Good Morning Tsaikos 🙂
ST I have a photo for David Veikune. where’s the show at?
Samson Satele will do well in Oakland.
Top 10
good morning all…..top five(5)!!!!
k-dan..top 10
Hopefully Veikune will get picked high, but no matter what, he’ll be employed in Football this next year.
Are we going to use up our last scholarship on anybody new? Or, will it go to a current player who has proven himself?
and so where is Leile, going?? ST….your thoughts…or maybe Garret?
R.M. Cox
Miami Dolphins Examiner
Free agency losses in 2010
“Why it’s an issue: The Dolphins will have 12 unrestricted free agents after the 2009 season. The list includes some key positions: Quarterback Chad Pennington, tight ends Anthony Fasano and David Martin, defenders Will Allen, Matt Roth and Jason Ferguson, and wide receiver Davone Bess.”
I look for Davone to have a breakout year, test the market and up with a better team.
Hmmmm…
Looks like some flexibility is needed in the questioning for today’s guest (or guess)….
Who’s better? O-line or D-line?
What’s better? Having eligibility left or getting ready for the next level?
no worries esme!
Nnnnnnngggguh! *whacking keyboard on forehead repeatedly to dull the nerves*
Oh … oh, hi! Don’t mind me.
Good morning, gang! Hi, ST!
Good Morning TsaiKo Ohana !!!1
good morning 8) and what a glorious day it is starting out to be. suns out, birds singing and 😀 esme on live subing for da princess. what else can we ask for? you get’um girl !!!!!
Great job Esme!!!
Esme,
You better hope homey doesn’t show at the video show! 🙂
Good morning everyone!
…another work day for me and I can’t watch the show live… but Bre’r Esme will be fine. I’m curious if she wears Mom pink or Tsai-ko black? What’s the betting line on this one? 😆
Wouldn’t it be great if some how Bess got picked up by the raiders and Colt got traded to them man that would be exciting.
Good morning Tsaikos!!
Esme – no lie. I seen you on da terebi before. You’ll do fine.
okay so here’s a question for david veikune….
please name your top three teams that you would like to be drafted by.
steveM good one, so what esme inquiring minds want to know
david veikune….
i knew that you would say that it doesn’t matter and that you just want an opportunity, however, deep down inside i am sure you have a few favorites.
just want to say the best wishes to you and your fellow teammates on april 2 at the pro day. do you plan to participate in all events or just a select few since the scouts have already seen you perform at such a high level?
What is Nanay worried about, she’s a TV star already!
Slow day on the blog – adding to the confusion – no. 27?
SteveM – You talking about underwear color?
I wonder how much lbs. the video feed will add to Esme?
question for ray hisatake….
i am so glad we finally got one japanese boy playing for the home team.
with that out of the way….its been a long time since you were recruited out of san mateo and you have gone through quite a bit transitioning from the defense to the offense. do you still think that you are on the “right” side of the line scrimmage or do you sometimes wish that you were back on the defense?
i hear you will get a shot at one of the guard positions, many of us will be pulling for you!
Here’s a generic question:
What is your most memorable moment as a Warrior?
homey….for me its black. black can cover up a lot of mistakes.
Generic question:
What are the Oline or Dline goals for Spring, Fall, and Season?
Are you happy with the progress of the line during this “off-season” workout regimen?
al – It can also make you look smaller.
Hope everyone watches The Warrior Beat today at noon!
Is there any feedback on the show, audio, video, etc?
We’d love to hear from you folks!
Thanks!
John
homey # 28 so nasty but das you my bruddah
Anyone remember the class action lawsuit the was filed against Airborne? Anyone got their refund checks recently?
gotta do errands but will be back for the 12 o clock showing. should be a good one
online – The audio isn’t balanced. Sometimes someone is hard to hear, other times someone is a few decibels higher. Sometimes you can hear ST sniffle…
yep saw that item on news last night but when did they advertise the money rebate to get some of dem monies?
read later cause outta hea
online:
Are you folks using a “que” so Leila and Stephen know when they are on the “air”?
Last one, they seemed to be “startled” to know that they were “live”.
i like the ad-libbing. its fun.
esme,
just don’t acknowledge us like you know us when you read the questions. there’s a lot of non-blog readers that view the show. they’d be wondering where all the inside jokes/smirks would come from.
ahouse…..i think even the tekkies don’t know when they are on the air..
SteveM, re:#20: Seeing as she really doesn’t care for the color pink (I know…weird, huh???) and black, while flattering on BIG mamaz like me, is a little to, uh….not “Esme”….
My vote is some shade of green (C’mon…how could she NOT go there?) or she will show her filipino colors and use something totally not expected like peach, plum, or some other fruity color….
hahahahaha….hehehehehe….
Eh Big C! I say she wears blue. Are you going to ask your question?
c_c: re:#44: I agree. Those guys are probably the same one’s who believe people like me aren’t welcome to the Dark Side….
WHAT.EVER.
hehehe….mayyyyyy….beeeee……
stephen should make it comfortable for you too. hopefully he doesn’t crack too many jokes. THE Princess has a hard time laughing and keeping a straight face.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned… 😆
chawan – Are you going to post your “beautiful” phrase to Esme? You want me to do it?
Das’ right homes.
btw: Good morning, all!
morning gang!
another generic question:
when was the last time you cut your hair?
homey,
nah, you can do it. i’m already too lame. don’t want stephen to try to get me another date.
Must be dress rehearsal time.
hmmm, i’m going to say purple
Loa – #54, same to you!
homey ℞ – this morning 🙂
“What’s far-ful and brrrrown???”
Loa – Esme says “ferful” or “perupero”.
Rob25..does the instigator of a KK have to do the first song of the evening?
Off topic..
Garret..regading electric cars. GM and the EV1 was around over 10 years ago. It went 0-65 in less than 10 sec. Cars was eventually destroyed. Not sure why.
Nissan introduced the Hypermini in 1997. Me thinks Pasadena county leased a buch of them for their fleet. Afte the leae expired in 2006 Nissan refuse an offer to purchase the fleet and destroyed them later.
Toyota in 2003 introduced the Rav4-EV 4×4. After the leae expired in 2005 they also destroyed the vehicles.
Not sure why but the technology is there and I hope by now improved. I don’t want to get into consipracy theories but it seems real funny that the price of oil and gas went sky high and continues to do funny things everyday now.
BaseBows had a good road trip. Need more improvement but you can see the quality of the devolping talent. this weekend series with Coastal will be telling. I look for them to challenge for a title this year.
Go Warriors!
ok, i give up, what?
#60 – Your kids Barney in his diaper?
@A-House – We do cue Leila and Stephen when they’re live. There are lots of moving parts with pushing the broadcast to the live audience, recording on our equipment in the back-end and making sure the talent knows when to start.
We’re still working on getting the timing tighter and we’re trying to improve each week.
Thanks for the input and thanks for watching!
NSF – I think that’s a GREAT idea!!! Frank is the one who wanted a KK with the Tsaikos, he’s the instigator on this one.
Samson to the Raiders, right on. He could be the centerpiece for a rebuilding OLine and flourish while helping developing Jamarcus Russell.
Loa??? You don’t know dat Frank Delima song???
C’mon…..try…cause I’m laughing to myself here…AGAIN..people think I’m crazy. Don’t know why…
SteveM: Just saw this on your site about Karaoke Kall III:
6:45 PM and vacated at 11:45 AM.
Wow, that’s going to be a lot of singing! (And eating. And drinking.) 🙂
Also, I saw this link, and I thought it was funny:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29791614/
A naked 14-year-old boy taking a walk with a large white poodle assaulted a woman in Michigan, police said.
The boy walked away from a behavioral treatment facility on Monday, Sheriff’s Lt. Craig Mast said. He was strolling unclothed in Hart Township with the dog when he encountered a 53-year-old woman in her yard.
“The young naked man approached her with this poodle, and she immediately realized something peculiar,” Mast said.
I would think there’s something peculiar about a naked teenager walking a poodle! Now, it’s something I’d expect from homey … 😀
I gotta run; I’ll catch the replay of the show. (Wow, I have a backlog of about four or five shows to catch up on.) Someone cause trouble with Nanay Esme for me! 😛
1
Colomaohana – who’s Frank Delima?
Pauoa Boy – i’m with you on that, good to be wanted, plus isn’t the head coach a former oline guy
Question for David Veikune…
First off, good luck with your NFL career, you remind me of a modern day Al Noga. Being a rush-end at UH, how do you feel about the possibility of being used as a Linebacker in a 3-4 package at the NFL level?
Question for Ray Hisatake…
What has been the hardest transition to make from the DLine to the OLine and do you feel you have and advantage as an OLineman knowing DLineman tendecies?
online – how about some shots of the studio audience?
loa….hisatake already get crew cut these days.
Loa – it is almost like asking the news camera men to take some shots of the fans watching football practice. there are some things that shouldn’t be shown.
Howzit, Stretch!
hi Big C – I bet you are waiting for Esme to make her debut on the V-cast. I am sure she will do okay.
Aloha Everyone,
It’s been awhile since I have given you an update so thought I would take this opportunity to do so now. Florida Ted is doing well, improving each day. He still is not able to sit on the computer and blog, and this makes him very anxious and frustrated. He wants so much to thank you all for the lovely cards and warm wishes, they really make his day. He received one card from Kelli Horita, so many nice greetings! He is wondering how you all got together to sign the card.
Another special item he received was from Jerry Anaya…a wonderful picture of your special group…..oh, how I wish Ted and I could be in a picture like this (with all of you). Such a fun and loving group you all are. Think I enjoy all these cards and correspondence as much as Ted!!
I hope someday that we can meet each and everyone of you.
I am still trying to get him some speech therapy. Today we did go to see someone, filled out forms and wait to see if he qualifies for funding. All in all he is doing really well, still has a sense of humor and we manage to laugh from time to time.
Again, thank you all for all your concern and well wishes…..sure wish I had your group here with me when he was in the hospital…but felt your love and ohana. God bless you all.
Its a beautiful day so I am going to take my favorite man for a walk in the sunshine, look up to the sky and thank the Lord for a beautiful day, and my darling Ted.
Much love,
Florida Patti
Dear Esme….how about some live Karaoke to warm up the audience….smaill kine commercial break….and Koakane wit da Mean Green Bottles.?????
Ten Que
Chief Lurker
aloja Tsaiko’s!
Florida Patti – good news and mahalo for the update.
too bad i can’t watch ST and Esme, missing out i know. go get’um “Mother of all mothers” [hope i got that right?]
Florida Patti – Thank you for the update! Looks like Ted is on very good hands. Take care and one day, I too, hope to meet you and Ted. ALOHA!
Patti:
Please tell Ted that there should be no hurry to get back on the computer and blog – the Tsaikos will be around for a long, long time and will await his return when he is ready – it may be a single word or as many as 5 words, but it will lift our spirits and cascade a rainbow from Hawaii to Clearwater.
Ted, it took billions and billions of years to form our universe and it’s still at work – time will also be with you!
Show hasn’t started yet and there are over 350 viewers waiting to watch!
Ai soos, homey, no tell Esme that!!
homoey – 600+
Esme is one popular Mama
Ray, thankyou for being a warrior and part of our ohana.
Q: what are u doing training wise that will improve your game–strength, technique and quickness?
Discuss. please
Lunch time…
Yup…also need some stealth technology built in too. 🙂 Doesn’t apply to Esme though…
I assume lavalier mics for th broadcast– don’t give Esme a wireless mic to twirl… 😉
WHOA!!! BIG C WAS ON THE VID!
Florida Patti — thanks for the update on Ted. Glad he is improving and we know he will join on the blog soon!
Esme is a good interviewer! I’m impressed!
WOOOO HOOOO esme strut your bad self!!! HIIIIIIIIIII
Florida Patti,
Good to hear that Ted is up & about. It’ll take time, but enjoy the days as you walk through them. Praying for you two.
Ray:
Thank you so much for being a Warrior.
How do you feel about doing the haka? Is that something that the team still enjoys doing?
As a Bay area guy, did you follow the Raiders or the 49ers?
Best of luck to you next year. I love your aggression and your power game and I think this year you are going to open a lot of eyes.
Esme is doing GREAT!!!
HA needs to buy a new bigger table. When there are 3 people, ST sits on the side away from the table and can see his opu. Need to hide it.
LOL@ Stretch
1036 viewers!
I see the tsaiko’s name tag but where’s the pink top?? lol
chawan – it went up to 1065.
I can’t see the video from here…I was wondering if anyone looked far enough right to notice ST yet…. 😛 😆 Thanks, Stretch.
The underwear is pink.
homey you better watch out she’s going to get you with the rolled up newspaper!!!
stephen looks uncomfortable.
Finally she asked my question! Sheesh!
chawan – maybe he needs a bathroom break.
Winnah! 😀
That was a good show.
Congrats d1
see homey she read your question and look you, your being soooooo mean to her LMAO
When I first got to the page with the video, the first thing I thought was “Why does Stephen have a hibiscus in his hair?”
Esme you did great!!!
You guys are kissing up to the wrong blog host….
ST you were GREAT as usual! 🙂
no sweats.
although she going come here and read all this and then be all like…. “What you said homey!?!?”
maddiesmom – you should have seen the question I asked. It must have got moderated because it didn’t show up on the screen! 😆
online:
Much better than last week – only goes ot show that you guys are really stepping up on making this one of the premier shows in Hawaii.
Is there a way to “cue” an interviewer to move closer to the mike so we can hear all the dialouge including any questions asked? Like 1) waving to get the attention of the speaker; and 2) using a separate mike with motion(s) of moving the mike closer to the mouth.
duffer, talk about kissing up! 😆
Esme:
Excellent job filling in for Leila – you looked very “natural” in this setting!!
FloridaPatti,
Thanks for the update on FloridaTed.
Just be b>sure you want him talking like his old self again? 😆
Nah, just kidding. Hope you keep getting better Ted! 😀
I think Red Dirt was Big C.
hey duffer I just read what you wrote on “the pink side” lol
Thanks maddiesmomE.
Congrats to Rob14, too.
i guess that the blog questions were over looked 🙁
i think d1 has the new modern day video chat record for most questions posed and answered. wasn’t it at least a dozen?
but, oh no. i am not jealous.
Almost 1100 viewers on today’s show.
esme….you were fantastic!
al – Either overlooked or you pissed her off. 😆
al,
Maybe esme can only read kanji! 😆
Florida Patti (re #78)
Love to hear the positive news coming from our Fla ohana! Tell hubby when he gets frustrated, to remember the time tempered ditty: “Plan your work. Work your plan. Give your plan time to work”.
Sounds like the present is a practice in patience…something all of us would like more of! lol If he can lurk now, it’ll just be a matter of time before he’ll be chattering away! Ted (if you’re reading this)…”no need be perfek speling and gramma”.
BG
pretty soon they’ll put esme on permanently.
renaming the show, the leila n esme show w/stephen tsai
esme,
agree w/ al, very nicely done.
You get the Rolaids Award for the WB this year.
homey, d1….thanks for the words of encouragement.
homey,
Look, now al is working on pissing off the Princess!
al,
Stephen who?
smooth d1…..that was smooth.
florida ted….very glad to hear of your improving conditions.
Really enjoyed the show. Hisatake just has a good feel to him. Liked how he came across. Good job Esme and ST. Hosting is not an innate ability…takes some work.
First time watching…can’t watch at work. There are some advantages to being laid up for a day or two. Also got on the internet and made my reservations for the UH-UNLV game…thought I had it done last week, but it seemed to have dropped into the cyber black hole. NOW, I can get on SteveM’s site to update my info. BBL
Re-Ray Hisitake
First things that come to mind as I watched the video is that Ray is personable, looks like he’s been in the sun, spends time in the weight room and is very comfortable in front of the camera.
First impressions are good…
…The part where he says he tried to get others to follow him to Hawaii makes him likable already in a lot of people’s eyes. Mine for sure.
An aura of dedication. An aura of unity are a few of the thing I sense from Ray, for he goes on to say, “We have to get ready, we have to train hard so we have enough in the tank for the fourth quarter”.
Easy going and relaxed Ray answers the questions thoroughly, sometimes pausing to laugh before answering, which I see a lot of pleasantness in him. And which I picked up really quickly in the interview, and one of the qualities I like about him.
As I reflect back on the show, Ray exudes IMO a lot of leadership and from what I see on camera he strikes me as the type of person or team mate I wished I had on my team if I were a player.
To sum everything up I was impressed with Ray’s persona, his appreciation to playing for UH and his focus on the upcoming season. Good luck to Ray Histake and his fellow team mates that good bounces come they’re way as they prepare for the upcoming season.
sry mispell a=i
Aloha everyone
Okay, homey…what? re:#89
HA! Opposing defensive linemen are not going to like their “feel” on Ray Hisatake!
KAAAATOOOOSSSSHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m sure they are not going to find Ray Hisatake so “personable”.
GO WARRIORS!!!
Hi braddah Kazz!
Love to Florida Ted and Patti!
Great show today, errybodee!
2 more hours til LiLu time!!!
Be sure to watch Band Champ tomorrow night on KHON Fox 2 at 9pm and VOTE – especially if you like Second Nature!!!
Whoosh!
just pulling over something I posted in the Mommies site. tell me what you guys think
Howzit Everybody,
Royson16 I gotta agree with you. Ray looks to be a very humble person that just wants to go out there and do the best he can to represent the school and the state. I really enjoyed the interveiw and I wish Ray and the rest of the boys a very successful upcoming season.
Hisatake showed well and for the most part was very articulate.
He accounted well for himself.
His 22 reps @ 225 lbs is an underachievement for his 320 lb size, frame and senior class.
That is what a good RB can rep.
Haku Correa is a frosh and does 32 reps with 225lbs.
Haku is a DT–wonder what Hisatake’s DL opponents will be repping when they line up against RH this year.
Last year RH was part of the OL that was huffing and puffing for oxygen after runnijng a 40 yeard sprint….I didnt hear any specifics in his conditioning that tells me he is working on running other than a few vaque references.
Ray also mentioned that Brian Smith is the smartest coach he played under….c’mon dude, get real.
Brian Smith set two infamous sack records in 2 consecutive years as OL coach for Portland State and UH.
Im looking forward to Gordie Shaw who coached Big 10 offensive linemen.
Dunno his IQ compared to Smith but I guarantee our OL will improve and will be able to run more than one 40 without blacking out.
Who cares if he wears aloha shirts, eats ulu or walks with rubba slippas.
WTH???? Stretch….Um…it’s official….You ARE gonna get lickens when I see you next……
fanny- what benefit to the team do you think your comment #146 will produce?
Whoosh!
HIsatake says Nate Ilaoa is going to be helping out this spring.
that would be an interesting guest to have on
FloridaPatti,
expect something in the mail from me too!
Coloma – I guess I better not show up Friday….
Unless you like that sort of torture..
Coloma – no say that, Koa-mahu may be lurking
eh, LIZ, I always enjoy your posts and especially Kauai,
the isle that never minced words with suga when it came to the Suppa Fairy.
Jim Donovan is willing to meet with our Southern California readers.
Tentative plans are to meet at the ESPN Zone in Anaheim Thursday evening (probably starting at 5:30 p.m.).
Rich2176 and Ronnie are in charge.
Hey, after that, they can hop on on over to the UH-UC Irvine volleyball match.
Big C – I’m just saying that the Mom’s TV commercial played and you were on it. That’s all. Sorry, fell asleep.
Was I the last person to see this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgSDXYMwoQI
Streeeeetch – no worries, you’re not my type. i like guys like Chawan and J (J). mmmmm.
FloridaPatti: A bunch of us got together for dinner/bowling one night, and so we thought to get a card and have everyone sign it. Kelli (midori7) was the last one with it, so she mailed it off.
And thanks again to chawan_cut for what he did for FloridaTed. Too bad those acts of kindness aren’t enough to woo Princess Leila (or any other woman) … Even kindness and generosity can’t overcome lameness. 😉
homey: WTH? Sleep??
Whoosh…. skreetch!
warriorfanny… haha… re da SF- SOME people feel dat way… not ODDAH people.
ODDAH people are waitin for SOME people to move somewhere else and make dakine about what dey no like ovadere…
Didja see my new table and benches? (click on name) SOME people like hemo da 1M trees dat will keep dis place running but no trim da rubbish trees in Koloa because the souls of dere ancestors are somewhere in dere….
Never the less… it takes alll kinds to make a world… but the world will be sweeter when people put people ahead of things and express themselves with more kindliness.
RRRRRowr…. whoosh!
Stretch,
Maybe Nasti can help Alema & RInk at the training table. J/K
Hey gang…man, it’s been a long couple of weeks and hardly had time to drop by. Hope all is well with everyone. Just wanted to stop by for a few and say hello and see what everyone was up to.
duffer – thanks for the info. It is an option for that weekend.
ST – You might be one of the 10% that did not see it. It was posted on the blog.
Big C – BTW, who were the other moms on the commercial, besides you and Esme?
Dang, (J)J!!! Wasssssup!
j/j
Who won that contest? And who were we voting for? I mean the mom, not JaSmine. 🙂
Looks like MLiz has been drinking the same medicine koakane drinks.
ST #159- yup…das an old one. Here’s the retort:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dy4M-5y5_PE&NR=1
Jjjjames… what you finally get day off???

Liz…no, just a short break time….haven’t seen the light of day for at least a week now…come in to work when its dark….leave when its dark…horrible…
homey…voting?? what voting??? Mwahahahahahaha
Big C…why? You need more kids??? BWAHAHAHHAHAHA
haha..(J)J…and….does everyone else (one person in particular) know about that change?????
And, OMG! hello?? You could only vote ONE time (a day, I guess)…so what you did, you PSYCHO??!!! Use your 20 different multiple personalities and vote again and again???……
😉
Ok…got to see the replay of the Whoosh & Tsai Show and was pleasantly surprised at how well David presented himself. Esme was doing a very good job of filling in for PL, and ST…well he was just being his usual cool 😎 self. D-1 and Homey, questions were spot on.
Now that the show is mellowing out technically, I think the viewers are able to relax and enjoy the show more. Kudos to Scott, John and the tech crew for their hard work.
Big C..nah, dats one thing I cannot do 20 times a day….BWAHAHAHHAHA
(J)J makes donations at the bank.
Uh…I have no problems in that department (J)J…OBVIOUSLY….hence the 7 keiki…..Bwuahahahaha..hehehehe….
Tuition, brah, tuition……babooze!
One would be safe to assume NASTI NATE will be back at Manoa to help show our HBs how to REALLY POUND ‘EM IN!!!!!!!!!
YESSSSS, homey?? Cat got your tongue?
Eh, homey, how you know that??
Mama C-Ta ~ You are on cruise control girl. Just relax and enjoy da ride. Schools need your chirrun to justify all that stimulus money. Dey gotta take ’em in.
Jason,
Thanks for the compliments, I think???
Where is everyone? Watching the Esme and Tsai Show (EATS)? I need to catch up with it one of these days. One day I will not have any meetings or problems with the kids.
Right. In my dreams. HA!

GO BOWS!!!
Regarding #146
I could be wrong but I don’t remember Samson Satele being able to do a huge number of reps at 225#’s. I thought the problem with our O-line last year was poor footwork and balance. This though might have been due to so many of them being injured.
I’m glad that Mac is doing this again. This is great for Hawaii high school coaches and is great for their relationship to Mac and his staff!
David Veikune got a nice review in this article on ESPN.
This New Jersey state senator is suing the Justice Department regarding the federal ban on sports betting. If his lawsuit works, then each state will get to decide if they want to allow legal betting on sports.
I think that this sports writer’s agents really went too far…asking for $1 million per year in this economy?
I’m glad to say that at this moment (it might only last 5 minutes!) everyone else is “it” and I’ve done my part of each of the different projects. It was nice to be able to look around and post some stuff. I can’t wait until this period is over and I can watch the ST/Esme show!
The NFL just adopted 5 new rules. All of them seem to be geared towards safety concerns.
Miami’s head coach talked about trading Samson.
So… Kale Ane will be part of the UH coaches clinic as he has a portion of the program all to himself….
The Pac-10 got a new commissioner. This could be important to UH in a number of ways, including scheduling and the Hawaii Bowl.
I’ll try to be back in 3 hours…
Garret #201: So it looks like Karl Benson will be sticking around for the foreseeable future…..
201 and 203 . . . Shucks.
Hey…who is Rob14?
Why does Rob14 need to be congratulated?
I just spoke with JD. He’s in SoCal visiting family and has expressed, actually insisted, that the LoCal Tsaikos join him and Kindashy Thursday evening to eat pupus and talk story. Ronnie is scoping out an alternative site since there is basketball on Thursday and the ESPN Zone location may not work for us. Either Ronnie or I will post tomorrow to let everyone know where & when. Hope a lot of lurkers can make it. Email me or Ronnie. My email is rich2176 (at) yahoo.
Now at the present time video is really very great tools for many people especially who are away from home country or home town.
rich2176
are you anywhere near huntington beach?
i may end up in that neighborhood mon/tue/wed.
Robxx,
-14 is where you were when I congratulated you. 😉
al,
If you’re in that neighborhood, why not come out to the “suburb”, too?
I’ll be there from Monday. 😉
rich2176,
I’m in proposal hell right now, but hopefully all 3 things will be signed and out the door by Thursday. How late will you folks be wherever you are? I doubt I can make it for 5:30pm, but if I can spare the 3+ hours for driving (darn rush hour) round-trip, I should be able to make it by 6 or 7.
Scout.com’s top 300 recruits for 2010 list came out today and I did a brief scan for recruits from Hawaii. This is what I found during the quick scan.
128: V.J. Fekoko (4 stars)
237: Graham Rowley (3 stars)
241: Kona Schwenke (3 stars)
I know that scout hasn’t updated the schools list for several recruits, so I don’t know how accurate the lists for these 3 players are. When scout.com themselves has an interview with a recruit in Texas and the recruit lists 4 schools, and the scout list doesn’t list several of those schools in their “interest list” for the recruit, I don’t think their list updating is foolproof.

Howzit Colomaohana! I had to leave the blog because one of the companies I’m working with sent me something urgent. I finished what they needed and got back to the blog.
It sounds like Miami’s head coach thinks that Grove will be better for them at center than Samson because he has better weightlifting numbers…this kind of relates to a discussion earlier in the blog.
Ralph — Kazz’s preliminary tailgate email indicated Cabana C. We have had C before so I did not think it unusual for an April tailgate. Anyway, BG or Kazz can reconfirm…
Miami is focusing on the pass rush, specifically looking for a college DE that they can turn into a pass-rushing OLB. With their bringing in David Veikune for an interview, this could be an interesting team to watch in the draft for Veikune.
Alright warrior fans, it’s getting closer for spring football. It’s should be

spring ball is around the corner and where is bighilo? Samson is traded and no word from the him…Mr. L L you should have bought a new computer cuz staring at the keyboard won’t unfreeze your mouse cursor nor can you view the WB..

HONOLULU – University of Hawai`i head football coach Greg McMackin and his coaching staff will conduct the 2nd Annual Warrior Football Coaching Clinic Saturday, April 18 at the UH Athletics Complex. The clinic is open to all football coaches at a cost of $15.
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and includes instructional sessions conducted by the assistant coaches throughout the day. Participants are invited to watch the Warriors’ practice at 3:00 p.m. Lunch and post-practice refreshments will be provided.
“Last year was our first clinic and it was a huge success with coaches ranging from Pop Warner to high school,” McMackin said. “I’m really looking forward to this year’s clinic. We’re still looking to instill the basic fundamentals of coaching and we have a terrific staff who’ll share their knowledge, including two new members in Gordy Shaw and Chris Tormey.”

Eh! OK!
So I’m watching the Hisatake vid with -sports and she tells me, “why is there a humongous flower in ST’s ear?”
Does it mean he’s “available” or “taken?”
Yes. Be nice to Rob25 — she’s new at figuring out RSVPs. For example…
homey almost never says on the blog or in writing that he is attending. But considering his past attendance record at ALL large Karaoke Calls, his pink friends, the only guy to get (and earn) a Bomber shirt, his famous adventure rides home… well, his response to Rob25 last night was as enthusiastic as it gets. 😛 😆
Something to whet the appetite of those who going Journey tomw….

Whoo-hoo! Gary Locke, our former governor, was approved yesterday as the new Secretary of Commerce. There are two more Washington people awaiting confirmation hearings and approval.
Looks like Lingle’s putdown of Obama is really paying off for her. Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
Nearly 20 hours (1200 minutes) of parent conferences and I have all of 150 minutes scheduled with parents. Their apathy is pathetic. And we are supposed to raise their kids’ test scores?

i agree with your assessment about last year’s oline features.
but this is a new year. i like Gordy’s smell. but da unknown, Coach’s real time decision making, is gonna be da key dis year. on dat one, we’ll see. Its not on RH’s head, we’re talking about decisions at da highest pay level.

One WAC school and 3 MWC schools cracked this preseason top 25 list from CBS Sports.

Florida International has to cut more than $1 million from their Athletic Budget for the coming year! And this is after their teams had a good year…
Wow Nate Ilaoa is on board now huh? Is that just for the Spring or does he plan to be there in the Fall as well. I know the AFL is not in session this year which could be the reason his time is freed up. Does this mean B Smith will begin to work his way towards the door? Ouch!!!
Does Fuamatu-Maafala have any coaching experience
good morning tsai-ko country 8) anoddah beautiful day in Hawaii
early shout out to bhf2 and happy trails to jm#’s
patnah going call dis am so no use up all the juice.
something interesting thoughts JJones brought up with nIlaoa and bsmith if true.
Good Morning Everybody. Hope everyone has a good hump day.
Kekoa,
thanks for the info. very much.
Koakane,
howzit bradda! 😀 about JJones thoughts.
I think Coach Mack has shown he is not a quitta.
he’s giving BSmith every shot at being
a very sound coach, now he’s giving him
experience at dis level and bringing in some
great teachers and leaders who cannot help
but improve the whole team, incl. coaches.
for me, BSmith was not da great communicator
it wasn’t just da occasional stutter, it was dat
da Warriors on da Oline neva pay attention to
him last year. I think they’ll pay more attention
to him now though. know why? he get backup.
their job is partly to make him look good. and he will.
thats my edumacated guess. 😀
‘viriliter age’ my pnw cuz how you hanging today?
have a hidee hooo day peoples!!!
Go Warriors!!!
bhf2 I hope you correct on dat. like cmak and undastand gotta correct da ship but he brought in bsmith for a reason, just like know if he still believes in dat reason. cause waiting to hea about bstutzmann situation.
heh how dem local moko at cafe 100
Great Morning All!
was interesting to hear Hisatake’s assessment of coaching styles and his view of BSmith as a “knowledgeable yeller”
Hope erryboddy has a good day.
NoHiHo today….
koakane,
Da lines are now open.
(Did someone say, BaseBow tix?)
New post up!
University Athletics is buisness. Football is a branch of the overall Buisness that Mack is ultimately responsible for. Bad buisness moves have been made before resulting in broken promises hence the “Stutzman Project” Great move by Mack it did land their top WR recruit. I am sure an improved OL unit is what was expected from the BS experiment which has went sour and is now been shuffled around. As bhilo mentioned “da Oline neva pay attention to him last year.” Position coaches shouldnt need backup for their players under the position they coach. There is a thing called Dead Weight not trying to be harsh but with UH trying to expand the use of the RB beyond an additional lineman his skills, background, insight to how to make a person miss, catch the ball, set up the blocks will not be his strengths. Instead of trying to make a coach into something he is not, (He wasn’t even that good at something he was) Cut your losses and upgrade. As mentioned its a buisness and a buisness trying to create a new identity, with the Run and Tight end. If he couldnt fire up the O lineman who he could better relate to there wouldnt even be a flicker for those he cant relate to.
Go UH Warriors
july……stutz2 was committed to the warriors well before the stutz1 deal. i am not sure what kind of “promises” were made since most ga positions are for two years. of course, rumors abound, however, only mack and stutz knows exactly what was discussed at their meeting.
July not June, u begin to touch on a sore spot, re RB coach, but mahalo for scratching the surface and revealing a legitimate issue.
This coaching position has been neglected too long.
Since, JJ, we havent seen a legitimate RB coach.
IMO, we have suffered as a result.
The trend continues.
I wasnt a Gerke fan but at least he changed some drills and worked his players during agility drills.
He also had drills that emhasized ball handling but….that is where it ended, once the RBs went to 7-7 or 11-11 his contact with his players wasnt consistent becz he would shift over to OL with Smith.
Basic stuff during live drills were lacking such as shuffle pass snags.
Many times our RBs had their palms turned the wrong way–simple basics.
Look, this position deserves a legitimate coach that can apply basic fundamentals of ball handling, stepping, cutting, ball shift, grasp, spinning, clutch and cover-at-contact skills.
Either the coach has actual experience and communication skills or has had success in coaching that position.
We have gone through Wes Suan, Gerke and now Smith.
Nasty is proof positive how a good RB can contribute and make this r-n-s system GO….if only, we could get a legit RB coach–we might have more consistency–year to year.
video is really very important tools for showing the truth to any one remotely.
