Ex-Duck joins Warriors as GA

Ramsen Golpashin, a former Oregon football player, has joined the Warriors as a graduate assistant. He will assist offensive line coach Chris Naeole.

Golpashin was co-captain on the Oregon team that lost to Auburn in the 2011 BCA National Championship game.

Golpashin was the offensive line coach at College of the Canyons.

He also worked as a chief-of-staff intern for the Ducks, helped created a marketing strategy for WNBA player Tamika Catchings’ non-profit organization, and served as project manager for a construction company.

Morning, all. The shopping malls and libraries will be crowded with folks trying to escape the heat. Any beach workouts on the schedule for the Warriors?

  5. amela July 2, 2015 8:53 am

I wonder if UH asked him what would he do if a local recruit asked if they should stay or go to Oregon what would he say?

  6. jimmy the lock July 2, 2015 8:56 am

When the morning practices start he’ll have an easy time waking up at the quack of dawn.

Wonder if he eats quackers with his soup.

When you see him in a restaurant you can put your tab on his bill.

    Welcome Ramsen!

  7. islandman July 2, 2015 9:18 am

Does Ramsen care for ramen ?

Good story, in today’s paper, by ST on Solomon Matautia, a 2015 Campbell High graduate . He has more time now, since his hair was cut short. Used to spend 30 minutes to wash/ condition it and another 10 to brush.

  8. Old Diver July 2, 2015 9:28 am

Guess they want someone with OL experience in case things flare up again.

  9. Stephen Tsai July 2, 2015 9:35 am

The O-line is going to be the key to the offense.
    The more eyes, the better.

  10. Stephen Tsai July 2, 2015 9:35 am

There are a couple more hires coming up. But, as always, the hiring process is really slow.

  11. haka July 2, 2015 9:42 am

ST, The UH roster lists Tui Unga as a D-lineman. Has he been officially switched from TE?

  12. (Jesse)James July 2, 2015 10:04 am

Good morning Tsaikos….Welcome Mr. Golpashin….How do you pronounce that??? 🙂

Tsaikos, please also keep Koakane and his ohana in your prayers. His sister passed on today. Thanks.

  13. Stephen Tsai July 2, 2015 10:11 am

    He’s still a tight end.
On the updated list, the tight ends are Unga, Moleni, Hagger, Kauhi and Torres.

  14. Stephen Tsai July 2, 2015 10:12 am

    I think it’s Gol-passion

  15. jeezy33 July 2, 2015 10:19 am

Looks like Randall Joyner from SMU will be other Grad Assistant.

  16. jeezy33 July 2, 2015 10:20 am

Too many TEs. Not enough DL. Move one

  17. Warbow July 2, 2015 10:49 am

Hagger, Moleni, Torres and brooks can handle the TE duties. They either need to move Unga or Kauhi or both to the DL.

  18. Da Punchbowl Kid July 2, 2015 11:05 am

Love and prayers to brother Koakane.

  19. Da Punchbowl Kid July 2, 2015 11:09 am

Welcome Coach Golpashin – coach ’em up. I think he and Coach Naeole is will have a good group to work with.

  20. Da Punchbowl Kid July 2, 2015 11:14 am

Why does the blog host describe the new coach as an ex-Duck? Has he renounced his old college team membership? Is he ducking his past? Once a Duck, always a Duck, I reckon.

In any case, if Coach ever gets nostalgic, he can go watch the quarry pond and reminisce. He’ll see some web footed fans there.

  21. SteveM July 2, 2015 12:43 pm

    Good afternoon everyone!

    Welcome aboard, Ramsen Golpashin!

DPK — and in the quarry, watch out for that tree! 😯

  29. Manoa Mist July 2, 2015 4:58 pm

Okay here’s a duck joke in honor of our new coach:

Two guys are out fishing when one decides to have a smoke. He asks the other guy if he has a lighter. Guy says yes and hands the other a 10-inch long BIC lighter. Surprised, the guy asks “Where did you get this?” The other guy replies “Oh I have a personal genie.” The first man asks, “Can i make a wish? ” Sure, says the other man “Just make sure that you speak clearly cause he is a little hard at hearing.” “Ok, I will” says the other as he rubs the lamp. A genie appears and asks the man what he wants. The man says ” I want a million bucks.” The genie says OK and goes back to his bottle, and 10 seconds later a million ducks fly overhead. The guy says to the other “Your genie really sucks at hearing doesn’t he?” The other man says, “I know, do you really think I asked for a 10-inch BIC?”
