    Go Warriors!

  3. BowToe April 10, 2017 11:58 am

Just wondering is Jaime Tago allowed to participate in these workouts?

  4. Duster April 10, 2017 12:12 pm

Great pics! I can see how getting your pic in Warrior Beat is an incentive to participate in off season conditioning – so family and friends can see how you’re doing.

  5. Matt April 10, 2017 4:04 pm

Stephen, is there any news on when Jamie Tago will re-join the team? He will be a much needed asset in the defensive rotation coming off the end.

  6. AllG April 10, 2017 4:27 pm

If they can put some muscle on Naotala he could end up being one hell of a player for us.

  7. AllG April 10, 2017 4:30 pm

Glad we finally have some depth at the DT position, especially when the new recruits arrive. Was a position we have been very thin at for years. I think you will see a lot of improvement in our run D this season.

Still looking for a few more Warrior fans to sign the petition to reinstate Live Streaming to the Mainland/International.

    https://www.change.org/p/oceanic-cable-live-stream-university-of-hawaii-football-games

We sent additional emails and text messages over the past 48 hours to politicians, business folks, and students to help with the situation. Please continue to voice your concerns.

    Great Evening All!

    Is it Saturday yet?

    Das it

  10. A-joe April 10, 2017 11:12 pm

I recall a time when I’d have to inquire daily if anyone was working out in Manoa during this time. Only a handful would be. Now, these men are looking serious. Tomorrow’s champions are built today. I love it!!

    Howzit Tsaikos!

A-joe – howzit Hawaiian! Long time no see. Going game on Saturday? Da odda guys need your encouragement.

2 things-I just want a new stadium, and willing to pay per view so I can see games on mainland-that’s it.

Do football players ever double dutch?

It wouldn’t make a bad agility test, that is, if you divorce it from the province of little girls.

At Sekiya’s, I used to play two songs on the jukebox: Styx’s “Mr Roboto” and Frankie Smith’s “Double Dutch Bus”.

Did you know Lisa Loeb once played a show at Kaimuki High School?

I wonder if she ate at Sekiya’s.

I was surprised that Matt Cooper didn’t get an invite to the Sox’s spring training as a non-roster invitee.

Nobody in the organization seems to realize that he is a major prospect.

In his first start at AA yesterday, he struck out nine batters in four innings.

Like Brendan Hornung, he has a high strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Hornung, by the way, is fifth in the nation last time I checked.

David Freitas, the Braves AAA catcher, is off to a hot start. It shouldn’t be that hard to usurp third-string journeyman catcher Anthony Recker, who is 33. They already have another old guy to backup Tyler Flowers, a certain Cal-State Fullerton alum.

Freitas’ forte must be defense. He was invited as a non-roster invitee during spring training. After a decent sample size, in which Freitas is hitting in the neighborhood of .275 or more, I think he’ll get his shot.

The Reds are being really careful with Ian Kahaloa. He is still at Billings.

What happened to the softball webcast?

  17. DaveLetterMan April 11, 2017 9:31 am

    Morning Tsaikos!
Saw this idea in the editorial section. Replace Aloha Stadium section by section. Thoughts?

  18. turfwar April 11, 2017 9:40 am

Cappie are you not following Kahaloa’s story. He’s having drug problems and is serving a long term suspension with his next suspension slated for something like a 100 days. Online video of him snorting what looks like cocaine pretty much means he will probably test positive again in the near future. Basically this season is a wash for the young man. And maybe even baseball as a career. What club is going to pay him MLB money and trust that he stays clean. http://www.staradvertiser.com/2017/04/04/sports/sports-breaking/former-campbell-pitcher-suspended-by-mlb/

  19. turfwar April 11, 2017 9:42 am

BTW I really like Ian as a player. One of the most accurate pitchers to come along in years. Was always blessed with great control.

  20. Paniolo April 11, 2017 12:07 pm

Hey Stephen Tsai – Do you have any information if Kennedy T. is returning to our Warrior Football team in 2017? I hope Rolo accept him back if KT want to return for his final year.

  21. Andrew April 11, 2017 12:46 pm

    18.

Why is it if KT wants to return? The only question is if he should be allowed to return and the answer is no. I’m all for second chances, but his second chance should be allowed at another institution.

    RE: #15
DaveLetterMan — that is a better idea than just tearing it down and needing 2-3 years to replace it.

Also someone replied to my suggestion that the parking structure should be adjacent to the rail station. He noted that that the existing stadium hole would be used as an underground parking lot. Really? This is one of those “good cost-saving ideas” that can go so terribly wrong. Underground parking will need one heckofa ventilation and air system to handle the car exhaust gases. Then you have the psychological and personal safety issues of being underground versus above ground. Is there going to be a police substation in that huge underground parking? Security costs would be really high.

  23. Maddog50 April 11, 2017 1:57 pm

I just want a new Stadium
Visitor Tax-$1 per head-10 million annually. U figure how to collect it!

    Seasonal(FB) liquor tax.

HTA help pay for marquee opponents-Hey they paid NFL 5 million for pro bowl.

For any opponents to stadium I would like to know total audience involved with this venue Stadium, PPV in homes bars restaurants etc. radio and mainland.

Just rambling thoughts from a guy who cares-GoWarriors!!!

  24. DaveLetterMan April 11, 2017 3:22 pm

SteveM, Wakai said 2-3 years is the construction time. 5 years till groundbreaking.

  25. Ipu Man April 11, 2017 4:49 pm

Cornerback Zach Wilson looks like he’s flying.
