Hawaii’s passing pretty poor. UCSD on a 5-0 run. it’s 7-3 TO UH

  2. 'ohanaInBellingham January 31, 2016 5:18 pm

If UH recovers and takes S1 and S2, I’d like to see Mamane come in for Kolby in S3. Not just to prepare for next year but also if Kolby is forced to sit out due to his back later this season.

  3. Jason G. January 31, 2016 5:21 pm

UH can’t seem to get any momentum after big plays.

  4. Alexander Kamm January 31, 2016 5:22 pm

    Test …

  5. Cindy Luis January 31, 2016 5:23 pm

Tritons lead 15-9 at the TTO. Teams now trading service errors > UH has closed to 17-14

  6. Cindy Luis January 31, 2016 5:24 pm

Big swing by Zarkovic out of the back row. UCSD calls timeout at 17-15.

  7. Morgan Clark January 31, 2016 5:26 pm

UCSD seems to get over confident when they score several points in a row. They get distracted and UH scores.

  8. Cindy Luis January 31, 2016 5:28 pm

Zarkovic the only one with more than 1 kill. Van Tilburg with 0

  9. Cindy Luis January 31, 2016 5:31 pm

Sorry you couldn’t see that. dig by zarkovic, dig by Franciskovic, Fey punches it over from the back row as he’s falling down. UCSD hits into the net. Ties it at 21. Zarkovic with another 3-meter attack for their first lead. 22-21. TO Tritons.

  10. Cindy Luis January 31, 2016 5:35 pm

UCSD with an ace that looked like it was going out and played by Zarkovic on a tough line, Tritons take 23-22 lead. TO UH

  11. WaWa January 31, 2016 5:36 pm

If fielding men’s volleyball in Big West means all matches will be live streamed then I’m all for it.

  19. Cindy Luis January 31, 2016 6:45 pm

    UH up 18-17. TO UCSD

  22. Cindy Luis January 31, 2016 8:17 pm

Good win for the Warriors, will help them refocus for UCLA next week.
Wade will have his wrist checked out by the doctor Monday to see if he requires surgery.

  23. kaleiguy January 31, 2016 11:25 pm

Cindy, where do you get the MPSF Men’s VB scores? I’ve checked their website and its not up to date…..

  24. 'ohanaInBellingham February 1, 2016 6:33 am

#23: When I want to know the final scores immediately after the matches played, I go to the team websites.

http://www.mpsports.org/sports/m-volley/mpsf-m-volley-body.html isn’t updated until at least the day after. As was the case earlier this season, it can be even longer.

Not a pretty game last night, but they won, and that’s all that counts.
Looking forward to the UCLA games. Traffic will be bad (a certain school’s carnival will be going on).

    From the previous blog:
Gage Worsley was at the game, but in the stands with his parents.
The new guy is Kahea Machado who became eligible on Friday and replaces Jasper Rhodes. That’s all I know, didn’t get a chance to talk to Kahea.

Not sure Joe Worsley is actually 6′, even though he claims he is. The 2″ rule is probably in effect for both him and Kolby.

  26. Volleyman February 1, 2016 10:55 am

Wait, jasper Rhodes is leaving? Why?

  27. jm2375 February 1, 2016 11:38 am

volleyman – not sure why, but Jasper wasn’t with the team this weekend.

  28. warriorfan February 1, 2016 12:25 pm

Too bad about Jasper, maybe he is just concentrating on school like Zach?

I read on volley talk that Gabe “Eli” Irizarry was also in the stands. Hope he and Gage are considering UH. Irizarry is considered a top setter in the 2017 class from Virginia but plays club in California with Gage.

  29. warriorfan February 1, 2016 12:32 pm

    25. I saw a pic of Joe though with Micah Ma’a ( they played club together) and he did seem to be about 2 or 3 inches shorter, Unless Ma’a is not really 6′ 4 as listed.

  30. jm2375 February 1, 2016 5:39 pm

warriorfan – Eli was with Gage. Chatted with them for a few minutes. Hope they both sign with UH.

  31. Cindy Luis February 1, 2016 6:32 pm

    23. as 24 said, go to the team’s websites.
will check on Jasper and other things when they return to practice Tuesday.
personally i don’t get excited about players making visits. Wade has said his biggest concern is making sure guys making visits are serious about playing for Hawaii and not just getting a free vacation.

    New thread up for Monday
