You were without power this long?

  3. PONO July 25, 2016 7:02 am

Daniel Lewis is one of the few east coast guys who have stuck it out. Looking forward to a big year from him.

    You have an amazing brain…
Where did you develop your writing talent?
In your youth or later years?

I came here for the Strip Tease

But seriously, how do they promote MWC football? Like what kind of marketing tool do they use? Or is this a way to get better lines at the sports book?

I dunno why Rolo decided to bring Ikaika to represent the offense. I thought maybe he should have brought Harris, since he had a 1,000 yard rushing last year will be the highlight of the offense.

  9. Duster July 25, 2016 10:43 am

#3, Daniel Lewis is from Louisiana.

Great pic! The Warriors are winning the hearts and minds of Hawai’i and fall camp hasn’t even started. More evidence of the careful planning and strategy in the promotional part of the picture by Coach Rolo and the staff.

Vegas should be interesting. Coach Rolo knows how to wage a charm offensive for sure. Good luck to both player reps.

    Hi jojo!

    GO WARRIORS!!!

Dave – sorry for your loss, happy for your restoration. 🙂

It’s funny but next Stephen Tsai’s place, I think Puowaena or Punchbowl is usually the first place to lose power and one of the last to get it back. We were lucky last night – power stayed on the through the whole storm.

  12. Da Punchbowl Kid July 25, 2016 11:23 am

*but next to Steven Tsai’s place – that should read above.

  13. Shoko July 25, 2016 11:35 am

Is it fair to say that since Woolsey will be representing the Warriors at MWC Media Days then he is slated to be the starter this season?

  14. Rodney July 25, 2016 12:05 pm

    Paul Harris should of been
    at MWC rep Hawaii.

  15. Rodney July 25, 2016 12:07 pm

    Would of took the kicker
    instead of our Qb .

  16. Stephen Tsai July 25, 2016 12:26 pm

Rolo is gonna audition the seven quarterbacks. He won’t name a starter until the middle of camp.

Haley Joel Osment saw dead people, I see literary references.

The heading is a reference to the Carl Hiaasen novel, right?

Hiaasen novels cheerfully exposes how corrupt the local politicians in Florida are.

I am okay with Ikaika Woosley as QB.

Remember, everybody was scared to death at the outset of June Jones’ inaugural campaign with Dan Robinson at the helm. Remember the season prior when an assistant coach embarrassed Robinson during a live feed concerning Hawaii’s matchup with BYU by telling him the Cougars didn’t want him? I felt bad for Dan. He looked so humiliated.

Ikaika has been at UH almost 6 years. He’s earned the right to represent the team at Vegas starter or not. Wasn’t he part of Mac’s last recruiting class?

  19. H-Man July 25, 2016 1:13 pm

I think Rolo took Ikaika because of his senior leadership. He may not be the starter against Cal, but I believe he is a mature player that will help the team in any way that he can. As for Daniel Lewis, I think he is being rewarded for his dedication and hard work by staying in Hawaii to practice with the team. Getting to Vegas will give his family a chance to drive or fly to Vegas to visit with him. I think it’s a reward well deserved. Just my humble opinion.

  20. Willie July 25, 2016 1:23 pm

#19 H-Man, I like your rationale for the two Warriors Rolo chose to take! IMO your JMHO is right on!

  21. WWF July 25, 2016 2:46 pm

I think if Rolo finds a way to effectively use Harris, Ewaliko, Ursua and Tom on the offense, we should have a winning season that will be fun to watch.

  22. oldtimer808 July 25, 2016 3:08 pm

I too agree with you H-Man as I had similar thoughts. Bring on the dancers at the Forbidden City…oops old memory popped up.

  23. oldtimer808 July 25, 2016 3:09 pm

I’m excited to see Ursua finally on the field.

  24. H-Man July 25, 2016 3:28 pm

OldTimer808, I went to Forbidden City only once. Tempest Storm was the featured dancer, but it was such a disappointment I never went back. The one burlesque dancer that I will never forget was Sally Rand. I must have been around 13 years old and sneaked in to watch her show at the 50th State Fair.

  25. 808warriorfan July 25, 2016 3:30 pm

#22 … “oldtimer808” … Brah you bringing back memories … “Forbidden City” … have a “friend” who “danced” there … and cannot forget Lippy Espinda’s Used Car lot next door … Shaka Brah !!!!!

LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS !!!!!

    Ikaika da best holder.

  27. Boya_jr July 25, 2016 4:06 pm

I agree about Woosley. I’m proud of his commitment to the team. We’ve been through a lot

  28. Stephen Tsai July 25, 2016 4:44 pm

I think Paul Harris, Marcus Kemp or Dejon Allen would have been good choices.
RJ Hollis would have been entertaining and informative, as well.
Woolsey is the only UH quarterback who has played in a Division I game. Whether he ends up being the starter for opening day or not, Woolsey is a good speaker and leader.
