao October 23, 2012 8:23 am

Denver International Airport is cool. The main terminal is huge with virtually a shopping mall in it. The gates are further away from the main terminal which require you to take a light rail underground to the desired gate location….which i think is pretty cool.

The airport itself was moved from the metro downtown area to about 10 – 20 miles out in open space to accomodate for expansion for the regional areas.

  42. Shoko October 23, 2012 8:48 am

Looks like redshirt freshman Conner Smith is starting this weekend. Should he get hurt during the game, McElwain said his backup will be a 300 lb defensive lineman. And, the backup can’t run, which is a good thing.

  43. Shoko October 23, 2012 8:51 am

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but Rob Akey is looking for a job.

  44. iwonderwhytheyhateme October 23, 2012 8:56 am

TELEVISION: The game will be televised by Time Warner Cable SportsNet in HD, and can be seen in Colorado on KTVD-20, with Kanoa Leahey (play-by-play) and Darnell Arceneaux (analyst) calling the action and Lori Santi reporting from the sidelines.

RADIO: CSU fans can find the radio broadcast on the Colorado State Radio Network, originating from AM 560 KLZ in Denver, with Brian Roth (play-by-play), former Rams great David Anderson (analyst), Kevin McGlue (analyst) and Marty Cesario (sidelines) on the call. I’m not seeing anything in the Breaking News section about a 13th game. But since it is being talked about, didn’t Penn State already get told that they wouldn’t be allowed to add Hawaii to the schedule? I thought it was something that was talked about in the Spring.

  50. madeinhawaii October 23, 2012 9:10 am

Wyoming might need a new HC after this season, too.

Sometimes these coaching changes are like sailors getting a change of underwear on a boat that has been adrift at sea for weeks….

    You! Change with him.

    Jose, you change with me…

    Jonesy… you change with Marcus…

  52. Shoko October 23, 2012 9:13 am

I heard, and this may have changed, that Penn State wouldn’t be able to take advantage of the 13th game exemption while on probation. If the game the infraction occured before the schedule date, that would be the only way they can use that exception.

    Could be wrong, tho.

  53. Chicken Grease October 23, 2012 9:14 am

    Ohayooooooooooooogozaimasu, SteveM.

  54. Shoko October 23, 2012 9:14 am

DeWayne Walker is probably on the hot seat at NMSU. Akey could apply there…

  55. iwonderwhytheyhateme October 23, 2012 9:15 am

    kev-1,

If that is the case Temple just made its way to the front of the line. If we continue our record, I can’t see Temple drawing any kind of crowd.

Does anyone else find it ironic that on the Breaking News page of the SA, there is an article about Hawaii being tops among states least likely to have deer – vehicle mishaps AND an then an article about a man in the hospital because he collided with a deer while on his ATV?

It says the man is in stable condition, so I think it is okay to find the irony humorous.

  87. wafan October 23, 2012 10:52 am

Per the StarAdvertiser on the meat recall:

“A majority (of the meat recalled) include fast-food restaurants such as Rainbow Drive-In, Halawa Korean BBQ and Ala Moana Poi Bowl. Four elementary schools — Honowai Elementary School, Kipapa Elementary, Lehua Elementary and Lunalilo Elementary — also received the ground beef.

  89. Chicken Grease October 23, 2012 11:05 am

The three short film/South Korean offering Doomsday Book, shown at the recently completed — on Oahu, at least — Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) included a sci-f treatment on the warnings of feeding food wastes back to cattle, which would inevitably be consumed by humans (read: would turn such humans into zombies, heh). Made the yakiniku-style kal-bi cooked beef look GOOD in that movie, though, hahahahah.

  90. Hodad October 23, 2012 11:16 am

I also thought that if your were on probation, as PSU is, you couldn’t schedule Hawaii to get around bowl prohibition. Anyone know the facts?

  91. madeinhawaii October 23, 2012 11:18 am

OOOh geeze.. the elementary schools! … Hope none of the kids get sick. That’s scary. Rainbow Drive-In, too. Wonder how many Tsaikos went there over the past week? Since the 17th, they say?

  92. madeinhawaii October 23, 2012 11:18 am

    Hodad,

If it’s not written into the probationary terms, then the teams are not restricted. USC restriction was clearly spelled out.

I went to Blackhawk and Central City and found like 28 casinos – many tiny ones in old rustic buildings from the silver/gold mining days and collected the dollar and $5 slot coins

Second casino I walked into, I met a lady who grew up in the town where the Spam manufacturing plant is located in Minnesota – she knew all about the large consumption of spam in Hawaii – her Dad was an employee there.

Interesting how wearing a Hawaii shirt will be a magnet to former isle residents or students – same happened in San Diego – we met 2 females who were born/raised in Hawaii with family still here and 4 or 5 guys who went to UH – all approached us to say “hello”.

    91. Thats what I heard. Ever since Alabama made use of the Hawaii Exemption, the NCAA loophole to schedule a thirteenth game was closed for schools that were sanctioned.

I thought any beef that was tainted with e-Coli was okay as long as it was cooked thoroughly. Meaning, it can’t be eaten medium rare or raw like beef tartare.

I seem to recall there was mention of Cincinnatti or Pittsburg, along with Temple, as possible schools to schedule a game with Hawai this year.

  97. uppah campus October 23, 2012 11:38 am

    Frankly, I wouldn’t want a 13th game, as the D-line is depleted.

Still got 5 more conference games, hope we have enough manpower to “survive”.

If there is a 13th game, I’d pick UMASS; we kinda in the same boat, W-L wise.

    c.o.l – chuckling out loud.

  98. Slugger October 23, 2012 11:41 am

I thought I read (when they first announced sanctions) that Penn St could not play Hawaii as it was like a Bowl game for them at season’s end. I’d rather watch Temple than host Penn St just because of karma.

It would be sad to have Mike Edwards go next season, but if he can show the scouts outstanding numbers at Pro Say, he might have chance. I want to see these guys finish college , tho.

    Pau Lan-Chow-ah. Laters…

  100. madeinhawaii October 23, 2012 11:46 am

I was surprised to see Nevada lose to San Diego last week.

  101. Shoko October 23, 2012 11:46 am

What I find interesting is that Mike is ranked top ten in every category except interception. He has the numbers for pass defended and kickoff returns, but as far as interceptions, he has yet to log one in that category.

Mike would be better off if he stayed next year, in my opinion. He should also consider if the draft is thin at his position.

  102. Shoko October 23, 2012 11:50 am

Nevada’s pass defense has always been a question mark. No consistency in the secondary and they give up some big plays in pass coverage.

Game would have been a sure win if not for those questional pass interference calls from that one line judge.

  103. Manoa Mist October 23, 2012 11:58 am

    1. Mike Edwards – son you should run for the hills while you can. Best of luck to brother – he can play.

    2. Why would we want another game this year? Another chance to be whupped up on? Tell ’em wait till next year.

    3. Anybody comment on Darnell as a broadcaster? I admit I’m a simpleton, but I really like him. He’s smart. Knows the game. Articulate. Just wish he had better games to call, but again, wait till next year!

  104. Stretch October 23, 2012 11:59 am

Interesting news about a possible 13th game. If they don’t give first choice to season ticket holders to remain in their seats, or don’t allow people with parking passes to use it, I would anticipate a lot of those people not to show up. Going from showing up late and having a parking space and reserved seat, to fighting the crowd for a first come, first served thing, it isn’t going to work.

  105. Pupule Portagee October 23, 2012 12:01 pm

Wait…what ? I’ve been a season ticket holder since 1975. We normally have 7 home games as part of package.

Like ST indicated, season ticket holders are already paying for 7 home games. This year is one of the few where we DON’T have a 13 game schedule. Since 2002 we have had only 3 years with 12 games.

    2002 10-3 – 13 games

    2003 9-4 – 13 games

    2004 7-6 – 13 games

    2005 5-7 – 12 games

    2006 10-3 – 13 games

    2007 12-0 – 12 Games

    2008 7-6 – 13 games

    2009 6-7 – 13 games

    2010 10-3 – 13 games

    2011 6-7 – 13 games

    2012 ?-? – 12 games

Maybe i’m missing something, but why would Penn State be different?

  106. Braddah Kimo October 23, 2012 12:09 pm

    45-10 Colorado State.

UH’s score will be from defensive score and field goal. No points by offense.

I do not even know how I finished up right here, however I assumed this post used to be good. I do not recognize who you might be however certainly you’re going to a famous blogger should you are not already. Cheers!

  108. NotNasti October 23, 2012 12:17 pm

Mike Edwards is not getting interceptions simply because they are not throwing the ball his way. If/When he gets drafted, it’ll be as a return man. I think he’s as good or better than Ryan Mouton, who was a 3rd round draft pick and is a starter for the Titans in is 4th year. I predict 2nd or 3rd round for Edwards. I’d hate to see him go, but he should go now, while his stock is hot.

  109. Old School Dave October 23, 2012 12:33 pm

Gee, it’s been a while since UH played CSU. They had some good teams under Sonny Lubick, but have been down recently. Not many local players from Hawaii have played for CSU. The last one, I think, being Todd Schmidt from Damien back in the early to mid 80s. I think they filmed the old Robby Benson basketball movie “One on One” at CSU back in the 70s. No California schools would allow filming back them (now we know why).

Yup, I was thinking the same thing– that’s why no additional comment on my post #51 this morning. I was going to say, “Don’t bother scheduling a 13th game this year if you are gong to charge your season ticket holders extra”. You will do more PR damage than good.

I don’t know about the rest of the dwindling season ticket holder base, but I definitely would not pay extra to attend.

  111. laulau head October 23, 2012 12:45 pm

Another game and another tailgate?? I’m down!!! But if the team is asking for $200,000 to be wired, I hope upper campus reconsiders…

  112. A-House October 23, 2012 12:48 pm

after watching the San Diego St and Nevada and BYU and USC games – conclusion is that UH does not have the speed, size, and strength to match up with those teams and any another team in that category – notice how the RB nearly always falls forward for 3 – 5 yards while UH RBs are stopped cold at or near the point of contact.

the San Diego St RB, true Freshman, was about 5′ 11″ and 215 #s – but he had the quickness to go outside and brute strength inside to push UH defense back – two words: quick and strong. on the “inside runs, credit the Oline to create huge gaps to run through.

UH needs the MLB to be just as quick and strong or stronger to push back the RBs

sititng at the north endzone, you can see the large holes/gaps and I keep looking for the UH LBs – no where is sight

  114. Bowwar October 23, 2012 12:52 pm

I’d like Edwards to stay for his Senior year to bring closure to his past and get a degree…However, I wouldn’t blame him for taking the opportunity to earn money versus playing on another losing season.

  115. madeinhawaii October 23, 2012 12:52 pm

  116. A-House October 23, 2012 12:53 pm

while sitting in the lobby for Mrs A-House, I began tapping out morse code and it reminded me of the Airborne, Ranger, Special Forces staff sgt who was back at Ft Devens, Mass to sharpen his morse code skills – he would sit by himself and start writing and it was fast – our instructor tells us that he is copying at 48 words a minute – dang, here I thought I was doing good at 15 words per minute.

oh well, some got it and others don’t!

yestadayz #97 & 118. don’t forget guys, obama for his first 2 years had both the house and senate when he took office and did nothing but add to the national debt. This summer, Bill Clinton got caught on video blaming the democrates for stonewalling everything in congress.

obama could have passed anything he wanted for the good of the country, but chose do almost nothing. we don’t even have a budget since he’s been in office, for 4 years now. i could go on and on, but this is a sports blog. so i will stop there.

  118. Stretch October 23, 2012 12:55 pm

I honestly don’t care about paying for the last game, but if I pay for it, I want my seat. I do not want to have to race for a seat. Also, for parking, I don’t mind paying something, but if those who have parking passes have to race for a parking stall, then I know others who would not attend.

  119. Kapahulu October 23, 2012 12:55 pm

Tony Tuioti used to coach the UH defensive line last year. This year he is coaching the linebackers. I think this years defensive line coach may lack experience coaching that position. Perhaps Tony and the defesive line coach this year should switch coaching duties.

I remember two years ago global economists were praising Obama saying that the steps he took probably saved the world from another depression.

During his first two years, the economy was in dire straits. Foreclosures were destroying the family structure of the US. Seemingly indestructable companies were ready to go belly up. Addressing these left no money to fund much else as Bush had already spent all that with his search for weapons of mass destruction and Bin Laden… Oh yeah, Obama had to get the US out of that mess, too. Didn’t he also get Bin Laden?

  129. jimmy the lock October 23, 2012 1:21 pm

    From Wikipedia:

…”In a speech to Congress on 25 May 1961, Kennedy spoke of his deep respect for the United States Army Special Forces. While his announcement of the government’s plan to put a man on the moon drew all of the attention, in the same speech he announced his intention to spend over $100 million to strengthen U.S. special operations forces and expand American capabilities in unconventional warfare.

    129. don’t forget 9/11, WE got attacked— you’re making it sound like it was our fault being in Afghanistan. Bin Laden did say he was taking the war to America, more bombings etc… on soft targets.

On Iraq, after 9/11, 4-5 different countries intelligence services told bush that iraq was planning a 9/11 type attack on the USA and it’s imminent. bush acted only after the russian prez putin told bush the same thing….what would you do?

for 11 years iraq (sadddam hussain) kicked out the UN inspectors there to make sure irag destroyed there weapons of mass destruction. no one knew what saddam had. weapons of mass destruction is defined as nuclear. biological and chemical.

i don’t blame bush’s decision to go to iraq, he made the best decision he could with the intelligence he received.

    118. Colorado State (1-6, 0-3)

    119. Tulane (1-6, 1-2)

    120. New Mexico State (1-6, 0-3)

    121. Southern Mississippi (0-7, 0-3) – DOWN 11

    123. Florida Atlantic (1-6, 0-4) – DOWN 6

all of bush policies, gitmo, water boarding, wire-tapping, intel gathering etc… everything obama was against and said he would close/stop is what help find and enable our seals to kill bin laden. and don’t you notice obama kept almost all of bush’s policies? including tax-cuts lmao.

the virus that infected/disrupted the iraninian nuclear program and set it back for a few years was started by president bush. lol

  190. gigi-hawaii October 23, 2012 2:48 pm

I don’t have the time to devote all day to the WB, so I hop in when I can. SA Warrior is still talking politics! Wow!

Well, since we will be in India on election day, hubby and I voted absentee. Looks like Romney will have TWO FEWER VOTES. Ha!

  191. jimmy the lock October 23, 2012 2:49 pm

Yeah, saw the Banderas movie. Should’ve used Morgan Freeman, he makes a good Arab.

  192. gigi-hawaii October 23, 2012 2:49 pm

Doesn’t Frazier work for Temple? Would be ironic if UH plays them.

  193. Chicken Grease October 23, 2012 2:49 pm

    # 184 — “an owl coos” is an expression a Grease used wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyheyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy before any talk of this 13th Warrior (see # 186) game was brought forth. Grease an insider? Perhaps merely a Greasetradamous?

Let’s hope it’s Penn State. They could benefit from this isles’ blessings . . . I mean, look at Notre Dame nowadays post-kicked Warrior butt-in-pokey that on Aloha Bowl that Warriors should have won.

  194. iwonderwhytheyhateme October 23, 2012 2:50 pm

    LOL at your #185, ST.

Kekoa/A-house, that particular MOS schoolhouse has moved out to Ft. Huachuca, AZ. That’s right, they still teach it.

Adam Sandler movies… all the same.

Idiot goofball is screwing up in life, runs across some hot girl with a BF or no interest in him, does some crazy stuff and wins the girl.

What the hell happened to Adam Sandler in high school? What childhood fantasies stemmed from past disappointments is he trying to vicariously undo?

Dude, you are rich. Get over it already.

  235. Pupule Portagee October 23, 2012 3:50 pm

Ok got it. My earlier post was evidence of my Portageeness. I nevah realize they want to add a game THIS season. That’s unreal.

Penn State is one thing. Now Temple has approached Hawaii about trying to schedule a football game this December. Eh, whoever.

If this comes to fruition, then UH needs to give all season ticket holders a ticket. We pay the same if we have 6 home games or 7 home games. Not to mention the $$$ I paid for parking in the inner circle. I made my donations as did many season ticket holders. C’mon man, don’t charge us again !

I no like see the blog host sitting all by himself in a 50,000 seat stadium. Actually, that would be kinda funny.

  240. SteveM October 23, 2012 4:02 pm

    RE: Admin story is Star-Advertiser

I would like to think Chow’s comments are just obligatory since the current admin has not been removed yet.

How can you overlook the fact the trouble really started when Greenwood feigned knowledge, threw JD and Sheriff under the bus to further her agenda, and spent a lot of money trying to cover it all up? Then cry about “political pressure”.

I think the politicians did the right thing, and truly represented the outrage many of their constituents might have felt. I don’t think it’s done yet. With all the money UH is wasting, doesn’t the state House have a say in budget/funding?

  241. WarriorNY October 23, 2012 4:04 pm

  245. Manoa Mist October 23, 2012 4:10 pm

Hey, Mr. Tsai, my good buddy gave Adam Sandler surf lessons in Waikiki a couple years back. Said he was down to earth, a good brother, not arrogant at all. The Warrior Beat chicks may be jealous of me – ran into Steve McGarrett and Dan-O shooting a scene on Kawaiahao Street today. McGarrett looks cool, but Dan-O only comes up to my neck, and I’m only 5-10. Appreciate what those boys are doing for Hawaii though, and catch the show when I can.

  247. jm2375 October 23, 2012 4:10 pm

    Howzit Tsaikos!

Had to go get gas today at Costco cuz I couldn’t go yesterday (long story). Good thing I waited. Prices at Iwilei station – 4.09/4.29! As I entered the 4.29 price into the GasBuddy app, I got this message that it looked too low and was I sure? Hell, yeah, I’m sure.

jojo – dunno if it’s the case at other schools, but MPI now requires all student athletes in “high-risk” sports to undergo a baseline concussion assessment every year (season?). I’m assuming the sports include football, basketball, soccer, judo, wrestling, water polo, baseball, softball.

  248. Moocher October 23, 2012 4:15 pm

    smart move by 3-3 temple

play a bad team to maybe get a 7th win and bowl game OR, the 13th game is your bowl game in hawaii win-win for temple

  249. Slugger October 23, 2012 4:18 pm

If it’s Temple, maybe I can get my college buddy to come out with his son who graduated from Temple. Would be good to see them.

  250. Chicken Grease October 23, 2012 4:20 pm

    Two topics from a Grease:

Mr. Tsai, so . . . how do you handle such, um, “relinquishing of your secrets” by another? Why is a Grease mind-imaging the scene from The Godfather where Don Vito admonishes Sonny to never let others know what you’re thinking?

2nd item . . . Here. From the Owl Dictionary at the ‘site, Signs of the Seasons

Owl Listening Guide: Who Gives a Hoot?

Different owls make different sounds. Some don’t hoot at all. And the most common bird that says “Whoo, hoooooo” isn’t an owl at all! Listen to what these birds sound like. [Emphasis added.]

And from that About ‘site, animals category:

CT: Owls do more than just hoot—they create many different vocalizations.

Owls create a wide variety of sounds or vocalisations.

That “vocalisations” is the Brit’ spelling, yes? Can you believe they pronounce “aluminum” “alumininium”? So glad we’re won freedom away from them.

Anyway. An owl cries 🙁 .

    ROAD WARRIORS.

Remember, it was only a few short years ago when we readily tossed around the term.

Current Warriors…..please play like the road warriors, and not the Rainbows of old when I sat in the stadiums of CSU and WYO and watched as the home teams mercilessly clobbered our local boys. Be Road Warriors, not rainbows who played with little heart, questionable pride, acted like it was too cold, and couldn’t wait to get back on the plane. Go pluck a victory out of Fort Fun. Cosby knows Stevie Wonder quite well a Grease would imagine, both of them gaining fame while helping Dr. King w/their fame alone.

Anyone think the concert’s still a remote dream? Well. It’s a light years dream now, heh.

  260. SAWARRIOR October 23, 2012 6:53 pm

so is coach chow gonna make the players sleep-walk arm in arm into the CSU game and wonder after the game why his team started so slow? lol

i know that’s not the only factor for the teams slow starts, but it sure as hell does not help to fire up the team.

While serving in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for four years, Cosby worked in physical therapy with some seriously injured Korean War casualties,[9] which helped him discover what was important to him. Then he immediately realized the need for an education, and finished his equivalency diploma via correspondence courses.[10] He then won a track and field scholarship to Philadelphia’s Temple University in 1961–62,[11] and studied physical education while running track and playing fullback on the football team.

There seemed to be a bunch of “Hawaii” mentions in that show, it being scheduled ‘gainst Magnum P.I.. Think Cosby even wore Magnum’s same (woah!!!! Even 2012 World Series reference here) Detroit Tigers baseball cap once, eh?

My faith in the free enterprise system despite the poor leadership in the White House was realized as my portfolio has rebounded in the past few years.

I think the company I work for is emblematic of many companies in that despite the challenges presented by the myopic policies, laws and regulations that have come up we managed to find a path to profitability and have enhanced the owner’s position. Ours is a privately held corporation but if there were public equities they would have gained.

BTW, we miss those co-workers who were down-sized and remember them fondly and hope that they have managed to escape the ranks of the other 23M unemployed.

    #279 SAWARRIOR

“Mr. Obama applied the “terror” label to the attack in his first public statement on the events in Benghazi, delivered in the Rose Garden at the White House at 10:43 a.m. on Sept. 12.

“No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for,” he said. “Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.”

In order for UH to play Temple on December 8, 2012, the need to do some of these things.

    1) They need to get a special exemption approval from the NCAA because this is suppose to be a 14-week regular season for Division-1A football teams. (Conference Championship games is not included.) The December 1, 2012 game against South Alabama is the 14th week. Only the Army/Navy game on December 8, 2012 have that special exemption. This game is being played on week 15.

    2) Aloha Stadium already scheduled “Island Youth Football League” event at on the same December 8, 2012 date. UH need try and ask them if they’re willing to move their reserved date to another day.

    3) UH Men’s Basketball team plays Pepperdine at the Stan Sheriff Center on that same night at 7:00 p.m. which is scheduled to be televised on OC16 and broadcasted on ESPN1420 radio. So if football is played on the same night, what will UH do? Will they televise and radio broadcast the football game instead now?

    4) Are they going to charge the season ticket holders an admission fee or will they let them in for free?

There’s probably more obstacles that UH have to resolve before declaring that the Temple at UH football game will be played.

    # 288 D.S. — um, on The View (goodness. Here goes a Grease again, admitting he saw something on The View. Tsai, insert laugh here: _________________), in response to decidedly Leftie Joy Bahar’s question asking the president to clarify the hit on the ambassador, Obama said, quite clearly, quite succinctly, “we’re still investigating.” This appearance on The View by the president was way after the Rose Garden conference.

So, which is it???? Is the White House still investigating??? Or is this an act of terrorism????? The president ONLY said the safe “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for,” (you said it yourself, D.S., above) — this statement can exist independent of what he (Obama) had to say about the Benghazi attack. And it’s reminiscent of Bill Clinton’s “I did not. Have. S3x with . . .” you know? Obama’s “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for,” was safe for him to say.

“Terror” = what you get from a horror movie.

“Terrorism” = right on, Mr. Obama. You taking a stand. You calling the Beghazi attack for what it is.

Is the investigation STILL ongoing????? Obama wasn’t ready to answer that in this last and final debate.

You know a Grease comes here to The Warrior Beat to take a break from posting o’er at Political Radar. Sheesh. 😉

Some people need to stop listening to Bill OReilly and Sean Hannity. Too much spin and too much hate.

Attack in Libya . . . yes there were communication errors and security concerns. Why is it so hard to believe that the government is still investigating? There is no denying at this point that it happened. There were obvious intelligence short sights. Huge government cover up? Come on, far from it. It seems what is happening here is the White House spoke way too soon before they had all the facts, and it bit them in the arse. Now they are being tight lipped to avoid the same. But Republicans want an all out confession/acceptance of blame, blah, blah. Wake up people, we are in the middle of the election. People will criticize Obama for the death of these 4 Americans, which he had nothing to do with. What about criticism in the other direction for using the death of these Americans as political amunition to boost support for your candidacy?

Don’t call democrats blind to the facts when republicans make the same intentional oversights and untruths. Anyone who has been following the election has seen Romney commit his fair share.

Leaning too far in either direction makes it hard to see what is happening right in front of you. Stand up straight. Vote based on your values and reason. Not because of what you hear talking heads say on tv. If your values make you a democrat, be proud to be one. If they make you a republican, be proud to be one. If it makes you hate one or the other, you are lacking values and reason.
