Time’s a wastin’
Let’s see . . .
1. UH got scammed on the Stevie Wonder concert.
2. UH responded with two bad news conferences — A) When Jim Donovan was left alone to sorta-sorta explain why there would be no concert and, B) When Donovan was the only UH official not invited for the announcement — in front of Hawaii Hall, with no amps — that an investigation would be launched into the mess.
That was in July.
There will be a hearing on Monday that will eventually conclude that UH got scammed on the Stevie Wonder concert and UH responded with two bad news conferences.
Meanwhile, Hamilton Library continues to crumble and nobody can figure out who’s in charge of telling the Color Guard to show up for the national anthem at UH football games.
* * * * *
It’s interesting that a guy could be out of town for 40 years yet still know so much about UH football history. But credit Norm Chow for naming Buzzy Hong as this week’s honorary captain.
* * * * *
Never doubt our readers’ crystal balls. (OK, that just sounded wrong right after I typed “never.”)
Kody Afusia is indeed getting a look at defensive tackle. It makes sense, although it does cause a shuffle on the offensive line.
Now, can readers offer some stock tips . . .
* * * * * *
For those doubting the importance of screening committees, just remember this guy once applied to be UH’s head coach: Smile!
FIRST!!!!!!!!
Deuces!!!
Good morning all!
Top 5.
I don’t know if I got #4 for how many posts in a row.
Good morning everybody.
ST- buy low, sell high
Dont ask about facility concerns. Now is not the time, but before was a good time and nothing was done? So when is a good time? Lazy liars.
“Now is not the time” – da kine lower campus quarry administration
Afusia was considered a “SLEEPER” coming out of a small school until they found out he committed to a D-1 school (UH) then all of a sudden he had a few stars behind his name. The kid can play, saw his his HL from HS school. Also a wrestler quick hands, feet and good pad level.
stock tip, you should have bought AAPL months ago.
And people still think uh needs to be run with full automomy? The truth earns no political idealistic points.
Walter:
Thanks. I usually buy high and then wonder what to do with my Enron and Circuit City stocks.
5 of the last 6 I got #4. Missed 1 and erased spam pushed me to #3.
BIG DEAL! Bwahahaha.
i hope Afusia can be like Lafaele and make the switch permanent. it would give us good depth at DT going into next season, esp since Samia and Friel will be coming off injuries.
SR – Matagiese, Puu-Robinson
JR – Afusia (? or back to OL), Samia (coming off ACL injury)
SO – Friel (coming off injury)
FR – Andrade (or will be be SO next season?), Thompson
and then hopefully we still get Dejon Allen (GS FR), David Moala (JC SO), and Kennedy Tulimasealii (FR).
Afusia is a R-Soph.
So I take it the coaches read these blog posts… That’s pretty awesome about Afusia…
Nice call Jeezy
Don’t forget Iuta Tepa, who has been practicing.
isnt Tepa gonna be a DE tho? i was just listing DTs. i guess Puu-Robinson is DE/DT.
Actually, after I read some posts yesterday morning, I called Chow and asked if Afusia would be moving to defense.
He said: “As usual, you’re a day late. We decided that last night.”
Blog host: “Hah. I’m usually three days late. I’m getting better.”
I have a feeling Jeezy was sitting in the coaches’ meetings.
Letsgo:
Good point. This is what happens when I scan without really reading. If I were a reader I would be the one yelling “Foist” while posting fifth.
will there be any changes to the starting OL this game?
any recruiting news?
Any business person can tell you the two problems that UH management has– and these two things create a vicious cycle. First, too man “leaders” with no one person clearly in charge who signs off and approves– you had the President, the Chancellor, ex-Chancellor, Athletic Director, and the guy who ran the Stan Sherrif center– who is it? Second, lack of communication and oversight of the athletic department by the upper campus. Move the UHAD to the upper campus he needs to have an office there and meet daily or at least weekly with the Chancellor or the President.
But, yes, UH people do read the blog.
I know this because I try to write separate stuff for the paper and the blog. Yet, coaches will comment about blog items.
We give UH folks free access codes to the online edition. I wonder if they’re EBay-ing ’em.
letsgo:
As of now, no changes on offense. But there is competition at right tackle between Shigematsu and Milovale.
UH doesn’t have many scholarships to offer, so I don’t expect any commitments until later.
But the weekend of Oct. 19 is going to be huge for coast-to-coast recruiting.
ST, LOL… You don’t give yourself enough credit…
How has Tepa looked in practice? I remember watching his video out of high school and he looked like a beast…
Buzzy Hong??? I found this little info about him…
William “Buzzy” Hong retired last year after serving the Hawaii Building and Construction Trades Council as its executive director since 1990. The Hawaii Building and Construction Trades Council is a chapter of the National Building Trades Council headquartered in Washington, D.C. His education includes an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Hawaii and an associate’s degree in police science from Chaminade University.
Interesting how the coaches have to shift players around due to injuries. IN CHOW WE TRUST!
nice thanks.
ST: weird — When I clicked on the new post title, a sentence appeared stating that I had been banned due to spam. I was to contact the web master re my IP address.
Panic!
Then I logged on again, and all is well.
As I said: WEIRD.
@23,
Interesting about the coaches… I wonder if any of them have discreetly commented on the blog…
BTW, who is the “web master”?
smart coaches… obvious Afusia needed a lot more at DT then O line.
Funny how things turn out… at the start of the season it seems everyone was scrambling to find Olinemen.. now they’re moving an olineman to the Dline?
Howzit, gang!
Not too much going on… just waiting for Friday… ’cause Saturday is right after… and it’s GameDay!!!
By the way, mahalo to those who posted a response to my query about how many UHM students are allowed into the stadium for free, with their student ID cards. Would still like to see the (flood)gates opened (maybe by halftime) to those students who make it to the stadium and still want to get in, even if they are late or are above the 5k limit. Just print out comp student tickets to empty seats, trying to keep them close to the designated student section.
Good Morning All!
My biggest kick of the day is waking up to expresso and the WB!
Today’s my Friday, yippee! Off to work than 11 days vacation!
Are we ready yet?
Always ready!

Not sure who the Web master is. It isn’t me.
And if you’re locked out, how are you supposed to contact anyone?
Good morning Tsaikos!!! Hey KK, I tried e-mailing you but says message undeliverable to your e-mail….
ST: so it would have been fruitless to call you up and say, UNBAN ME!
Good morning Tsaikos!
It’s been over 6 years since the University Elementary School bldg burned down. Not only have they not caught the hooligans, there are *NO* plans (that I know of, anyway) to replace it yet. Wondering what they did with the insurance money, other than to put 4

Its such as you read my mind! You appear to grasp so much about this, like you wrote the ebook in it or something. I believe that you simply can do with a few percent to force the message house a bit, however instead of that, this is excellent blog. An excellent read. I will certainly be back.
John L. Smith.
Buggah complains to everyone in the BigTen about us, and then throws his name into the hat. Spartan friends all couldn’t wait for him to leave.
Just typing that name feels like I told a joke.

Well together with your permission let me to grasp your RSS feed to keep updated with coming near near post. Thank you a million and please keep up the enjoyable work.
So I hope the committee expands the scope of their inquiry into how and why UH is hiring an outside law firm to help them prepare for their questioning. Hawaii taxpayers are paying for that too? Seriously, WT….
Who thinks Alabama needs locker room material for its game against Florida Atlantic?
Apparently, FAU DE Cory Henry does:

I believe that you just could do with a few p.c. to force the message house a little bit, however other than that, that is magnificent blog. A great read. I’ll certainly be back.
More on Buzzy Hong….he is one of the board members for HART making important rail decisions.
No money for deferred maintenance issues yet….
Warriormojo…I agree with you. When I read that I was like, “WTH. Why do they have to hire another law firm at taxpayer expense.”
Who picks the music tracks that are played over the “not so loud and muffled” speakers at the stadium? Is that the band?
WMojo,
Two words:
stone
wall
🙄
The band does NOT pick the music over the PA system…
Just announced on CFB Live.
Abe Markowitz likely to be the next man up at C this week
ST?
On oct 19 you say it’s a big recruiting week from coast to coast. Who’s coming in on that weekend? If you could say that’ll be great. Any one from Florida? Another NaQuan Phillips?
I am a fan of the marching band and the atmosphere they provide but when they play is part of the script.
Every game at UH in any sport has a script crafted by marketing dept to tie in with advertisements for the cororate sponsors.
The recorded music is not chosen by the band as they are part of the show.
Hi, Neat post. There is a problem with your site in web explorer, would test this? IE still is the market chief and a big element of people will leave out your great writing because of this problem.
jm2375:
believe State of Hawaii is “self-insured” – therefore no insurance $$$ – must get appropiration from legislature.
I like the blog’s headline today. Very appropriate.
Is not “Buzzy” Hong a 1958 Rosovelt grad? My borther-in-law talks about him from time to time.
Beleive same class with Tom Price and Milton Hirohata – all ’58 grads.
ST – no get upset cause I spell Rosovelt wrong – did on purpose!!

Good job honoring Buz. He did a lot of good work with us during his tenure at the Building Trades Council and now on HART.
Overall the honorary captain thing is a great idea.
I think ST should be an honorary captain… 🙂 Maybe IWWTHM can start a petition or write another letter….LOL
As someone that has to commute in morning traffic, I nominate Panos Prevedouros as an honorary team captain.
Kevin , funny quote from yesterday…
I’m wondering why this isn’t getting more news…
http://alohastadium.hawaii.gov/info/press-releases/if-you-see-something…say-something
I feel this is among the such a lot important info for me. And i’m happy studying your article. But wanna statement on some general issues, The website style is perfect, the articles is in point of fact excellent : D. Good activity, cheers
WarriorNY,
That’s kind of old news actually. For several seasons they’ve posted that phone # on the big screen at the stadium for people to call reporting problems. As far as the actual texting service, I cannot recall how new that is if it wasn’t in place prior to … ahem… NOW.
All I can think of is that book the late David Yount wrote, “Who runs the University?” OMG I’m showing my age.
I think John L. Smith is about ready to crack…I mean he must have some real mental issues….but hey you know what he gets what he deserves for doing what he did and preaching about loyalty then just leaving Weber State…
#80…Who is David Yount???? MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA j/k
AAPL!!!
I had David Yount as my physics professor at UH. One of the few lecture classes that I didn’t fall asleep in.
Good Morning TSAIKOS
laulau head:
Played with Buzzy Hong and Larry Price. Head Coach was Jimmy Asato who should also be honored especially since he was an “Asian” head coach before Chow! Buzzy has more great stories about him than Elvis but I will never tell! I am very happy to see him being honored.
The stadium texting number should be always visible from all parts of the stadium. It is like a 911 number. everyone should know it or be able to find it instantly.
How does that work? Do you Text to the phone # 78247 the word “aloha”? That isn’t a real number. how does that work?
Found a number for certain fans to complain about others that are standing and cheering too loudly at sportig events.
# is 555-1234
Dial it. If no one answers, dial again and keep dialing until someone picks up.
Will-I-Am,
I was wondering the same thing. It seems if you text ALOHA to that number you will be sent a response asking what section and row the incident is occuring in.
Re #68
A-House, yeah, I would agree with you that General Counsel has a conflict since they also had a role in this fiasco, but that’s not really the point for this upcoming Senate hearing.
This hearing is not a criminal investigation, disciplinary proceeding, personnel review or anything like that. The Senate has no authority to interfere with HR management at UH, thus no one is facing any kind of administrative or civil penalties based upon this hearing.
Rather, this hearing is purely a fact finding exercise into how and why UH got ripped off, how and why they handled the damage control in the manner they did, and what measures and safeguards were in place then or have now been put in place to ensure this doesn’t happen again. If Greenwood/Apple et al did nothing wrong, just tell the truth and be done with it. Or, if you’re worried because you screwed up, hire an attorney at YOUR expense.
Taxpayers ALREADY had to pay because someone at UH screwed up. Then we had to pay MORE because UH hired the most expensive firm in town to investigate and write a report detailing that UH screwed up, which we already knew. Now we have to pay YET AGAIN
Put it this way, when Mack, Bolla, Dobelle and JD were embroiled in contract terminations/restructuring, they each hired their OWN lawyer at their OWN expense. (JD’s lawyer ended being paid by UH as part of the settlement ONLY because UH totally mishandled JD’s situation).
So WHY is UH money being used for this purpose? Why is TAXPAYER money being used for this? And who authorized this expenditure and who has the authority to DENY this kind of expense? Does anyone?
I heard that John L. Smith will be offering a financial seminar on how to lose $26 million in real estate sometime in January.
My brother recommended I might like this web site. He was once entirely right. This publish truly made my day. You cann’t believe just how so much time I had spent for this info! Thank you!
Autonomy works if there is competence and clearly with this administration and previous ones, it has not worked.
Why else would some concerned fans and boosters need to contact legislators to help move things forward? Semi-autonomy is just enough to keep UH administration on their toes when things reach their boiling point, but at the same time doesn’t allow the kind of accountability needed to prevent issues from arising.
Bottom line is the university is still a state institution funded on donations and tax payers and since the university is not able to operate on private funds alone, they should still be answering to the state and the legislators and the tax payers.
The amendment that was placed years ago for semi-autonomy should be YANKED. It has clearly not worked and despite the political ideology of some, facts are facts. The University of Hawaii will never be a private institution and will always be a public one, therefore the state needs to seize control of it and hold administrators (STATE employees) accountable for everything that happens.
hey there and thank you for your info ? I’ve certainly picked up anything new from right here. I did on the other hand experience several technical issues the usage of this web site, as I skilled to reload the website lots of instances previous to I may just get it to load properly. I have been considering if your web hosting is OK? Now not that I am complaining, but sluggish loading cases instances will often affect your placement in google and could injury your high-quality score if advertising and marketing with Adwords. Anyway I’m including this RSS to my e-mail and could glance out for a lot extra of your respective interesting content. Ensure that you replace this again soon..
I am a real dufus when it comes to computers – I tried to print the UH Band notice, but nada!
Say, would the star-advertiser be willing to print, for no charge, or set aside part of a page to print the brochure so those who see it and want to make a donation can do so?
since the UH Foundation handles all donations, must this be run through them or does all the $$ go the the “band” without a 3% “take” by the foundation?
how is the weather?
yea, that makes 3 questions and place me with IWWTHM class!
mojo:
must agree with you #91 – may take a walk over to witness some nervous individuals testifying before the committee.
A-house,
Save yourself the trouble…they aren’t gonna say a thing (on the advice of Counsel)
@96,
Haven’t been asking much questions lately. You now hold the title and I bow down to you. =)
fuud – fuud!!!
yesterdays Today section of the SA shows 2 guys holding “samoan crabs” pulled from Heeia fish pond – looked so yummy!!
is not the pond privately owned with NO tresspassing? or, am I behind time as article seemed to be asking for help in catching this “invasive” species?
if open to the public, wonder how many took advantage of the invite to grab some ono, ono crabs?
now, now, u wen axe tree questions again!!
If you should catch a “monstah” fish or crab, will you let it go or let science examine it and then stuff it?
my first instinct is to let it go – the satisfaction is to see it; not necessarily eat it.
Bought AAPL stock back in the early 90s for around $27/share. hehehe.
btw, Univ Ave off-ramp (east-bound) closed today from 9 am – 1 pm. (I know it’s late). Baboozes put the *1* sign *AT* the Bingham off-ramp. Had to go all the way to King St exit. Had I known it was closed, I would’ve gotten off at Punahou St.
now you know it’s a slow day at the office with so many posts by me – gotta keep looking ova da shouldah for da beeg boss!
GET BACK TO WORK! CONFUNNITT!!…

Mrs A-House – That should read “da beeg beeg boss”.
LOL
A-House…
I believe Heiea is public… Kamaaina Kids operates the “park”… the fish pond further down the road towards Kahaluu is private and owned by the Wongs. That’s where all the weddings take place.
Having said that, though. I don’t think you are allowed to fish/crab INSIDE the pond, but you can do so, outside of it.
Read an article that mentioned Nevada as being the first mainland college football team to play against Hawaii. That was back in 1920 and they traveled by ship (USS Maui) which took six days! I thought it was an interesting piece of history between the two schools.
http://www.silverandbluesports.com/2012/09/20/a-look-back-at-the-packs-last-win-over-hawaii-on-the-island/
P.S. There are a few quotes from the Honolulu Advertiser about the games that were played in 1946 and 1948 (last time Nevada won in Hawaii). Think Ferd was just beginning his career back then…lol.
Good lunchowa reading.. thanks!

One of the recruits hosted by Arkansas at the Alabama game was Altee Tenpenny from North Little Rock,Ark.
He committed to Bama so he must have been real happy at the game.

Anyway, its good to hear that Kaumeyer is doing some conditioning drills to prepare for the Wolf Pack. Heard the Packs no-huddle up-tempo offense is starting to pick up the pace. Running plays every 16 seconds. Should be a good game this weekend. If peeps don’t show up in the stands, they going miss a good game!
Kind of reminds me of Mrs. A-House speaks everyone listens . . . especially Mr. A-House.
Boy, that came out messed up.
Meant to say, “Kind of reminds me of that commercial, ‘When Mrs. A-House speaks, everyone listens . . . especially Mr. A-House.'”
One last article by Joe Santoro of the Silver and Blue, and the so-called Wolf Packs “Island Curse” against Hawaii.

Just a couple more days before the Warriors roll up the newspaper and silence the wolves.

Here’s a blast from the not-too-distant past.

If the people called to appear before the state Senate hearing on Monday do not feel amply provided for by on-campus legal representation, I guess they have a right to hire outside counsel (e.g. Katz). But why in the world are we the taxpayers stuck with the bill? And just how stupid do these individuals think we the people are?
Oh, sorry, hope everyone is having a good Thursday. The latest upper campus news is super upsetting.
dangit. No NBC sports network on Dish in Hawaii…
but it did have KITV when they were off Oceanic…
football: somewhat related to the warriors.
how much difference does coaching make in high school ball?
for years, the kalani falcons were the doormats of all high school football. one win every three years was cause to celebrate. to the credit of people like long time and current head coach greg taguchi the football program which had been on the brink of disintergration, was held together year after year. often times, literally by bandaid.
when the brothers lee left the university of hawaii football program, one by one, it was greg who solicited the help of these former mastermnds of the game. first ron and then cal placing them as the offensive and defensive coordinators for the falcons. greg taguchi not one of a huge ego welcomed the lee’s to help run and ressurect the fledgling football team.
the lee’s have certainly been instrumental in bringing the falcons to a 3 win and two loss record so far this year. yup, three wins already. they’ve done so by employing their expertise over the years and their legacy has also helped the falcons secure many more athletes that they would not have retained for their schools’ district.
…nuff said.
Simply want to say your article is as astounding. The clearness to your post is simply great and that i can think you’re knowledgeable on this subject. So who is the person that does pick the PA music?
The firm hired by UH specializes in employment law.
Hmmmmmm, who is afraid of what? And, why are they worried?
Will-I-Am . . .
The person who selects the music is probably the same person who claims crazed and out of control alcoholics are not a problem at UH games. Sadly, not a clue.
Used to have the problem in the stands when I worked there in the 70’s.

prior to the singing of the national anthem and hawaii ponoi, the mc guy (not billy v.) at the game said “and i know they’re (the color guard) here.” was he seeing things? maybe the color guard will show up at half time this week…
Liz – channel 159 NBCSP on the channel guide
we all know what happened to Herman Frazier when he appeared before Mark Takai, et al. at the Legislature: He lost his job.
Is that what Greenwood fears, hence the hiring of the Katz lawfirm?
#96 A-House
All donations goes through UHF – remember UHF is a designated 501c(3) corp and all donations going to it or through it is tax-deductable.
UHF does all the paperwork – tax reporting, accounting etc for the various booster clubs. A $1,000 donation would be $30 and $100 would be $3.00 so the sum for all that kind of paperwork etc is comparatively cheap.
Can you image what Cades Schutte charged for the factfinding and what Bob Katz will be charging this coming week?
jm – 159 does not appear on my dvr.
Get one sticky pepa. Rite “159” on top. Stick ’em on da dvr.
Dea.
“Can you image what Cades Schutte charged for the factfinding and what Bob Katz will be charging this coming week?”
No, Tom, I can’t and that’s what scares me. As has been said before, the initial $200,000 loss is turning into a million dollar (multi-million dollar?) financial quagmire. What is the PUBLIC benefit or PUBLIC interest that justifies the hire of Torkildson? Why are we spending a million dollars to find out why we got swindled out of $200,000?
Prolly not many “Ainokea” shirts in boise’s stadium…. 🙄
Hi all,
I’m watching the Panthers/Giants game but was kinda disappointed cuz I didnt see kealoha pilares. Anyone know what’s going on with him?
Hi all,

D1,
No more kanakshen Fokai/MMA/ground and pound in Boise. Just their school colors and logos.
UH Admin surely knows how to piss people off.
GO AFUSIA!
GO CRYSTAL BALLS!
GO WARRIORS!
BSu trying to keep their options open? They have the MW logo on the field. As opposed to when they played their last year in the WAC without the logo.
Or was that a Benson cave?
Pilares is mainly the kickoff returner. In games i have seen he has had very little pt on offense. But I think he has had a foot injury so I do not know what his current status is.
Okay time to watch the enemy.
Greenwood/Apple et al have FIDUCIARY duties to the UH system and Hawaii taxpayers. They get paid BIG bucks to operate/oversee the UH system. In this instance they (or one or more of their subordinates) screwed up and money was scammed away. But that’s THEIR fault. It happened on THEIR watch.
So how do they justify spending MORE public money to protect against an inquiry into THEIR failures? The ONLY people who benefit from Torkildson’s involvement are Greenwood/Apple themselves. There is NO way that benefits the UH system or Hawaii taxpayers.
Again, who approves these hires and the invoices that are generated? Who, if anyone, has the authority to say, “Hey, wait a minute. What’s all this?” If these services are being paid out of some discretionary fund or something, I see potentially HUGE conflict of interest issues.
So Boise still has the blue turf. I thought they couldn’t use it anymore in the MWC. Still 1 more year to go.
Redone,
I haven’t seen him on kickoff returns…
Cripes, usually people have to pay me to get this pissed off. UH Admin is getting me to donate my services for free.
They’re paying Torkildson, though.
WM, maybe you should email Mark Takai about your valid concerns?
maybe email Donna Kim, too, in advance of the hearing?

how about a letter to the editor of SA?
I thought Pilares played last game (limited).
How many UH Administrators does it take to change a light bulb?
None, they hire a team of lawyers to do it.
Punt-fest in Boise
…and a blown fake
Boise just gave BYU three points with that fake punt.
Scratch dat.
Its time to pressure the Board of Regents.
It is the BOR that has oversight on UH Admin.
I never thought I’d say this but “Let’s go BYU!”
Don: Doesn’t the BOR president have to appear before Donna Kin, et al?
Bad decision by Riley. Just gave back at least three points.
Donna Kin? Any relation to Anakin? joke joke.
Wow, this is a really strange game with BYU and Boise…
That’s NAPkin’s sister.
I have a feeling heads are going to roll when D. Kim does her hearing. She appears to be a very thorough person that does not put up with waste or sloppiness.
The force is strong in Donna-kin.
Hoping a few of the questions involve the hiring of both law firms.
That would be interesting to watch and listen to their responses and see them squirm.
When they question JD, RS, VH about who gave final approval should be loads of fun if they point to the folks in the president’s office.
Maybe Kellen Moore was a little better than was thought….evidently it’s not just the system
yeah hubby is recording the byu bsu game. Lol.
I’m just getting the scoop from you guys.
what’s the score?
0-0
Last time BSU was shutout in the first half was in the MPC Computers bowl against Boston College (Ryan Mathews was the QB).
thanks, shoko.
I’m gonna rest my eyes now. Been staring at the computer too much.
see ya later.
Sorry, meant Matt Ryan.
Donna Kim may be from another planet. She still looks the same
as she did 20 years ago…
🙄
If the enemy of my enemy is my enemy, who should we be cheering for?! (insert LOL here if so moved)
#163 WarriorMojo said: “I see potentially HUGE conflict of interest issues.”
It is not potential – it is actually a conflict of interest.
As I read it, Bob Katz (Torkildson Katz et al) will be at the hearing representing the UH (the corporate body). Needless to add, if some of the people from UH goofed – went contrary to the UH’s best interest – Katz cannot condone or excuse their actions.
If the various parties waive their rights to separate counsel and consent to Katz’ representation, that’s their problem.
Seems to me that it would be in the best interest of the University to clear this matter up. It would be a clear conflict if anyone of them should refuse to testify.
Big Canadian Nose Tackle, Atkison, intercepts BYU and scores TD.
He’s already drafted by the Candaian Pro Football League.
To me this legislative hearing is like picking at a scab. The damage is done they should let it heal over.
You can bet M.R.C. and anyone else involved is secure in the knowledge that UH can’t afford to terminate anyone. Dobelle walked away with a 7 figure settlement and Frazier a 6 figure settlement. M.R.C. knows she can get at least those two settlements combined if at some point she is asked to step down.
Unless this hearing is going to recover the lost money it’s a waste of time and as others have said a waste of tax payer money. Any kind of “answers” gotten will not be worth the time and money spent.
Yep, Atkinson is one athletic fatman. Heard he played fullback in H.S.
“Ask, and you shall receive.
Seek, and you shall find.
Knock, and the door shall be open to you.”
Matthew 7:7
Another score for Boise courtesy of their cheaters-choice blue turf. How else do you explain a Nose Guard making a pick six? Da buggah is so big, the BYU QB threw it at him, thinking he was grounding the ball. (see LOL guideline above)
😆
another interception…
Bet Midenhall is wishing he still had Jake Heaps.
Is there a dereliction or cause clause?
There they go again! ( go ahead and laugh. it IS funny.)
#197 Ipu Man as fas as Donna Kim is concerned,
“Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale her infinite variety.”
Taysom Hill should be coming in. The freshman couldn’t do any worse.
Good grief! This is getting ridiculous!
BYU imploding.
Last comment about the turf. Ya know how Notre Dame has that tradition of players touching the “Play like a Champion today” sign when they take the field? The Donks should have their players kiss the Blue Turf when thay take the field on game day. No tellin’ how many times the Blue Monster has helped Boise in the past. Hate the Blue Turf!
wow, lava, manoa1 and i are the only ones picking our warriors to lose against nevada. i hope we are wrong.
they* that should read above…
wafan –
More like Blue Monster rising! (I promise, no more remarks about the cheating Blue Turf.)
Wow.
tommui, are you comparing her to cheese?
Defense on both sides pretty stingy….I don’t think too much of either QB’s. Well 4th qtr. shud tell it all. BSU needs this game more to stay in the mix for possible, whatcha-call-it bowl??
Bring on the wolf pack!!

I’m sure there are alot of irritated mormons tonight. They should blame Romney for the loss…lol
What was BYU thinking, as bad as they were playing did they really think that they could convert a 2 pt. conversion.
Gigi,
BOR chair is going to the hearing but I believe that the other regents should hear from students, taxpayers, alumni via elected representatives.
Call them out on this.
kitsunegari – no forget “wahinesoftballfan” (NOT)
Giants had their way with the Panthers tonight, 36-7. No stats for Kealoha. Not even sure he played.
Can’t fathom why BYU would go for two. Your defense has controlled BSU the whole game, your offense is finally starting to click, you can go into OT with all of the momentum by tying up the score… and you gamble the whole game on a play you have a less than 50/50 chance of converting. Nuts…
Wow Mendenhall blew it. Why go for 2? His defense was really good in the redzone and Peterson was afraid to use his kicker. Should have took it to overtime.
#220 – no, but I wonder if the author thought about cheese when he wrote the lines!
I have to add (for my own protection) that I love brie, gouda, white cheddar …
Awesome game today between BSU and BYU…. fell asleep just before BYU scored their TD… Woke up after the game ended….
hmmm…Donna Kim compared to Cleopatra per William Shaksphere
and Tommui…her beauty and mystique.
off topic …. the tsunami trash is here (from Japan) … dangerous to boaters.

Kamehameha recovers bad center/qb shotgun snap deep in Iolani territory.
KS leads 28 to Iolani 21…
Now two td lead, 35 to 21.

Lava & Manoa #1 one and the same?
Willie Jones…awesome
Rich Miano doing color commentary. Interesting.
Leahy is enthusiastic and makes the game exciting.
Would be interesting if his pa paired up with him for high school games, too…
Jeffery…baby daddy. Hallelujah.
Jeffery…baby daddy. Hallelujah.
Good Evening TSAIKOS
About one minute left and Iolani scores a td to either tie the game
or go for two against Kamehameha.
This is a good Iolani game!
Extra 2 point pass picked off (cannot run back like in college) so looks like
Kamehameha will win this game. Imuha.
sp?
Imua!
…”parting of the red sea”, said coach Miano.
Deliberate lax defense so Iolani can get the ball back.
Hmmmmmmm….
Lots of time left…
So boys and girls, do NOT head for daylight.
Instead fall down short of the goal and eat the clock up.
Oh shucks!
Clock monster…
That was a good close game!
Good game.
Exciting play by both teams and coaches.

Upgraded my Dish subscription yesterday. Now I can record the game. Feel much better.
Go Warriors!
Good morning. I hope a lot of people show up and write in to the Senate. Big thanks to tommui and WarriorMojo for posting about the wrinkles in the whole UH attorneys for Senate hearing mess.
Thanks, Ferd, for posting the Katz contract. $25,000 for appearance at legislature. Contract signed AUG. 20 by the “director of office of procurement and real property management.”
Looks like indeed the state is paying. A fill-in part of the contract says funds are available from “account 2269712.”
Swell.
Great Morning All!
