Wednesday report
• Middle linebacker Corey Paredes and center Matagisila Lefiti have both been diagnosed with sprained PCLs. They are expected to be cleared to practice Tuesday, and will be available to play in the Oct. 14 nationally televised road game against San Jose State. The Warriors depart Oct. 12.
• Middle linebacker George Daily-Lyles was not able to practice today while recovering from a strained knee.
• Right slotback Miah Ostrowski said he will be available to play against San Jose State. He has missed the past four games because of a foot injury. Ostrowski and Justin Clapp, who has 22 catches as the replacement, will split reps.
• Quarterback Stump Godfrey, who was on personal leave because of a family emergency, resumed practicing today.
• The Warriors believe they have corrected their problems with blocked PATs and FGs. Six have been blocked this year, with all attributed to either a breakdown in protection because of inexperienced personnel or poor snap-to-kick timing.
• The Scout Bowl is scheduled for tomorrow morning. It will be a full-contact, 35-minute scrimmage (quarterbacks are not allowed to be hit). Bryant Moniz and Royce Pollard will coach the offense; Paredes and Richard Torres will coach the defense. First snap should be about 8 a.m.

Watching a San Jose game recently, looks like a new field turf was installed. Or did they just spray paint over the old natural turf?
Nothing worse than that san jose dirt/mud. Kudo’s to JJ when he voiced his opinion then after the ’07 game
There all tough games.
That UNLV match is the weak cockroach flying around that you cant kill with the rubber slipper. All of their 3 losses were blowouts.

yep.. looks like SJSU has found their legs and are starting to play as a team. They lost badly to Stanford, tied with UCLA 17-17 at the end of the third quarter when size started to matter and UCLA’s ground game ground them down to a 27-17 finish. The next week, they almost beat Nevada but their pass into the endzone in the waning seconds of the game got intercepted and they fell 14-17. The next two weeks they went on to beat NaMaSU and Colorado State… They will have a bit of a swagger when the Warriors roll into town.

does Viki sell those videos?
I normally go to Beauty Touch to purchase, but people tell me they are one of the most expensive -Costco has, but very limited number of DVDs or shows.
Ya I watched dat ucla game. They play gud at home esp. Qb play has gotten better. Very athletic. Ya I agree with u. I like their coach and wat he is doing there.

SJ will have an added “special” incentive with Dick Tomey on the Warrior sideline.
no need kick extra points. just go for 2 all the time.
Ever notice how “sleepy” coach Tomey looks on the sideline?
Wonder if he is still on California time…
could be he is sleepy from all the restless night before the game hoping their are no blocked kicks.
sheesh, i no mo guud grammah. ai kalamungai.
…could be “snake eyes”, waiting to bite…
Should I stay longer for the game? Very tempting. But I miss work.

Christmas is his and his team’s goal, now—even if they win
their conference.

i’m impressed with “How Fast” Stanford, Washington, even WSU have righted or re-elevated their worst-in-class sinking ships and Oregon, Oregon St. before them– i’m guessing it helps to have sig. budgets, good infrastructure and D-1 Class athletes — then it comes down to schemes and coaching staffs …
The newer teams like Colorado & Utah (AZ & ASU before them) might take a while to get a solid foundation;
Hawai’i dropped and recovered pretty fast @ FVAppen, BNash
Good morning everyone!
Congrats Hawaiianbod!
RE: Calm ‘Sleepy’ Tomey
i’m guessing the Assistant’s Job — even though he’s clearly enjoying it, doesn’t have the every-second, every play intensity of the HC’s job, whether calling plays or not …
When he was on BC a couple of days ago, he was just as intense and forceful as ever … (even made BC sound meek)
… i think it’s a good bet that JJ ends his coaching career here, too;
although he’s always liked Houston … [Tomey, Mouse …Mack, Gib]
Once you’ve already made enough money …
Coaching on a Good Staff in your favorite place IS a Good Deal …

A-House,
Viki obtains licenses to show those videos online. I don’t think they sell any of them. I usually hook up my notebook with an HDMI cable to my TV to watch.
Justin Vele’s unko was at practice…next time he should come to the field side of the fence.
Special Teams practice was going on when I got there…probably the whole first half of practice. Then the ‘younger’ students practiced. Nice to see what they can do.
Good morning Tsaikos… Happy Hump Day!!!
Congrats HawaiianBod….woohoo, wear ‘um to the next T-gate…
Jojo…stay…have fun…enjoy the extra Vakay…. 🙂
Eh, where’s gramps???? homey??? DPK???
It would be interesting to see JJ, McMackin, Tomey, Mouse and other retired coaches as a consortium of mentors to young up and coming OC, DC, QC, WR-C, etc. Each can be the “head coach” for a particular game or two — determined in the pre-season … let the OC and DC call the shots, intervening only when deemed necessary.
They probably could start up some kind of coaching clinic here … with golf benefits before and after to raise funds for their charities.
#34..Postmanke….Classic…I can totally see that happening in the huddle…
“Okay Gangee….dis is it…dis is da championship game…We going snap ’em, hold ’em, and den kick ’em…so bruddahs rememba….BLOCK…”

Good Morning Tsai, Warrior up! What’s fo lunch? lol
I already extended my vacay once. If I extend again will I have a job? Lol oopsie!
Well, if gotta extend one more time…gotta do it…otherwise, you’re going to come back to work and be, “Uggh…why didn’t I stay longer?” 🙂
But I’m already wishing I was at work! I did my email this morn & wondered why no one was getting back to me. Hello time difference! Oh man, what a weird sickness I have. But then again, I wouldn’t be checking the blog from work and learning about “special.”

A-House,
You can try online sites that sell Korean videos.. here’s one that looks pretty good.
http://www.yesasia.com/us/0-0-0-bpt.46_cc.152-en/list.html
I fly back Wed. I can make Thursday, though.
Who is Ette? Lol
Stephen, I never heard about Ben Clarkie until recently. Is there any highlight fim on him? I noticed he is from the state of Colorado. Also, Dustin Adams, 2012 recruit is from North Dakota. These guys are not from hot bed communities or states that have big time football. Did Gordy Shaw recruit these guys? Now I know these big farm boys are huge, but I’m not certain about their talent level and their athleticism. What did the coaches see that these guys are good for our program? I don’t want to stereotype them, but like I said it is a fact that N.Dakota and Colorado are not known for having a lot FBS recruits. On a per capita basis Hawaii is way up there in Division IA prospects. Where does N.D. and Col. rank? Still, I hope Dustin and Ben will turn out to be future contributers for the team.
Thanks for the 2011 recruits progress report. I enjoyed that very much. In your opinion,
who are the top 2011 recuits who have produced the most so far? Obviously, Mike Edwards is probably at the top of the list. If you were to put a grade on it, what grade would you give to the top 5 or any of the others. I know redshirts can’t be evaluated because they’re sitting out the year, but I’d also like your opinion on their potential based on what you’ve seen in practice. In other words, who are the “future” stars. Thanks a lot.
jojo…stay till friday…may as well make it to sunday.
do you know the way to san jose?
Al….Aiiigooo…MWAAGGAGAGA
Umm…so wait, lunch is next Thursday??? Where at??? 🙂
I remember surfing and came across a historical costume Korean war drama and thought I would like to see the whole series. I think it was A-House that mentioned I just saw episode 64 and that there were something like 1xx episodes!

Scout Bowl tomorrow morning.
First chance to see Stump Godfrey in action.
Stump Godfrey throws a beautiful ball.
Can stump dew anything, with harding in the slot and london in the middle, and a tank on the side?
Great to hear some of the walking wounded are cleared. Scout Bowl should be fun. Lots of talent there.
Also good to hear of the special teams corrections. Correcting the blocking seems the easiest aspect to rectify. The biggest concern is the lag from snap to kick and the lack of height of the kick. Good to hear they at least seem to think they have addressed all the issues. We’ll see at game time. They have to be committed and confident!
Go Warriors!
What time is practice/Bowl, Mr. Tsai?
(J)J –
Please check your email. Maybe go practice tomorrow? What about you, kk, iwwthm, homey, and anybody else?
Cool scout bowl.
Hooray Scout Bowl!
Congrats Hawaiian Bod
jus’ one question, if u got a real Hawaiian bod,
can u fit one XL?
it would be neat to watch the “game film” of the scout bowl
see what the coaches are really seeing towards the future
(Did I mention that I’m off next Wednesday?
…off island! 👿 )
Whoops. Make that “sprained.”
Ligaments are sprained, tendons are strained.
Good luck on the game video.
There’s still no stand for the sideline video.
darn…picked the wrong day to go off island.
86…is she blond or brunette?
#100, maybe?
ST, are photos allowed at the Scout Bowl?
Maybe we should invite him to watch one of our practices too…

Hello! I could have sworn I’ve been to this blog before but after browsing through some of the post I realized it’s new to me. Anyways, I’m definitely happy I found it and I’ll be book-marking and checking back frequently!
Another Ohio recruit…coaches seem busy on the continent. Mike Edwards must be enjoying it out here…

Now I know these big farm boys are huge, but I’m not certain about their talent level and their athleticism. What did the coaches see that these guys are good for our program?”
you’re kidding right. you think coaches recruit without noticing something that would be a fit for the program?
Yeah, what’s with the “big farm boys” reference? I “know” you well enough from your posts to know that you meant no harm, but that’s a pretty inappropriate term. Unless you like Hawaii kids to be called “pineapple heads” or something.
And let’s let our coaches evaluate talent rather than accepting Scout et al as the supreme source of knowledge. There’s way to many examples where our coaches –THESE coaches, right now — showed they know how to evaluate talent. Nobody’s perfect — except Chris Peterson, apparently — but our coaches do an excellent job.
I wonder if I can use dashes in a third sentence in a row — probably not.
Aw, yes, it should be “sources” because of the “et al” and I do know the difference between “to” and “too” and “two”. And “tu” for that matter.
Updated the blog by the way.
That’s a shot of Billy Ray.

#112 fine.
Wish I could see the freshman “redshirt” running backs in action and Von Ackerman(sp?)…They are players that will make a difference in the coming years.
Will Kevin Spain play in the Scout Bowl? He really looked good until he injured his shoulder…
injured his shoulder.. then injured his face… We had a QB who was injury-prone like that… hope Spain doesn’t turn out that way, though.
Spain was throwing today in the 2nd half of practice. Hope he works at it. He’s gonna have stiff competition from Stump & Jeremy who work with the scout team a lot.
DPK, we all should go to practice tomorrow.
And, No, you really should not be taking pictures or videos of practice. If Derek Inouchi is there, he’ll remind you.
There was someone taking video on the lift by the goal post, but, yeah, there was someone standing by the fence taking video holding a camera on her shoulder. Wonder if Chris Williams was on top of the dorm?
I still have to wonder why SJSU chose the Hawaii game as their homecoming game. Was it because we lost most of our Offense?
eh, braddah HawaiianBod:
looks like you wen scoah with the shirt – U deserve it for being such a loyal supporta for UH!
goin see you at one tailgate latah?
121…
because they deem the warriors as their rivals.
because they deem the warriors as a winnable game.
because they deem the warriors as a program they want to take down for leaving.
because they deem the warriors as a program that will bring many and help the gate.
because they deem the warriors as a team that adorns the uniforms they want.
Off-topic – RIP Steve Jobs. You are a legend.
Good afternoon Warrior/’Bow fans!
R.I.P. Steve Jobs…
Meant to mention a congrats to Royce Pollard on being in a snippet on ESPN’s Highlight Express last night on the best plays of the week run down…
Hope everyone does their best and shines at tomorrow’s Scout Bowl!
My prediction is the Warriors will win!!!
Yo Wafan….What’s up???
Congratulations to H-Bod!
Just the right person to be recognized a WINNER!!!

Definitely not the temperature!
Otherwise, same old same old with the kids. HA!

Uhhhh, yeah. Not going to be able to make it.
Just saw this… This is why Gib Arnold is getting a raise…

could be Hawaii is the homecoming opponent because it is their first home game in october.
123 – What about their ex-head coach coaching for Hawaii?
I am personally elated to see UH coaches reach out far and wide to recruit student athletes where they did not thread 2 or 3 years ago.
This may be one of the key ingredient to forming a core of more talented players as it moves into the MWC and stiffer out-of-conference opponents in the near future.
Wonder what East Coast or mid-West school Jim D will schedule with the Navy game in 2013.
Annopolis should be nice in early Sep 2013.
Damn… Just saw Steve Jobs passed away… Incredible loss…
*groan*
They probably chose the date a long time ago and the WAC schedule is not determined until after that. In the past they could have ended up with Boise!
Steve Jobs, r.i.p.

RIP Steve Jobs.
In the summer of ’88 I sat in a class listening to an instructor brag to us about how she plunked down $55,000 to purchase a Quadritek 1200 photo typesetting machine. She proclaimed that everyone in town will now have to come to her to get all of their typesetting done but, promised to give our class a discount.
One of the students in the class said, “What about that Macintosh thingie the other room. Couldn’t that do typesetting for us?”
“Only if you wanted to play ‘make believe’ and not be taken seriously in the printing industry,” the instructor sarcastically replied.
I’ve often wondered whatever happened to that $55,000 door stop.
RIP Jobs.
Life is short…Be a positive force
You never know when your number may be called
Make memories ~ Bulla
Oh! Now I see what happened….
in the summer of ’88 I was still waiting for my Commodore64 to load a game from the cassette drive!
What ? Commodore? .. jeeze.. not even an Atari…
Of course I had a KayPro with CPM.
AND a Brother daisywheel printer.
What are all these things you guys are talking about??? Are they in the Smithsonian???
139 ~ You’re probably right. These schedules are in progress years in advance…at least they are supposed to be… You can’t always schedule a powderpuff game for Homecoming. (No offense, PP.)
When I was at NAU, more often than not, we’d have Montana scheduled for Homecoming. We lost most of those games to Montana; they were the best in the Big Sky. Now that Weber State has The Beast, the Wildcats are the tough competition in the league. 🙂
Those Montana fans traveled well. They drive in and tailgate out of their RVs. They’d have their spots reserved a year in advance. Guess that gave NAU a good gate for that Homecoming game.
I bought an original Mac in Oct 1984 for $2K, box of single-sided 400K floppies was $50. Don’t remember how much the dot-matrix printer was. Screecher now owns an iPad2 that’s probably waaay more powerful and cheaper.
Ha! I had a TANDY
RIP Steve Jobs.
original Mac? you mean there were counterfeits way back then?
Sad about Jobs losing his fight with pancreatic cancer.
Makes me wonder where we might have been had he lived for another 30+ years.
Wrote my thesis and did my written exam on an Apple IIe.
Thanks, SJ!

Boy, am I old…rip Mr. jobs.
In a Stanford commencement speech in 2005, Jobs spoke at length about mortality and its value as a force against complacency.
“Death is very likely the best invention of life,” he said in the speech. “All pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure, these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.”

#104 You tell me, there are lots of examples of poor evaluations of recruits that did not pan out at Hawaii. Some from Hawaii and some from the mainland. Some examples:
1) Kevin Konrath from Illinois – he came over here and didn’t even make it through the first year, much less the 1st semester.
2) Andrew Pearson from Virginia – he came over for fall camp and left not too long after that and he never played a game for Hawaii. He eventually played at Virginia.
3) Corey Nielson, QB – he stayed for 3 years including a redshirt, but he transferred this year. Many said he wasn’t a Division I level player. He only saw mop up playing time against team that we blew out, like Charleston Southern.
4) Corey Lau, Kailua, SB – he came to Hawaii on scholarship. After 2 years, one a redshirt year, he never played a down in a game. He left the program because he knew he couldn’t make it in Division I.
There are tons of people who tried to make it on the team, but from high school to major college football is a whole different level, just like going from college to the NFL. Recruiting is not an exact science, but I just want to know what the coaches saw in giving these players a scholarship offer. Of course, they think they can play, because they offered the scholarship. That doesn’t mean anything at this point. The big question is “can they play”? I suppose we will find out in due time.
Note, in the 2011 recruiting, the state of North Dakota produced 1 player who got a Divsion I scholarship. To me, that’s not good odds. But, this is a mute point. The players have committed to Hawaii so we support them. As a UH football fan who deeply wish for unparalled success, we are free to express our opinions through this blog. Thanks for the opportunity.
Derek, easy to second guess in hindsight. just accept that the coaches are doing their job. if a recruit doesn’t pan out then that’s life. also get many recruits who don’t start or even get much playing time but that doesn’t mean the coach made a bad recruiting decision. recruited players contribute to the team in so many ways.
look at Corey Nielson, though he didn’t become what many hoped him to be he did so much for the team. he was on the scout team. he offered competition to make others better. you going fault him for that?
yeah, it’s not exact science, but let them do their job and not second guess them unless you are some kind of super duper psychic.
“Now I know these big farm boys are huge, but I’m not certain about their talent level and their athleticism.”
and i don’t call questioning ones talent and athleticism fan support.
Derek, you mean moot instead of mute, right?
another thing, can’t fault a player who is homesick or sees that things aren’t working out while in Hawaii.
Very saddened by the passing of Steve Jobs. May he rest in peace.
wasn’t that Andrew Pearman that left for Virginia?

Remember Dustin Adams, from Tsai’s June 5th, 2011 blog?
“Out of the cold”
June 5th, 2011
By Stephen Tsai
In a whirlwind courtship, it took less than 48 hours for Dustin Adams to fall in love with the UH football program.
“I went up there last week, on Monday through Wednesday, and I toured the college and met all of the coaches,” said Adams, an offensive lineman at Minot High in North Dakota. “It felt good. That’s why I made my decision. Yep, I decided to become a Warrior.”
Adams will sign a letter of intent in February, then join the Warriors in July 2012.
As a junior in 2010, Adams played right tackle. He was named to the All-State team. One college scouting service rated Adams as North Dakota’s top offensive lineman.
A few years ago, a former associate alerted Gordy Shaw, now UH’s line coach, to a promising offensive lineman. At the time, Adams had just completed the eighth grade. This year, Shaw was reminded to check on Adams’ progress.
Adams said he is “almost 6-5” and weighs 285 pounds
RIP Steve Jobs
After seeing the iPhone Siri web page and video yesterday, I commented on how far technology has come and the size of the device/computer today, in this case, smartphone size. The Siri page:
http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/siri.html
This reminded me of a 1987 Apple video called “Knowledge Navigator”, which was a futuristic tablet size computer and personal asisstant as shown in this 5 minute video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRH8eimU_20
I was getting a little bored watching it, but realize it is 24 years old now and the actor could do everything but slip it into his pocket as he leaves. : ) While I do not know how much of the concepts presented was Steve Job’s vision, he was the one to finally make it happen — or bring us to the brink in the current form of the iPhone and iPad2.
I would add this to Steve Job’s credits and accomplishments: Introduced the “Knowledge Navigator” in 2011.
For possible UH 2012 &2013 recruits, here is a pretty good link:
http://www.sportshawaii.com/sh/viewtopic.php?t=38872
Pics of what they look like with their stats, etc.
I’m sure the coaches have their own criteria of what players fit into each positions.. a criteria that has minimum height, weight, frame, footwork, posture, hands, football IQ, speed, motor, and such to start with. They may deviate from the curve if they get good feedback about someone from a trusted source. Unlike the top AQ teams, however, it would be rare for the Warriors to get that built-to-fit type freshman. Our team is more likely to get the ‘build-to-fit’ type potential freshman player. Unfortunately, not all players fill out like Ikaika Alama-Francis or even Pilares. With Hefferman’s conditioning programs, though, I think we will start to experience a greater percentage of success.
Sometimes we get lucky with homesick transfers, or walk-ons that weren’t your proto-typical player but who came back more grounded and mature.
Derek,
Did you get to read this article on how Saban recruits?
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/football/news/story?id=6403943
I started out with a TRS-80 (sometimes called the Trash 80) with a supplemented 32k of memory!!!
I know OLDIE’s wife used to use a Radio Shack with 8″ floppies!.
Before the TRS-80s came in, I had an IBM memory typewriter (before the mag-cards came into vogue) and also one (forgot the brand) that used paper tape to record on!
Now I have a iMac and Mac laptop.
RIP Steve Jobs.
UH and a zillion other colleges offered this young man
a chance to play for us:

(Desert Pines HS – Las Vegas, NV)
(Offered Scholarship)
(Also have offers from Arizona, Arizona St, Boise St, Fresno St, Idaho, Nevada, NMSU, Oregon St, SDSU, SMU, UCLA, UNLV, Utah, Utah St, and Washington.)

Mahalo Kea Akua for Steve Jobs…
His Commencement speech to Stanford is a classic:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF8uR6Z6KLc&feature=featured
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.
If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.”
Of course recruiting is not an exact science. Even on the professional level after watching players at the university level, there are mistakes made – Ryan Leaf comes to mind. Our coaches look at players playing in high schools – what – 3 or 4 years playing experience.
On the pro level, the scouts are looking at players with around 7 years of playing experience.
So some recruits may not pan out – just as some draftees do not.
recruiting is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get
H-Bod ~ Congratz on making that catch! I believe I might have had a shot at it if the DB had not *held* me forever! Shoots…I couldah been a contendah!
KEKOA: How are you doing?
haha…
What dat mean? Sometimes you find a piece of white chocolate in there? Lots of shades of brown… some a little nutty.. others stick to your insides… most will grow on you if you just try em…
…some get put back widda puka on da bottom! 👿
and those exotic ones? I suppose those are an acquired taste. And if you don’t pay attention, they might fall out of the box.. and you might end up with some walk-ons.
Steve Jobs…..mahalo for a pretty damn good computa. And now you can fly….

Very well done.
Just wondering if I could do my own editing. After all, we don’t go on uninvited and just start advertising on their site. Why should they be able to do it on the WB?
All I can say is that second guessing is a fact of life and we have that freedom. All I asked was a question, an honest question. Jeez, have a life. I support the coaches and the players. I just asked a question because I’d like to know what they think and what they saw on their films. Call it inquisitive because I like recruiting and recruiting is the life blood of the program. That’s all. Let’s move on. One snap and clear.

Too much change at one time is no good. All this realignment talk makes my head spin.
Anybody but Boise State…
Mizzou needs to decide where they if they stay or go, Big 12 needs to decide 10 or 12 teams, Big East needs to rebuild based on damage (if any) inflicted by Big 12, then CUSA and MW will finally see who they’re left with…
I was hoping this would be the year where we don’t have to squeeze okole in our seats for PAT and FG attempts. Not yet. Gonna need to see some marked improvement to make that feeling go away.
That was a great interview of Mike Edwards on the Leahy & Leahy show.
#213,
Yeah me 2. We keep hearing that “PAT/FG problems have been addressed” from the coaches.
Usually I let my “fan” side take over and I just believe…but this time I gotta see it first.
Anxiously awaiting any news on DT recruits. Our current two deeps were highly regarded recruits from our own backyard. Really hurt coming so close to the ones we lost to the Pac 10/12 as those seemed to be similar caliber players. I know we have some promising underclassmen and our coaches’ ability to develop talent has been quite remarkable. It’d still be really nice to land some recruits with similar qualifications to two deep rotation. Transfers/JC similar to Kaniela would be fine..
All you guys go ahead and pull up the pants, put away the tape measure and relax for a bit.

Stretch,
Knowing that school (since I went there), I would expect that the students would be expelled. Looks like at least two students on the right were not in uniform and may not have been MHS students?

Word on the street is that the Noga brothers, once again, did not make it into the Circle of Honor.
Submit your protests to Jim Donovan, who puts together the committee.
Re: Corey Lau.
He was a grayshirt in 2010, joined in January 2011, but missed too many meetings and classes.
He was on the payroll for only a semester.
Night, ST!
See ya at practice.
#222,
I’m sure being an insider you know why the Noga’s won’t be nominated right? If not I’ll fill you in later on when I see you.
Re: Recruiting.
Don’t expect any commitments until December, at the earliest.
Most recruits coming in for the BYU game.
And commits might be even later, if at all, if they don’t resolve the head coach’s contract.
Like I said, whether UH keeps Mack or not, it needs to make some sort of decision soon because the indecision is going to cost them recruits and coaches.
Re: Nogas.
I know they’ve been in trouble before, but I’ve been a paid writer for 32 years, and Niko Noga is one of the best UH players I’ve ever seen play.
I know one of the Nogas drove a committee member insane, and that guy probably will never vote him in. Still, there should be weight to what you do on a field, and the Nogas were among the best.
I’ve been to the halls of honor at Washington, Nevada, Houston, Alabama, Michigan State, etc., and they really celebrate their past.
Walk around the Stan Sheriff Center, and you would think UH didn’t have any football success the past two decades.
#227,
From what I heard it goes a little deeper and has to do with some “current affiliations” the Noga’s have too.
But I agree they should be inducted. It’s pretty much common sense to vote them in.
ST,
Switching gears for a moment. Where are you planning to eat in San Jose? Napa Valley trip?
IWWTHM:
Gonna pass on the wine tour and casinos this time.
Our columnist is going to stay up a couple of extra days. I have to get back to work on some projects.

J.R.’s samba was the highlight of the night for me! By far! As Len pointed out, this dance has been the ruination of so many male celebritie-s on this show. An incredibly difficult dance that has gotten the best of contestant-s over the years. However, this was J.R.’s moment! That hip action, those smooth moves. He just owned it and seemed to have the time of his life. He has a natural rhythm and a real sense of musicality-. You cannot be shy in this dance. I call the samba, the diva dance! Together with almost everything which appears to be building inside this particular area, your viewpoints are generally quite radical. However, I appologize, because I do not give credence to your whole strategy, all be it refreshing none the less. It appears to me that your remarks are generally not totally rationalized and in simple fact you are your self not fully certain of your argument. In any event I did enjoy looking at it.
