Recruiting season re-opens today

Don’t hit the snooze button.

That alarm this morning was the start of the NCAA football evaluation period.

So, what the heck does that mean?

From now until May 31, UH coaches may observe a prospect at spring practice, chat with most people except the prospect himself, and make one call (although coaches are permitted to receive calls initiated by the prospect).

The UH coaches will hit the local recruiting trail this coming week. After that, they go off island.

If those new FBS rules are approved do they go into effect in 2017 or 2018?

    Yes; go get them Warriors!

Anyone need 50 yard line tickets at UNLV this Nov. 4, 10-20 rows behind our Warrior bench–I just put down a $2,000 deposit for 400 seats; so to reserve them, email me at: tomkitaguchi@yahoo.com

Come sit with other diehard UH fans and families of current & former players!

    Guud Evening Tsaikos…Bootiful Evening!

cappie…Wahine softball need to examine who the team is for and about. Removing “energetic” student athletes is a sure way to make sure there is no student in the stands.
Seems when people come out to support and have fun, there are some who are likely to shut them down. Happened to some boosters I understand.

We now have 4 scholarships available in BBall and the signing period started at the beginning of the week. I’m a little nervous we haven’t signed anyone yet. Gannot proved he can coach but has yet to prove he can recruit.

A few months ago when the high school football players put in their commitment to their college choice. Unfortunately not one Hawaii local kid stayed home. All signed with mainland schools. Might be the same this next recruiting year, so I am sure Coach Rolo and his staff will heavy recruit on the mainland, Samoa and Australia. Not that Rolo and his football staff have given up local recruits, but it will be, maybe, a few more years to even get one local kid to stay home.
As a loyal Warrior football fan, it’s okay with me. Since the non-local kids that have committed to the Warrior football program have shown a lot of Aloha and love for our State and are happy to be a Warrior. That’s important.

With early signing period I would assume that the power 5 schools recruits will sign quickly before the scholarships for positions run out. With this it may open up to more local players staying home, I hope. UH offers and recruits snooze they may not have any offers.
