Good morning everybody. Good pics ST.

  2. Ipu Man July 22, 2015 7:29 am

    Actions speak louder than words…

  3. Ipu Man July 22, 2015 7:31 am

As for the noise in Ohio State and Wis stadiums,
just score and that will silence them.
    And wear ear plugs 🙂

  4. Stephen Tsai July 22, 2015 7:32 am

Yep, there will be new uniforms.
I saw the designs. I think UH fans will like them.

  5. Willie July 22, 2015 7:39 am

Loved that 1st pic, had a good chuckle to start the morning. Seems like there are a lot more of the Warriors having that “first off the bus” buff look.

Anyone know how the kicking game projects to be this year?

  6. 3-Prong July 22, 2015 7:51 am

Looking forward to seeing Q in action.

  7. Stephen Tsai July 22, 2015 8:21 am

Not sure how it all works out, but it’s interesting that there will be a lot of moving parts. Like the past couple years, the Warriors probably will be in three-receiver sets most of the time. There are a lot of combinations, starting with Marcus Kemp at left wideout. They can play Pedroza wide or in the slot, depending if they want to pair him with Collie, Ewaliko or Barker. They can go speed sets with Stubblefield and Ewaliko. They can go big with Kemp, Barker, Unga and Hagger.
Hey, it’s the offseason. It’s all fun now.

  8. Warbow July 22, 2015 9:00 am

ST #6…All I got from you post is that we’ll be running 3 receiver sets. So basically, same old Chow offense played up tempo. Bummers, I was hoping for a complete change with the new OC implementing more of a spread type. Oh well, Chow will live or die using his offense, glad this will be his last year.

  9. jimmy the lock July 22, 2015 9:07 am

    They wear pajamas to workouts?

No matter the receiver sets, if no can give time for the QB to deliver then poho.

Happy Hump day. Is Humpty Dumpty an egg? What do you call a camel with no humps? Humphrey.

  10. Bryson July 22, 2015 9:13 am

I’m guessing Jerrel Jackson got his release since he’s nowhere to be found in any of these pictures…

  11. Willie July 22, 2015 9:34 am

Made a post about an hour ago, said it was being reviewed.

Clean post, just said loved the first pic and it brought a chuckle to start my morning on the right foot.

Also asked how the kicking game will be this season.

Maybe this time it gets approved?

  12. Inyoface July 22, 2015 9:39 am

Will there be new pants too? This is the first time in Chows tenure I feel confident about our team!

  13. st. anthony trojan July 22, 2015 9:53 am

Pics of 2 interceptions…you remember who the QB was that threw those interceptions…

Maybe a new offensive dude up in the box…. but with same old same old chow mentality…read good..he did not give that up…

Don’t get ur hopes up…he will be around for 2016 season…don’t think he wants to go out with his record…as a loser…but things surely get much better this seson…even with that “killer” front end schedule…

  14. Da Punchbowl Kid July 22, 2015 9:57 am

More terrific pics, Stephen. The DBs look tough – lotsa physicality. Really looking forward to watch fall practice.

    GO WARRIORS!!!

  15. Stephen Tsai July 22, 2015 10:30 am

Ran into Anthony Pierce. It’s a sad deal. He has an intestinal ailment that probably will require medication the rest of his life. Good guy. At least he’ll get his degree in about a year.

  16. What??? July 22, 2015 10:49 am

Jerrell Jackson was in a pic yesterday. I guess if he’s not in a pic today, it means he’s leaving.

  17. ML Warrior July 22, 2015 10:52 am

#4. ST, When will we see the new uniforms?

  18. What??? July 22, 2015 10:53 am

Good luck to Anthony Pierce. I guess since he was stricken with this ailment, it means he was shortchanged on his playing time and wanted to leave.

  19. What??? July 22, 2015 10:55 am

Others have posted that Pierce was shortchanged on his playing time and wanted to leave. I’m just reiterating what others have posted.

  20. H-Man July 22, 2015 11:05 am

The bigger problem last season was run defense. Conversely, our rushing game was below average. So whether its a 3-wide or spread, it won’t really matter. Team needs to execute its offense, especially in establishing a rushing offense the opponent respects. I think this offensive line will get it done.

  21. Abunai July 22, 2015 11:06 am

ST? Any word on C Hayes if he’s coming or not?

  22. jimmy the lock July 22, 2015 11:16 am

H-Man, wasn’t Hawaii’s rushing defense top 5 in the MWC?

  23. Warbow July 22, 2015 11:21 am

#19…run run, incomplete pass, punt. That’s Chow 3 wide offense for you.

  24. Tempmanoa July 22, 2015 11:22 am

Looking forward to seeing practice and some games. I hope we go to more pass than run (at least a little more than 50/50) because that will use our talent at receiver and QB the best and it will open up the running game when we do go to it– get back to having 1,000 yard runner and QB and receivers. Make everyone a possible target– running backs can catch, we have a TE that can catch, and we got the slots and receivers. Spread the defense with the pass and run up the middle like some of the hot offenses today.

  25. st. anthony trojan July 22, 2015 11:42 am

    Warbow…don’t be so cynical…he he he…that is how u chase championships…
    run run, incomplete pass, punt.

  26. islandman July 22, 2015 12:14 pm

    21. jimmy—Hawaii was 7th (out of 12 teams) in conference games in Rushing Defense, 198.2 yds per game and 9th in Passing Defense, 241.8 yds per game.

Scoring Defense was 7th at 27.6 pts per game but Scoring Offense was 11th at 21.6 pts per game.

  27. Stephen Tsai July 22, 2015 12:28 pm

A lot of guys had to leave early. Trayvon Henderson, Gaetano DeMattei, Solomon Matautia and Preston Kalai also weren’t around for the group photo.

  28. Stephen Tsai July 22, 2015 12:31 pm

    Abunai:
It’s complicated now but it won’t be in a couple weeks. Not to worry.

  29. Akamai Okole July 22, 2015 12:36 pm

    Great Afternoon All!

    I like the pics!

    Also like the Clements news!

But mostly, I like that I get electricity for my fan!

  30. jimmy the lock July 22, 2015 1:18 pm

    islandman, thanks for the info.

Looks like the team needs more offensive oomph. Well that’s kinda obvious.

  31. Bryson July 22, 2015 1:47 pm

    Re:16

Yeah he was at the bar b que I mean I haven’t seen him in much of the off season workout photos that Stephen post mainly been the same players Phillips,Nelson,Mayo,Kalai etc…

  32. bowwar July 22, 2015 1:49 pm

ST: When is the new FG kicker arriving? I hope we have a solid kicking game, as I’m sure we’ll have our moments when we have to punt and get out of harms way…

  33. bowwar July 22, 2015 1:50 pm

We definitely need a couple more DLs.

  34. Abunai July 22, 2015 2:16 pm

Thanks for answering my question ST.. I hope he does come here.. He really looked good playing corner.

  35. kahuna July 22, 2015 2:44 pm

Regarding those super hero T-shirts……they are part of Under Armour product line so those shirts were probably provided by UA.

I’ve seen them at Sports Authority many times and its in the UA section so they are not “pajamas”….LOL

  36. jimmy the lock July 22, 2015 3:00 pm

One thing for sure, dad-bods and UA compression shirts don’t mix.

  37. Warbow July 22, 2015 3:40 pm

Abunai …Put it this way, if you haven’t heard anything by now, they not coming. Don’t know of any that made it in the last couple weeks before school starts.

  38. kapakahi July 22, 2015 4:50 pm

    ST,

    re: #7,

    What about Haynes?

  39. islandman July 22, 2015 5:43 pm

Clarke, Moleni and Shawley , among MW Scholar Athletes for 2014-15.

The first two players above for the third consecutive year.

  43. SteveM July 22, 2015 7:38 pm

Planning to attend a UH football road game this year? Even tentatively at this point.
Post here on the blog or email me.
The listing of Tsai-kos who want to be found, activities, and resources/logistics will be posted at:

  44. HawaiiMongoose July 22, 2015 8:08 pm

New uniforms? Does that mean we’re finally getting rid of those awful “butthorns” on the back of the uniform pants? If so that actually improves my outlook on the season considerably. I felt like the team was cursed wearing those things.
