is that north carolina defeats usc as in university of south carolina? or really did sc really botched it up after the opening set? how could they allow themselves be beaten by such low volleyball fighting power? i mean really? north cackalacky? well so much for the prowess of university of southern california….

  2. wildcard December 6, 2014 4:27 pm

anyways wahine. in an hour its do or die. make vansants team going down!

  3. Cindy Luis December 6, 2014 4:43 pm

    1. USC had a very bad season, surprised they got into the tournament. were 15-15 overall before this week.
    No. 7 North Carolina 28-2

  4. warriorfan December 6, 2014 4:47 pm

Come on wahine , third times the charm, hope they end Vansant’s UW career tonight.

  5. warriorfan December 6, 2014 5:09 pm

Utah, Nebraska going 5, Anae is leading Utah and boy can she hit.

  6. wildcard December 6, 2014 5:23 pm

so cindy how about direct link to new thread wahine vs u-dub? or convert this thread into that?

  7. Cubicle1126 December 6, 2014 5:30 pm

utah’s senior setter went down with injury too … and was reinserted in the 5th set and helped spark a comeback … but neb has match pt now 14-11 …

pollmiller dump shot, and neb holds on to defeat utah.

Just checked the pac-12 live website. Oceanic is not on the list. So those of us without Oceanic digital service are going to be dependant on Cindy’ s vollsyshots blog.

  12. wildcard December 6, 2014 5:46 pm

its brutal so far. but wahine still a thorn to u-dubs side.

    lets go bows!

  13. Big Island VB fan December 6, 2014 5:53 pm

Merely listening to a match is no fun. So I tuned into the the Long Beach-UCLA match. The Bruins won first set 27-25 and now Long Beach is falling behind in the second set.

  14. Big Island VB fan December 6, 2014 6:01 pm

UCLA easily beat Long Beach in the second set. Karsta Lowe had a whopping 18 kills in just two sets! She is truly a beast to behold!

  15. Andrew December 6, 2014 6:03 pm

Too many errors. They’re tryung to avoid the block too much

  16. wildcard December 6, 2014 6:04 pm

    uw up 1-0 25-20.

keys to match use the wahine assault gun, a pac-12 type weapon (olivia magill)

    wear vansant down.

  17. wildcard December 6, 2014 6:09 pm

this probably be the killer bees (wahines) vs hornets. wahine stinging up 5-1 TO u-dub

  18. Big Island VB fan December 6, 2014 6:10 pm

Back to listening the Hawaii match during the UCLA-Long Beach intermission. Glad to hear they have a better start in the second set. I wish I could have seen Kahakai’s recent ace.

  19. Andrew December 6, 2014 6:26 pm

    Adolpho is playing well.

  20. wildcard December 6, 2014 6:31 pm

wahine did a number on u-dub! wahine wins set 2 25-19

continue to wear vansant down, make down on tired!

  21. wildcard December 6, 2014 6:32 pm

    wahine make them* (u-dub) tired!

  22. jmy December 6, 2014 6:32 pm

    Beach is done…

  23. Kazu December 6, 2014 6:33 pm

Have a good feeling about this match. Looks like the Wahine got the jitters out of the way .

  24. Big Island VB fan December 6, 2014 6:35 pm

UCLA beat Long Beach 27-25, 25-15 and 25-14. So actually Hawaii did better than Long Beach taking a set from a superior team of Washington compared to UCLA. Makes me wonder how Hawaii would have fared if the Wahine played Long Beach in the playoffs?

Karsta Lowe had 24 kills, an average of 8 kills per set tonight.

  25. Haolebob December 6, 2014 6:47 pm

UH has to attack the UW setter not Van Sant. Tire her out. Olevao has to quit trying to overpower the UW block and start tooling off to the outside of the block. Let Taylor and Greeley hit more and use Sarah in the back court to rest needed front court players. Right now UH has to play the long game as it looks like this could be a long night. ” GO BOWS ” !!!

  26. Andrew December 6, 2014 6:59 pm

I’m sorry but Shoji needs to sub out Olevao. She is too inconsistent and makes errors in the most inopportune times.

  27. hatakeman December 6, 2014 7:02 pm

Is Tayler Higgins avoiding the middle set because she’s having trouble making the set? Anyway they’re getting blown out in set 3. They have to make an adjustment or it’s Aloha.

  28. hatakeman December 6, 2014 7:04 pm

Andrew, yup, I agree. I was thinking the same thing.

  29. Andrew December 6, 2014 7:12 pm

Team looks like they have no energy

  30. Andrew December 6, 2014 7:13 pm

They had a lot more energy and intensity in set 2

  31. Andrew December 6, 2014 7:22 pm

Oh well, next year I guess. Hopefully we can be a seeded team next year so we don’t get sent to Seattle again.

  32. bleachercoach December 6, 2014 10:03 pm

    26. Correct! She needs to spend the rest of the year working on passing, passing, passing….
Then instead of just challenging the blocks by over powering them all the time, she needs to learn to hit with for a higher pepercentage….As one of the leaders next year these are areas that is very evident and needs tons of coaching on or attention addressed to solidify her more
