All set

From the starting quarterback (David Graves) to the uniform color scheme (black/green top, white pants), the Warriors appear set for tomorrow’s regular-season finale against Brigham Young.

While many have made uniform suggestions, the Warriors have a limited wardrobe. For home games, they have a predominantly black jersey with green sleeves. Next year, Under Armour will provide a predominantly green jersey with black sleeves, as well as a camouflage-patttern jerseys. There are no plans for game-ready white helmets.

For the first time in years, a UH game will not conflict with the lighting of the big Christmas tree at Honolulu Hale.

Congrats to Ashley Lelie on being named the commissioner of the Hawaii Gridiron League.

Happy birthday to Jimmy Reith.

How nice to hear that Chris Petersen will NOT be taking the UCLA job. BSU football is so frickin fortunate its unbelievable.

With Petersen, its never been about the money. He seems to be a man of integrity; loyal and grateful to Boise for the opportunity he was given.

The only thing that would make him leave….is the real opportunity to win a national championship, coaching a team in a BCS conference.

Im not sure how much longer he can go on being perfect (or near perfect: one loss) and keep getting snubbed by the BCS.

    Dan-O,

I want to say he turned down a shot at Notre Dame. Would he turn down USC, Texas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Alabama? I dunno. But if he indeed turned down Notre Dame, he probably doesn’t care much about whether its a glitzy big name, big resource BCS program or not.

When it rains it pours and BSU has itself a treasure. Who knows, he may be the next generation of Bowden/Paterno type coaches who build a program from a nobody to a national powerhouse and brand name program. Would be great to see that kind of loyalty in college football coaching.

Crowd should be over 7,500 tonight thru the gate, maybe 8,000.

Students should be in full force again as they were last night.

Starting to agree with ST as far as the supposed 10,000+ seating capacity. Im thinking more like 8,700-9,000 actual seats at the most.

  26. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 9:35 am

I think there are a lot of coaches who are loyal and would love to stay with a program for a long time.

Sometimes getting fired interferes with that commitment.

  27. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 9:39 am

    Kevin:

I would try to count the seats, but then I would have to keep starting over because of my attention-span problems, and, after a while, I’d probably forget why I was counting.

Besides, counting things makes me sleepy.

But back to the point: Yes, I’m always amazed when the arena appears full only to learn there were 3,000 empty seats. Only explanation is the SSC doesn’t have 10,000 seats.

  28. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 9:41 am

By the way, Leahey’s my pal, but I just can’t call the arena the “Stanley,” because we never referred to Sheriff as “Stanley.” It was either “Stan” or “Sheriff.”

  29. Kevin December 2, 2011 9:41 am

Last night did look about 500-700 less to capacity.

I should be there early enough to TRY to count seats tonight… we’ll see…..

Boise State hired an AD yesterday and their selection might have been a factor in Petersen staying. Reports had been that the months without an AD had given other schools an opening to try to woo Petersen.

Boise State announced Kentucky Deputy Athletic Director Mark Coyle as its new athletic director at a 5 p.m. press conference Thursday at the Allen Noble Hall of Fame.

    http://voices.idahostatesman.com/2011/12/01/bmurphy/boise_state_name_new_athletic_director_5_pm

  34. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 9:47 am

    Kevin:

Might be right on that. On one end line, there are several hundred seats (where the band and the UH students sit) in the lower bowl. On the other end line, there’s room for maybe 15 people in the portable section.

  35. Stretch December 2, 2011 9:47 am

ST – I wonder if SSC counts all the workers as part of the attendance, like Aloha Stadium??

  36. Garret December 2, 2011 9:48 am

UTEP’s AD says that the MWC/CUSA alliance is moving from football-only to ALL SPORTS. The merger is supposed to be made final later this month.

“There’s a transition in the league that’s happening right now,” Stull said. “That again, the Mountain West and Conference USA are basically merging. Th initial thought was football only, but it’s moving more toward all sports at this point.

“It will be done by the end of this year. There was a 90-day window that we thought we could even get transitioned to next year. But right now what’s happening is all those people talking about going to the Big East, there’s been a lot of obviously issues on that happening, so we don’t really know who’s in and who’s out at this point.

    http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_college_ucf/2011/12/utep-athletic-director-bob-stull-says-c-usa-mountain-west-moving-toward-alliance-in-all-sports.html

  37. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 9:49 am

    Petersen was never going anywhere.

  38. Garret December 2, 2011 9:50 am

C-USA apparently will be playing a lot of games against MWC schools…does that mean that UH will be playing *conference* games at Marshall, Southern Miss, and so on?

“I can tell you that merger will happen with the Mountain West. Unless something really dramatic happens, we will do that. And there’s a fairly good chance we’ll be playing a lot back into the west side. Especially if we lose SMU and Houston to the Big East, if they go there, then obviously most of the Texas schools are gone and it makes a lot of sense for us to play New Mexico, Las Vegas, etc. But that’s still speculative and in process.”

Whoa.. a merger for all sports? What about football only Hawaii?

  41. Garret December 2, 2011 9:52 am

If CUSA and the MWC merge, then the Hawaii Bowl will need an opponent from another conference. Unless the payout increases significantly, the Hawaii Bowl will need to find a conference that doesn’t mind losing a *lot* of money…CUSA loses a ton due to low bowl payout, subsidizing the high travel cost, being charged for 10,000 tickets to the game, etc.

  42. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 9:53 am

    Stretch:

I think it counts the student workers, because you have to be on the sign-up sheet at the bottom to enter.

I’m not exactly sure what Aloha Stadium’s real capacity is. If they count the workers, then why is a sellout listed as 50,000? It should be above that amount.

  43. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 9:55 am

A UH person told me yesterday the whole thing with the CUSA and MWC merger isn’t really about becoming an AQ conference. It’s about breaking the MWC television contracts, and then begging ESPN for some morsels.

  44. βρεω808 December 2, 2011 9:56 am

  45. Derek December 2, 2011 9:57 am

Quite odd that BC is picking BYU to beat UH. As the play by play announcer he’s saying Mack, the coaches, and the players that we will lose. What kind of vibes is he making? Seems like there are negative ways to me. Woof, woof!!! For someone who is that close to the program he should be singing a more positive spin. For most of us casual fans, well, we tend to be more critical and complain a lot, but we all want Hawaii to win.

  46. βρεω808 December 2, 2011 9:57 am

    …like – 9,808 and 50,808! 😆

  47. Dan-O December 2, 2011 10:04 am

Derek….BC predicted we would win the ones we lost, so maybe its a good sign!

  48. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 10:05 am

    Derek:

These contests get competitive down the stretch.

Plus, it’s not too fair when some people are compelled to pick the home team all of the time while others are not.

In 1996, Perry & Price basically staked everybody 12 games.

  49. Garret December 2, 2011 10:07 am

A UH person told me yesterday the whole thing with the CUSA and MWC merger isn’t really about becoming an AQ conference. It’s about breaking the MWC television contracts, and then begging ESPN for some morsels.

I’ve been seeing statements like that for over a month now, that the MWC and CUSA gave up on AQ status and want more TV money through the alliance. They have thrown out the number of double the TV money they currently have…so the MWC schools would get about $2.5 mil/year if they get their goal.

Problem is that ESPN already has been filling up their content needs, getting the big conferences from each region of the country to sign with them. They also signed BYU to complement their Pac-12 content for the West/Mountain time zones, and they have the LHN for the Central Time Zone. The LHN includes the WAC’s UTSA, so ESPN could always pick off teams that way to buy more TV rights.

ESPN also signed the WCC for basketball content and they still have the WAC.

ESPN negotiated with CUSA less than 6 months ago and offered them *less* money than they got from Fox and less than half of the time slots that Fox offered to give them. So ESPN clearly didn’t care about CUSA earlier this year but now they are going to? If BSU isn’t part of the MWC, is ESPN going to throw huge money into the pot when they low-balled the MWC the last time when the MWC had Utah/BYU/TCU?

  50. Old Diver December 2, 2011 10:07 am

Didn’t realize it but BYU has played eight of their last nine games at home.

  51. Garret December 2, 2011 10:08 am

If the MWC and CUSA merge, does that mean that UH will be traveling to the Eastern Time Zone for conference games and will be subsidizing the travel to Hawaii for those teams from the East?

  52. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 10:10 am

    Garret:

The key word I used was “morsels.”

  53. Garret December 2, 2011 10:11 am

Didn’t realize it but BYU has played eight of their last nine games at home.

    Old Diver,

Many websites are actually misleading about BYU’s home schedule. It looks like BYU played TCU at home since the schedules say “vs” instead of “@”, but the game was actually played at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium…that is *much* closer to TCU than BYU.

  56. Kevin December 2, 2011 10:12 am

Far easier to count softball attendance. Those hand clickers are cheap and I was playing around with one last season.

I know the capacity is listed at 1,200 but I’m thinking more like 800-900 at the MOST comfortably. But then again that doesn’t count the dozens of kids sprawled out sitting along the fence and tucked underneath the bleachers.

  57. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 10:12 am

Can’t put the genie back in the bottle.

The only way UH won’t be paying travel subsidies is if it goes back to the WAC.

Hey, that’s what happens when a school is in the middle of the Pacific.

Hmmm. I wonder if I can copyright the phrase Denial Isle?

  58. Kekoa December 2, 2011 10:13 am

  59. Garret December 2, 2011 10:14 am

    Garret:

The key word I used was “morsels.”

Yes, I caught that but I don’t see how the MWC will get a big payday from merging with CUSA. If the 2 conferences merge, they technically will just get 1 automatic spot with the NCAA and they will have to give up the NCAA basketball credits from 1 of the conferences…that is something like $20 mil in basketball credits thrown away!

Or they could make the merged conference a new conference…throwing away $40+ mil in NCAA basketball credits!

  60. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 10:14 am

Nope. Perez Hilton got the phrase.

    ST,

I am *not* disagreeing with you or what you heard. I do not think that UH can actually stop the merger since the commissioners and key Presidents of both the MWC and CUSA seem to want the merger.

Having the MWC lose all that NCAA basketball money doesn’t affect UH as much because UH basketball will be in the Big West.

I just don’t see how the MWC will make a killing on TV money under the merger. It is clear that everyone understands that the MWC has been horribly underpaid under their current TV contract and that it was a factor in BYU leaving and has handicapped all of their schools…but I hope that they have noticed that if the MWC doesn’t exist anymore then their $20+ mil in basketball credits won’t be theirs either.

If we repeated as WAC champions, we MIGHT… MIGHT have been able to try to convince the WAC to pay US travel subsidies if we returned.

Well at least they MIGHT not have laughed as hard if we attempted to swing that now.

For football… the Big West is too much of a better deal for our other sports.

  74. madeinhawaii December 2, 2011 10:39 am

If we stay in the WAC, we keep our PPV, right? MWC then loses the 2 million in PPV? … hey? Isn’t that good for some renegotiating clout, now?

  75. Stephen Tsai December 2, 2011 10:44 am

Brew always gets a pass on exclamation points because I’m never sure whether he’s creating art or being a wiseacre.

  76. Garret December 2, 2011 10:44 am

I don’t think that I’ve ever seen a complete breakdown of the BCS money that goes to non-AQ schools. Here is a summary–I can go into more detail if anyone needs.

$12.5 mil is split among the 5 non-AQ conferences, based on how well they did in nonconference games. Losing bodybag games *kills* a conference here. The top-rated conference gets 5 shares, the bottom conference gets 1 share:

$4.2 mil will go to the MWC (using current conference power ratings)

$3.3 mil will go to CUSA

$2.5 mil will go to the WAC

$1.7 mil will go to the MAC

$0.8 mil will go to the Sun Belt

If Houston wins tomorrow, they will automatically get the non-AQ spot in a BCS bowl:

$8 mil will go to CUSA

$4.5 mil will be split among the other 4 conferences–$1.1 mil each.

If Boise State gets chosen as an at-large school for a BCS game, the MWC will get $4.5 mil. That is the same amount that a 2nd school from an AQ conference will earn for their conference.

So, under the current system, the MWC and CUSA will together make $21.1 mil from the BCS this year if BSU gets an at-large selection, or $16.6 mil if only 1 non-AQ team gets to a BCS bowl.

If the MWC and CUSA merge, the biggest winners will be the WAC, MAC, and Sun Belt since they get bigger shares of the BCS money…and the AQ conferences will not have to worry about having 2 AQ schools make a BCS game in a year so they will keep the extra $4.5 mil for one of their conferences.

Apparently NMSU’s marketing department is sending out a scare message to get fans out to the game.

Yes, apparently New Mexico State football can, at least if we believe the school’s marketing department, somehow get worse. ….A combination of 1,000 students and individual game tickets must be attained on Saturday, or the Aggies will not be eligible for a bowl game next year. … But with New Mexico State having appeared in three bowl games since 1893, whose counting anyway? ….

Can’t speak for any other section at The Stan, but we sit right in the center section BB opposite the volleyball team benches four rows above the concourse. There are twelve seats in each row and more seats were empty than filled in Rows 2 through 6 in NN during the second match.

Several people moved into them after the first set started from other areas.

If you have relatively junk seats tonight, check out this area after the first set starts to see if there any seats left.

CHANGES OF SUBJECT: What’s the latest information on the Tsai-ko holiday party?

DrDoc and I are marching in the Kaneohe Christmas Parade tomorrow and will stop by the the Na Koa party since we don’t expect to arrive at the Stadium until around 1 pm or thereabout. By then, the T-Gate will have been broken down so the food we’re bringing will be served at the Post-Gate.

If a certain team moves into the Sweet 16 next Friday, will there be a T-Gate at The Stan?

  85. Capitolist/WassupDoc December 2, 2011 11:35 am

Whoops !! Not Section BB but Section NN which is right in the middle of The Stan

  86. Don Weir December 2, 2011 11:43 am

Just had a cup of kope with David Eagle from UH’s 60’s team. Many of the players that paved the way for us who came later are planning their reunion at the St. Louis Alumni House tonight.

Good time to stop by and say hello to legends of UH Football History.

  87. Garret December 2, 2011 11:46 am

Nice feature on UH with a lot of quotes from Graves and Mack.

Asked if there’s still a connection to the good old days, Hawaii quarterback David Graves says yes.

He points to last season, when alumnus Colt Brennan gave a fiery talk to the football team before it faced Nevada.

“Those teams around those Sugar Bowl years are definitely ones we all look up to now,” said Graves, who continues to start under center since Bryant Moniz went down Nov. 13 with a season-ending injury. “That’s something no one around here will ever forget, but we really think we can get back there. We have an advantage because we know it’s been done here before.”

Hmm.. now it’s June Jones to UCLA? … That would be kind of interesting…

  89. Old School Dave December 2, 2011 12:05 pm

#89: June Jones to UCLA? At least he can get his fill of local food by driving down to King’s Bakery in Torrance.

  90. A-House December 2, 2011 12:11 pm

    hey, MIH:

#89 would be good so UCLA will schedule home-n-home football games with Hawaii.

bad news is that the California players UH recruits will now be on the UCLA radar – who to play for???????

  91. 海外抓姦 December 2, 2011 12:19 pm

Good idea, Can be considered a learned thing, ok.

  92. HawaiiMongoose December 2, 2011 12:22 pm

Garret, perhaps the Alliance is hoping that ESPN will sever its ties with Big East football and redirect that money and coverage to the Alliance. If Louisville and Cincinnati jump to the Big 12, it may be a realistic hope. It’s notable that ESPN’s contract renewal offer was rejected by the Big East earlier this year, and talking heads on the “Worldwide Leader” have been saying a lot of negative things about the conference lately in the context of discussing BCS rankings and bowl bids. They haven’t been very complimentary toward Boise State either.

  93. kev-1 December 2, 2011 12:26 pm

JJ to UCLA? Where are you hearing that?

Also, the other day, ST wrote that JJ says “he has a job and a contract” and he wasn’t going anywhere. After the secret negotiating he did when he was with UH, I wouldn’t believe a word he says regarding his job. Still respect the guy as a coach and what he does for his players and communities. But the guy is a shark when it comes to secrets and deals. Can’t blame him one bit though.

  94. kev-1 December 2, 2011 12:27 pm

Bryson . . . I am so with you about the matte helmets. Those are sick. Especially with a camo look.

  95. wafan December 2, 2011 12:32 pm

    WWF!

    Weekend and Warrior Football!

    Whoo-hoo!!!

  96. madeinhawaii December 2, 2011 12:42 pm

Maybe they’re just rumors in the Scout.com discussions. But got to remember, Jones also contacted UCLA in 2007.

  97. madeinhawaii December 2, 2011 12:43 pm

If he does go to UCLA, he could probably offer Mack the DC job for just about what UH wants to pay Mack.

  98. kev-1 December 2, 2011 1:10 pm

Don’t know if its already been posted, but here is a nice write up about Kealoha Pilares.

  99. iwonderwhytheyhateme December 2, 2011 1:10 pm

JJ and Mack as DC at UCLA? That would be a pretty awesome combination. Our best seasons at UH were when the 2 were working together. Mack UCLA is willing to throw some big money, especially with Sumlin pretty much out of the picture as well.

  100. iwonderwhytheyhateme December 2, 2011 1:15 pm

Boise can’t seem to find a place to put its non-FB sports and that is the hold up on the Big LEast move.

Air Force is still up in the air without totally being for the move.

SDSU wants to move to BE and is working with BSU to get into a conference for its other sports. Most likely the Big West.

JD, please vote NO on Big West expansion.

    That is all.

  101. madeinhawaii December 2, 2011 1:17 pm

Yep… and with Mack as as stickler for academics, UCLA’s APR would move back up from the low-930’s to the 940’s again.

  102. madeinhawaii December 2, 2011 1:21 pm

Our passing game has to be near perfect to beat BYU. Between Austin and Graves we need to get a near 80% completion ratio. BYU’s greatest weakness is apparently against the air attack.

  103. 99club December 2, 2011 1:29 pm

Brew’s #40 with the youtube link…classic. LOVED it.

“Have a little faith baby, have a little faith.” 🙂

Happy B-day Jimmy! If you are in Asia on Uncle Sugar’s dime, make sure you get a passport and plan on seeing all the countries you can while over there.

  104. 99club December 2, 2011 1:30 pm

    Warriors-

Take it easy on the BYU QB…he has hurt ribs.

    Carpe per diem Warriors!

  106. 99club December 2, 2011 1:34 pm

    #101 IWWTHM –

“Air Force still up in the air…” Good one.

  107. 99club December 2, 2011 1:37 pm

So the handshake at the end of the Hawaii Bowl could be “See you in L.A.” Hmmmmm….

  108. 99club December 2, 2011 1:41 pm

    For Garret:

    A neutrino walks into a bar…

  109. Innocent Observer December 2, 2011 1:45 pm

they should wear all black – to honor the last game for coach mack.

  110. madeinhawaii December 2, 2011 1:51 pm

    Innocent Observer,

Who’s got the money to buy out his last year? If he’s not offered anything better, he’ll be around for another year at the very least. And because of the type of person he is, I think he’ll still give us his all till his very last day.

  111. Stretch December 2, 2011 1:57 pm

JJ & Mack working together?? Not going to happen

  112. Old School Dave December 2, 2011 1:59 pm

UH not the only school with unhappy students at games:

  113. Steve Paschal December 2, 2011 2:01 pm

Could not agree more. Coach Mac may not be a big time winner like Peterson or some others, but you know we get the best he has, and for me?—I can live with that for another year and who knows, maybe he gets better.

    ya THINK!!….KOOL eh?

  116. Ralph December 2, 2011 2:30 pm

3 teams from the Pac 12 fall in round one of the wvb tournament-California, Oregon and Arizona. Washington defeated W. Michigan today. Stanford, USC and UCLA to play later today

  117. Slugger December 2, 2011 2:35 pm

    Congrats to Ashley Lelie!

    Happy birthday, Jimmy (we-hardly-know-ye)!

    GO WARRIORS!!!

    GO WAHINE!!!

  118. palolo December 2, 2011 2:47 pm

I think JJ would move to UCLA. The weather would be better, golf courses better, and closer to his home in Kona. The Rose Bowl would be his home stadium with 50,000 to 80,000 per game instead of the 12,000 at SMU. He always told Bobby Curren how much he loved Hawaii and next thing you know he was at SMU. I think he would enjoy the challenge of the new Pac 12 with all that TV money.

  119. HawaiiMongoose December 2, 2011 2:56 pm

IWWTHM, I’m with you on Big West expansion. JD please do whatever you can to keep Boise State out of the conference. UH shouldn’t have to send basketball or volleyball teams on 8-12 hours trips to Boise. (SDSU we can live with, but NO travel subsidies!)

  120. Ralph December 2, 2011 3:20 pm

K State takes first set from Nebraska, 25-22. Go ‘Cats.

  121. LizKauai December 2, 2011 3:36 pm

We’ll be there tonight as usual.

As for following the game, check out Oceanic Time-Warner which is showing it live to see if it also be streamed . Also check out http://www.hawaiiathletics.com/index.aspx and look down the page towards the specific events as well as the volleyball page to see what is being media-wise tonight.

One down five to go. Off to The Stan.

    WDoc . . .

Thank you for the leads! The UH site looks to be the only one streaming the game. Odd that KKEA is not carrying the game. Must be an archaic and obscure No Clue At All rule.

In any case — Go Wahine!!!

  140. wafan December 2, 2011 5:25 pm

    Suh! No, Suh!

People cryin about some talking about UH football HC replacements yet yammering on about another program and their HC opportunities.. nothing to do with UH at all.

God.. at least discussing a new HC at UH during times of mass disinterest shows concern for our program…

  255. Not an Expert December 2, 2011 11:25 pm

Recruiting California, Washington, Oregon and those neighboring states will allow UH to get top athletes from those states if they were in the PAC-12. The majority of the school’s roster are players from the state of California. The Oregon and Washington schools have a pretty large amount of athletes also from California besides their own home state. Not many players who live in Oregon play for the Washington schools and vice versa. Stanford the only school with players from many different states not only California due to their academic standards.

UH has a lot of California athletes on their roster. I can only imagine UH getting to compete with recruits of the PAC-12 caliber if they were a member. If so UH could become a top 10 school in many sports. Maybe part of the reason they don’t want UH. On the other hand those schools in the PAC-12 might be able to recruit athletes from other states telling them they get to go to Hawaii every 2 years.

  256. Not an Expert December 2, 2011 11:35 pm

Congratulations to the Wahine Volleyball Team. Shoji the dean of coaches and I cannot help but believe that Robyn Ah Mow-Santos has brought an ingredient to the team that helps them to become even better.

Good gameday morning Tsaikos. Beat BYU! Carpe per diem!

    Off topic:

Just read that Florida Atlantic’s Coach, Howard Schnellenberger, is retiring after today’s game against Louisiana Monroe. What an interesting career.

Early 60’s: Alabama O coordinator under Bear Bryant. Three Nat’l titles.

Late 60’s: Receivers Coach for the Rams

Early 70’s: Miami Dolphins O coordinator during their perfect season

    ’83: National Championship at Miami

  262. Kekoa December 3, 2011 3:19 am

Niner-niner club ~ I wonder if that Florida Atlantic coach would consider *retiring* in Hawai’i?

  263. Kekoa December 3, 2011 3:30 am

Hmmm…Kupuna Coaches, starting with coach Tomey, Mouse Davis & add Howard S.

Might even be cheaper cause they’re drawing Social Security!

  267. 99club December 3, 2011 4:59 am

Kekoa- I think that Fl Atlantic job was his “ride off into the sunset” job. I still want to keep Mack! Although, UH probably won’t be able to pay him after next year.

According to the article Liz posted a few days ago about the last time BYU was in town and took ‘lickins, they lost their starting QB in the 1st half to injury. It’ll be interesting to see how effective Riley Nelson is with his sore ribs. His backup has a 9/8 TD/INT ratio.

  268. wafan December 3, 2011 5:36 am

    Good game day Saturday, Warriors!

  269. 808realism December 3, 2011 5:41 am

    Kev-1,

JJ secretly negotiating?? You MUST mean when Herman Frazier neglected to deal with renewing his contract until it was too late. You also must be really ungrateful for what June Jones did for our program to say such a disrespectful thing – that, or you’re just an idiot who didn’t realize what you were saying.

    GAME DAY!

Go Warriors and congrats to the Wahine who put on a great show!

  272. ballpicker December 3, 2011 6:37 am

Im making the prediction that the Warriors will score late in the game to pull-out the victory and then we all can celebrate a great weekend of University of Hawaii sports.

This is a special game for the fans of Hawaii and would like to see this game become an annual gathering so we can commence with the familiar sounds, sights and rhythms of a rivalry.

    Go Warriors…Beat BYwhooooo…….

  273. ballpicker December 3, 2011 6:38 am

    Let’s get this party started….

Hope you all have a great Game Day!

Gotta meet an old army friend tonight for dinner. Hope I can sneak some UH time on tv!

    Go, Warriors!!!

  278. Kekoa December 3, 2011 7:01 am

99rclub ~ Agreed!…something magical happens when these 2 teams square off. If you go toe-to-toe with a guy that says he wants to kick your okole, it’s on him. What he won’t expect is your ability to bring your best stuff, and being relentless in using every tactic you can muster to defeat him.

Simply put, “it’s the fight in the dog, not the dog in the fight!”

    BEAT BYU…Again!

  279. Pomai December 3, 2011 7:01 am

    Let’s get that blue bird:

    I’m always chasing rainbows,

    Watching clouds drifting by,

My dreams are just like all my schemes,

    Ending in the sky.

Some fellows look and find the sunshine,

I always look and find the rain.

Some fellows make a winning sometime,

I never even make a gain, believe me,

    I’m always chasing rainbows,

I’m watching for a little bluebird in vain.
