Hartong with sixth double-doubke, Uiato’s fourth, career-high in kills for Manu-Olevao (13).
From Shoji: It was a struggle for us but we pulled away at the end of each sets. Think our physicalness was key at the end. they were a very unorthodox team, lefty middle, lefty opposite, active setter who kept us off balance.
We have to play better tomorrow aginast Creighton, a very good team who is ranked and has been ranked the past couple of years.
It’s going to be a short turnaround but a good early test.
May or may not be back. have some things to do and it’s already been a very long day.

Mahalo No, Cindy
Keep Winning, Na Wahine!
Take the night off Cindy. Wahine will have to play way better for sure. Next two matches will be tough.
just finished the rewrite.
think i will take take the rest of the night off.
see you all tomorrow.
Hopefully, the wahine will be in-system tomorrow after struggling offensively against SD.
Our middles hit for high percentages but were set only 10% of the time. That remains a poignant issue. Next two games will be a daunting challenge for the wahine. We need all the firepower we can muster and less attack errors–18 was above our average–we need to adjust quickly to the turnaround–the next two matches features quality opponents that will be gunnin’ to knock-off a top 10-team. Best wishes to Coach and staff and go wahine!
Wahine will be rested and ready. Coaches will have game plans and adjustments ready. Roster will perform up to and above expectations. And Wahine will win. May not be pretty, may not dominant, but will be win. Don’t see seniors or role players backing down one inch or giving away games. Go Wahine!
4. I hope the team starts running the offense through the middles. I know Emily is good but she will be even better when she gets split blocks all the time.
Good to get the 1st game out of the way. A good warm up and feel good match. They should play better tomorrow now that they`ve played a match in that area and have a feel for it. Agree with everyone that the Wahine will have to play better the next two matches against good opponents. I think they will be up to the challenge and know doubt know what`s at stake. Go Bows!!
I’m surprised the Wichita State match was the first match. I always figured that the home team would be in the featured match.
Oh ya. I liked the fact that during the latter part of each set, the Wahine turned the gas on and closed it out. Earlier this season, they would let up and the other team would close in.

Actually, Hawaii plays Creighton today and Wichita State Saturday. See Schedule below.

8. Oops. I think I misread your post. You were referring to the match already played, a conference match held before the Hawaii-South Dakota match. It was not part of the tournament.
Are you ready ?
Here’s what I’m thinking this morning.
Creighton got to watch Wahine vs SD,maybe not all that impressed with the #7 team, thinking this is doable.
Stats : For what they are worth the Wahine are out hitting the Bluejays .313 to .244, Creighton out blocks them 3.1 to 2.2. Wahine commit less errors on serve receive and the rest of the stats are pretty equal.
Crowd Factor: Early match not many WSU fans who probably don’t care who wins anyway will be no shows but Creighton is just a 5 hour drive for their fans. However Creighton only averages 1,100 at home so I don’t see many traveling for this early Friday match.
Has the biological clock caught up? Probably not completely, studies by the airline industry say it takes 1 day for every time zone.
Interesting note about time zone changes. Sand player Sydney Shinn from Florida, who has been here since August, frequently tweets about still not being completely adjusted to the time change.
LC, don’t think anyone was impressed with the way the Wahine played. Bet their going to dbl up on Hartong, knowing that she’s the go to player.Hopefully the Wahine is all rested up and ready to go. Go Bows!!!
Whoever wrote that headline in the SA said “Wahine cruise past South Dakota”
help me out… whats the thinking of playing long more than kastle?
For those who purchased last night’s video and/or a weekend pass on Shockervideo.com, and did not like the fact there was no audio: I complained by sending a message to the billing department (see help menu on your account page) and asked for a refund. I received a message today saying they are refunding my money. In case anyone else wants a refund. Be sure to tell them the reason is the lack of audio/announcers during last night’s match.
# 17 Thanks for info. Todays is very good cause Blaine is the announcer.
15. Don’t know who wrote the headline. certainly not how my my story was written.
