Vea is new video coordinator

Olivia “Oli” Vea is the Warriors’ new video coordinator.

Vea, who succeeds Dory Kong, joined the Warriors as student manager in 2010. She eventually served as a graduate assistant and then video specialist.

“Oli is a hard worker,” head coach Nick Rolovich said. “She’s very good in the department as far as getting things done and communication. I think she’s earned the opportunity.”

The past spring’s interns β€” John Estes, Marc Moody, Makana Garrigan and Mikahael Waters β€” are now graduate assistants.

 that would be Mr. Green
The best part, besides getting the band back together, is seeing the guys fulfill their education goals too!!
    Go, Rainbow Warriors!

    And Welcome Oli Vea!!!

If Alex Green is “student” manager, can he suit up & play too? Just kidding.

Nice to see former Warriors back w/ the program.

Coach Rolo & co. will do well. Schedule’s tough & recruiting got mental models to overcome but success will progressively come I’m sure.

    Good luck & Go Warriors!

    Awesome news on the promotions!

    Congrats to Oli!

I imagine having that job would be quite challenging and very rewarding. Not to mention one would learn a lot about football when tape is edited for review from practice and opponents tapes too.

    Welcome back Alex!

Great to hear Alex Green is back … I’m assuming that he’ll assist coaching the RBs which will free up Brian Smith to do what needs to be done as the OC …

LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS !!!!!

    Great Afternoon All!

Congratulations to All on their new positions.

Hoping the Warriors will attain new “position” as well once the dust settles on the season. Much anticipation.

I am really liking John Estes back in the fold.

I am very impressed with how Rolo is conducting his business. So many former Rainbow Warriors are back in the program not like our former coaching regime. I have good vibes that our program is in very capable hands and our student/athletes will love playing for this coaching staff. We’re not a last place team….as it was in 1999 you gotta “Believe”

    aloha everyone !!

good to see so many positives up there this season….compared to the negatives from other seasons..

this coach has the enthusiasm to go with his walk…is good for 6 or 7 wins in my book…walking arm on arm on the field… does not generate excitement….

now if S n M n KOA would JUST get behind him with some innovative promotions ETC…young mind…young ideas….will light up the scoreboard n bring back sum exciting football

  21. A-House July 28, 2016 7:15 pm

a coaches strategy for playing 3 “body-bag” games to start the season

    do you keep using your “1st team” offense and defense players until they are all beat up;

    OR,

do you “platoon” your 2nd and 3rd team players to give them an opportunity to “grow” by playing several rotations against the Power5 teams and give the 1st team a much needed rest

some, if not many, will say that is the most stupidist [ how you like my spelling ] idea — really? how would you know if its never been done? arm chair strategists/coaching? will it cost the game? well, what were the odds of wining anyway? possible upset? slim to none!!!

ah, the beauty of being a couch coach/critic!

  22. H-Man July 28, 2016 9:12 pm

A-House, I give you credit for putting it out there. My “armchair” response to your question is to play the game as you would any other game. Rotating players (except for the QB position) is normal and I would not do it any differently regardless of the competition. And oh, I do not consider the game against Cal as a “body-bag” game.

    Welcome back, Alex Green.

I rooted so hard for you to succeed at Green Bay.

When you got your first start, I was yelling every time you touched the ball.

Even though things didn’t quite pan out, most of the comments I read about you on social media was mostly positive. Fans liked you. The most common observation I would read was that you were good at protecting the quarterback.
