There is a fan trying to do Periscope stream but her angle is pretty bad
Not sure what all you have to do, such as download the app and follower her but worth a shot when the match starts.

Both Kawika and Erik are in the arena. Christenson is getting married tomorrow so don’t think he’s coming.

    Nikki Hubbert

  2. Haleiwacrossfitter August 26, 2016 6:50 pm

Sorry, that was for the tv question

  3. ionw August 26, 2016 6:56 pm

with nikki injured and whatnot this will be the ultimate test of hawai’is 3 setters

  4. ionw August 26, 2016 7:08 pm

perhaps tayhiggy can use her wicked spin serve to even out the odds?

  5. Brandon August 26, 2016 7:11 pm

Come on Higgins, lead us to a win!

  6. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:18 pm

    sorry, lost the internet.
UH started Sibley, Anderson, Castillo Higgins, , Maglio, Koelsch.
Granato now in as is Greeley. Maglio playing all the way around

  7. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:22 pm

First challenge by Wisconsin. looked like ball hit tape and went out. but also might have hit Koelsch. We’ll see

  8. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:22 pm

Review gives point to Wisconsin. it’s 10=6

  9. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:23 pm

Shoji calls timeout at 11-6. that review was crucial. instead of 9-7, it was 10-6.

  10. Brandon August 26, 2016 7:25 pm

Passing is not good right now

  11. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:33 pm

Sibley with a couple of hitting errors. Shoji calls timeout at 22-14

  12. ionw August 26, 2016 7:34 pm

nothing wrong with mags serve but couldnt she spin serve it? or she saving it for her time upfront?

  13. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 7:34 pm

Mags should be hitting left instead of sibley disappointed in the passing since our best passers are out there.

  14. ionw August 26, 2016 7:35 pm

also tayler higgins needs to rip that thing.

  15. T103 August 26, 2016 7:35 pm

Yikes! Our passing is giving us very little options for offense. Wisconsin is so tall, they r touching every swing and slowing it down giving themselves a chance to put away the ball. Hope
We can clean it up and give ourselves a fighting chance.

  16. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:37 pm

    Badgers win 25-16.

  17. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:39 pm

Quite a few of the U.S. men’s Olympic team in the arena. Taylor Sander among others.

  18. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 7:39 pm

Disappointed in the play of castillo, granato and kahakai thought they would have stepped it up more.

Hope they pick it up of this could be a real quick one.
Really hope Shoji lets Mags hit left if Granato doesn’t pick it up.

  19. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:42 pm

    18. I would say give them a break. they are trying to figure things out. Guinasso is serving
why would you move Maglio to the left?

  20. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:45 pm

They are playing against a team with six returning starters. Wahine have 2 players out of position. and a freshman.

  21. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 7:45 pm

Because IMO she could put the ball down more than Granato/Sibley, Kahakai not playing like a potential team usa libero tonight :/.

  22. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:47 pm

and not getting your comment about Castillo. she is 1-0-2. 2 BA

  23. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 7:48 pm

I’d like to see what Burns can do too.

  24. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:50 pm

Shoji challenges the no touch call on Sibley.

  25. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:51 pm

Wahine win the challenge. it’s 10-6

  26. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:52 pm

    23. they’ve got enough to deal with out there without adding another freshman.

  27. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 7:54 pm

Granato hits wide. it’s 12-6 TO.

  28. Haleiwacrossfitter August 26, 2016 7:55 pm

Cindy, do you know what Eric Shoji was saying to Dave? Something about something not being right when the Wahine were challenging a call

  29. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 8:00 pm

At this point nothing to lose to see how Iosia/burns respond on the floor. mags on the left would get more attempts which is what we need.
Knew they would have trouble putting the ball away with Nikki/Kalei/Annie didn’t expect bad passing and shoddy defense though:/.

  30. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:02 pm

Another challenge on Sibley being called for a net violation. I think it was Wisconsin.
they’ve decided to replay the point. Bad call.

  31. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:04 pm

No, i don’t know what Erik said. I’m on the other side of the court

  32. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 8:04 pm

Refs are bad even with tbe challenge that was clearly a clean kill by Sibs.

  33. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:06 pm

    32. yes it was a bad call. it’s 21-13 TO UH

  34. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 8:11 pm

Wanna see Iosia at least in the third what do they have to lose?
havn’t seen the wahine lose this bad since Byu.

  35. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:11 pm

    Wisconsin up 2-0 25-16

  36. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:16 pm

Against BYU they had no excuse. think tonight they do. Besides, Wisconsin is very good.

  37. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:18 pm

Marquette upsets No. 7 USC 3-1 in the Galen Center

  38. Willie August 26, 2016 8:18 pm

#34, I agree. Shoji said the best will play, so far don’t see a lot of consistency with the setter. Maybe a change would help?

  39. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:21 pm

    Iosia is setting.

  40. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:23 pm

    and burns is in

  41. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 8:23 pm

Only 13 kills none from Granato yikes it was bad.

Granato please step it up, we know she can.

  42. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:24 pm

think you’re seeing a lot of energy

  43. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:26 pm

Sibley with the overpass. UH up 5-4. TO Wisconsin

  44. hanawahine August 26, 2016 8:27 pm

Did you all see what a difference Noreen just did?

    Then she rips it!

  45. Willie August 26, 2016 8:29 pm

Will Castillo get some looks outside?

  46. Brandon August 26, 2016 8:32 pm

Iosia is going to be Hawaiis next AA setter.

  47. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:37 pm

Wisconsin has pulled to 16-15. TO UH

  48. Brandon August 26, 2016 8:38 pm

Iosia proving she should be the starting setter. I really hope dave sees this

  49. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 8:39 pm

Man Haggerty is insane good, she passed up a deadly iosia serve like it was nothing.

i like our freshmen alot too but haggerty maybe the FOY nationally.

  50. Kazu August 26, 2016 8:40 pm

Lots of energy this 3rd set. Like Iosia and nice to see Burns get a chance.

  51. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 8:44 pm

Unfotunately Gillis is looking better than she ever did last season., she was very error prone last year.

  52. Willie August 26, 2016 8:45 pm

So far with set #3 not yet over Iosia has far outplayed Higgins. Plus her jump serve got some heat!

  53. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 8:48 pm

Without Haggerty we would have a chance. She makes wisconsin a final four team imo.

  54. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:49 pm

Sibley puts it down. UH wins 26-24.

  55. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 8:49 pm

After a rocky first couple of sets Sibs has been incredile she will be a star
    And norene is incredible too.

  56. hanawahine August 26, 2016 8:52 pm

Noreen Iosia is just what Hawai’i has always been needing – a dangerous setter!

  57. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 8:53 pm

If mckenna and emily hit better we could maybe win this?

  58. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 8:54 pm

Looks like Castillo has moved to opposite. Burns in the middle

  59. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 8:56 pm

Burns makes mistakes with her feet but her long arms help her make positive plays at the net anyway.

  60. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 9:00 pm

sorry, don’t see Haggerty as POY material.

  61. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 9:08 pm

UH up 15-13 at the TTO

  62. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 9:10 pm

    We can win this!

  63. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 9:14 pm

    UH up 19-16 TO Wisconsin

  64. z August 26, 2016 9:15 pm

    I really like our freshmen.

  65. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 9:16 pm

Wisconsin closes to 19-18. TO UH

  66. Andrew August 26, 2016 9:18 pm

If I was Wisconsin’s coach, I’d be quite concerned Hawaii has been outplaying them the past two sets considering who’s not playing for UH. Granted we have great players on the floor, but Taylor is a difference maker.

  67. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 9:21 pm

    Badgers up 22-20. TO UH

  68. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 9:22 pm

Darn cant put the ball away now, Emilh swings too safe still she needs to just terminate like williams just did.

  69. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 9:26 pm

    badgers win 25-23

  70. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 9:27 pm

Oh well Sibley inexperience showed late took some bad swings, hope to see Iosia start tomorrow.

  71. Ron August 26, 2016 9:33 pm

FIY- Dave said he was starting Higgins tomorrow.

  72. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 9:33 pm

    Ron are u joking?

  73. Ashley August 26, 2016 9:34 pm

despite the loss, we saw so many positives tonight. IMO Norene deserves the start at setter. she took full control of the 3rd and 4th and really put Hawaii in the game, and she seems far more aggressive than Tayler. Sibley didn’t do spectacular, but there was so much promise when she was able to calm all the jitters. Burns, she will definitely be a force as the season goes on. despite the loss, this team will be crazy good when Nikki and Annie return to the line up. going to tomorrow’s game, i liked what i saw honestly. to me it didn’t matter if they won or lost to Wisconsin. it’s about improving, and i think Dave and company should be happy that the team never gave up without a fight.

  74. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 9:37 pm

Start Iosia and Burns and maybe Castillo at opposite. We must go 2-1 this tourney!

  75. Ashley August 26, 2016 9:43 pm

yes also i think Casey should be moved to the outside instead. i think Natasha really showed she can hang and play just as well as anybody on the court. Also i never realized how tall she is indeed. boy, this could have been an embarrassing opener for Hawaii, but they at least fought the way i knew they would. wish it went to a 5th, but they let the 4th slip away from them. but proud of the fight, at least we show some real bright spots on the court.

  76. WaWa August 26, 2016 9:44 pm

I say if Burns develops further and we struggle to terminate, when Annie recovers, she should possibly move to the left. We need at least one terminal leftside.

  77. Ron August 26, 2016 9:49 pm

I am not joking. Robbs ask Shoji a direct question in the post-game interview and Dave said Higgins would be starting. He added that what happened in the first two games were not her fault. As I was watching the game I thought I was watching the best setter I have ever seen as a freshman. She out played Carlini IMHO.

  78. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 9:53 pm

Puzzling , kahakai and anderson were shanking alot in the first two sets but Iosia betters the ball and she just seems to know what to do and her serve is croson like.

I also liked Enma Snith i think she will overtake Anderson’s role.

  79. islandman August 26, 2016 9:58 pm

    Burns should play more.

  80. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 10:02 pm

Burns will be amazing when she figures it all out.

Are the USA guys all her for Micah’s wedding?

did anyone notice Rado Parapunov with the warrior players? I looked but could not see him:(

  81. Volleyman August 26, 2016 10:03 pm

IMO, I think Hawaii surpassed expectations, with Taylor and Mitchem out. I thought they would blown out but they fought hard and won the third set.

Now let’s beat Arizona and Kansas St!

  82. Ashley August 26, 2016 10:10 pm

correct me if I’m wrong. in sets 3 & 4, Dave had no seniors in playing right? Katiana didn’t play tonight and Tayler was in for only sets 1 & 2. if that’s the case i am impressed. he even had 3 freshmen in all at once.

  83. Kazu August 26, 2016 10:11 pm

77 You’re right Shoji did say that Higgins was starting tomorrow night. He is not going to bench her.

  84. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 10:15 pm

So Iosia wont set again until things go south i guess.

  85. Ron August 26, 2016 10:26 pm

I was naturally impressed with Iosia and Burns, but I also thought that Guinasso played really well and that Sibley has tremendous potential.

  86. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 10:28 pm

Yes, the USA guys are here for Micah’s wedding.
Shoji said Higgins didn’t play badly tonight so I would think she’ll probably start but the connection between Iosia and Sibley was better. With Burns playing, they were able to move Castillo back to her natural position so things started aligning right when Iosia was in. Hall said it would be the 1-2 combo with both setters all season.

  87. blunite August 26, 2016 10:29 pm

    Good Effort by Wahine tonight!

Iosia was fantastic and Sibley was life support for the left side. Burns had some good moments and Greeley was steady in the back row. Castillo is coming around and Maglio did her best but could use more confidence.

For this tournament: Iosia needs to play, Sibley needs to play, Castillo needs to play, Burns needs to play, and a good passer (serve receive) must be found.

  88. Warriorfan August 26, 2016 10:32 pm

Imo id start iosia and use higgins as a serving sub/play backrow for Castillo or Koelsch.

  89. R.M August 26, 2016 10:33 pm

I love the fight they showed on the 3rd and 4th almost went 5 without Nikki at Annie . and WOW!!!! Iosia is GOLD.

  90. Cindy Luis August 26, 2016 10:33 pm

    82. Hawaii has 4 seniors, 2 are out and Ponce didn’t play. So Higgins is the only senior who did.
The lineup in Set 3: Sibley, Burns, Iolsia; freshmen; Koelsch, Maglio, Anderson, Greeley, Guinasso, Kahakai juniors; Granato a sophomore.
In Set 4, same players as in Set 3 plus Castillo, a sophomore, and Smith a freshman.
Sibley was 5-0-9 in Set 3, 3-5-14 in Set 4.
