I know there’s some policy where weather-system updates are announced every six hours — at the 5 and 11 o’clock hours — but, sheesh, if people want to keep alarming us about threats, why not move it up to 3-hour increments? Or every 2 hours?
It also seems we need more instructions than horde bottled water and tape windows.
Will there be temporary medical areas? Can a price cutback be implemented for elderly or poor people who require medications?
    But I digress.

    ST,
I agree. You’d think they might advise if windward side of Oahu will be getting the brunt of the storm, which seems logical, but no mention in the news. I saw a guy getting hurricane clips for his house in Kalihi.

Oh yeah, I heard one news cast saying not to put tape on the windows because it will result in larger glass shards than without.

Opening game vs Colorado will be shown live on CBS Sportsnetwork; 10pm PST, this Thursday, Sept. 3; here in the SF Bay Area on Comcast channel 418 or 732 (HD).

Check our your local TV provider to find CBS Sportsnetwork on yours.

Hope we can shock Colorado and wake up the Warrior Nation; GO WARRIORS!

    Good morning everyone!

I’m optimistic… practicing at night and on the actual field and time of the Colorado game might give us some sort of home field advantage aside from no air travel and more fans…

If you live where you will probably not have to evacuate under severe weather, your current everyday potable water tap will work until the electricity goes out. Got pot, pans, buckets, and plastic water jugs and even empty water bottles to refill? Used to be a 5-gal plastic water/gas container costs as much as a case of bottled water at panic prices.

Sad to hear that Joey Iosefa was waived by Tampa Bay. I guess I won’t be following that team this year

    #8 Steve,
If you live in a house the water system has enough head to provide water when electric power is off. If you live in a hi-rise apt or condo that uses electric water pumps (and no generator back-up) to get water to higher floors then you’re right – no power, no water.

Draw fast and smoke ’em MAX.
This game, this season, is your time for redemption.
Hawaii may be more than 5,000 mi away from Bristol, Conn. The sports media-mecca of the globe. But through the pulse of technology, you are a heartbeat away from instant recognition. Only, Colorado, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Boise State stand in your way. In 5-weeks, your 5-year investment in college football will define you. Let the force be with you.

    8. SteveM …. Is the practice at UH or Aloha Stadium tonight ?

  13. C-Pop August 30, 2015 2:58 pm

Bummer about Iosefa being cut today, I watched game vs Bengals and he played FB lead blocking he struggled finding defenders & blocking not good sign as FB. Hope he can find another team or practice squad to hone his skills as blocker

Un. Hawaii OT Matthew Norman went to high school with Colorado FB George Fraizer, he is a beast!

Good opening weekend for the Wahine. 3-0. Next week Iowa, american, and UCLA. Lets see how our depth and heigh match up to some better competition. On to football.

…anyone know how the weather will be. To cook or not to cooj, that is the tailgate question.

  18. SteveM August 30, 2015 11:42 pm

    Re: #10
Islandman — I was too exciting thinking it was at Aloha Stadium too. Oh well, can’t have everything I guess.
But I would be in favor of night practices for every game under the lights.

Game notes are out……weather outlook is shaping up at least according to weather authorities……expecting a wet game at least sporadic showers during game. Hey it’s only water! Looked at a few articles about CU and 3 new defensive starters appear to be in place 2 JUCO and an Air Force Transfer at LB. The background on them is not daunting so it looks that maybe just maybe new defense new coaches and new players might yield opportunity. Still think this is a toss up with slight favor going to home team. Mistakes will determine the outcome of this one. Fumbles picks and drops will be the key…..still have yet to decide on some specialist duties. Doubt is good for the other guys…..the other guy is us. Go Warriors!!!!!
