Wade, Zarkovic to start boys junior club

As mentioned earlier when speaking with Wade this week, Wade and UH assistant coach Milan Zarkovic are forming a junior volleyball club for boys.

Stephen got the final details in today’s story

The club, planning to offer teams through 18s, will be named A‘o A Koa, which roughly translates to “learn to be a Warrior.”

it’s going to help keep Milan Zarkovic in Hawaii because it will augment his salary on the UH staff.

Wade had told me that he had been receiving a number of calls from parents about starting a club. There are few options for boys on Oahu, mostly Ku’Ikahi and Ka Ulukoa, and Sivan Leoni’s Lanikai Athletic Club.

Ka Ulukoa recently lost its lease at its Auahi Street space, former site of Word of Life’s gym.

Great idea all around, hope all the UH recruits sign up for this club , get an early feeling for Milan’s coaching.

Who is this for? This means they can’t make the team as a freshmen at UH.
