  24. haleiwacrossfitter March 3, 2017 9:06 pm

From previous thread to warriorfan: I doubt Hughes/Claes doesn’t win gold in Tokyo. They are that good. Kerri and April will not be our top team in 2020 and the Brazilians are getting older as well.

Glad to hear our #1 pair best the Witt sisters. Interested to see how they will do against UCLAs sisters. Last names are escaping me right now.

Finally, this men’s team this year has got the goods. BYU and UCLA on the road will tell us where we truly are. I’ll take a split from each. I want to see this team play Ohio St.

  25. Cindy Luis March 3, 2017 9:11 pm

McKellar puts down the final ball. UH wins 25-18.

  26. warriorfan March 3, 2017 9:30 pm

    24. they couldn’t even win the under 21 world championships a few years ago, lol calm down.

UH men are on a roll, love it.

  27. Cindy Luis March 3, 2017 10:07 pm

    26. as you said, a few years ago. in 2014 when they took silver in the early days of their partnership.
but who knows if they’re stay together through 2020.
as for the Warriors, I like how this team plays. very dynamic. Franciskovic is running the offense really well.
Yoder didn’t play tonight SC coach said that was a deliberate decision. Pretty much a meaningless match for them and they don’t want to risk further injury
Asked Yoder how he was feeling as he was leaving the arena. and he said, not good.

  28. warriorfan March 3, 2017 10:12 pm

What I was impressed with tonight was the play of Dalton. He’s a really good blocker, if he works on his offense, I think he will fill in nicely for Mol next season.

  29. haleiwacrossfitter March 3, 2017 10:21 pm

WF: calm is all I am. Lol. Anyway, who would you think would be the favorites for 2020? I personally think they will stay together. Hughes was the one that “stole” Claes from LBSU indoor team because of their potential.

Jennings is playing like POY candidate. I can’t think of a better setter than him right now at this moment. Tuaniga/Ma’a are good, but athletically, Jennings is the reason we are playing so well right now.

  30. haleiwacrossfitter March 3, 2017 10:24 pm

Oh, and I agree about Dalton. If his offense was as good as his blocking, it would be hard to keep him off the court. I wasn’t impressed with him at the beginning of the season and questioned how he beat out Nainoa Frank for that third spot, but I’m seeing it now.

  31. warriorfan March 3, 2017 10:32 pm

    29. I think you are overhyping them too much.
The returning gold medalists Germans will be 30 and 33, still in their prime for beach volleyball and probably the favorites.

  32. warriorfan March 3, 2017 10:33 pm

I wish there was a way for Rado and Stijn to be on the court at the same time, seriously this off season, Coach Wade Must make one of them a left side hitter, train exclusively there and pass
Stijn I think can do it, but he’s gotten too used to hitting on the right and not passing.

  33. jm2375 March 3, 2017 11:05 pm

Nice match tonight and nice crowd too.

Expect to see more of Rado, Austin & Dalton, among others, heading into the final 3rd of the season. All the remaining series are back-to-back with no off days in between. Wade is going to try to keep everyone fresh, especially in those critical road games @ BYU & UCLA. After tomorrow, they’ll get to practice every day in the SSC, since basketball is pau.

  34. warriorfan March 3, 2017 11:25 pm

The thing that was a mistake to me is not trying the Stijn on the left , rado on the right lineup again during this easy stretch of the schedule, we may need both of them against BYU/UCLA/Ohio State/Long Beach

  35. warriorfan March 3, 2017 11:28 pm

I can only imagine how good Rado would be by now if he had played more during the season, to Me it’s a waste of a year for him, He should have redshirted or he should be out there playing more.

  36. haleiwacrossfitter March 4, 2017 5:46 am

31 – their hype is earned. Germany will still be very good, too. I just know Hughes/Claes will be in the mix and they got a shot at it. I’ll retract and apologize if not. 🙂

I, too, would like to see Stijn and Rado in their at the same time. I know they got smashed at LBSU doing that, but they did have and a long stretch to fix it. I still believe Tui is a better front row than Kupono and they should switch. But, Pono is playing good right now, too. Sooo many options.

Live stream of the national team tryouts, going on now

  38. warriorfan March 4, 2017 12:13 pm

Interesting looks like Pepperdine is playing their top pair at number 3 but it Did not work against USC though.

IMO I hope Rooks gets reinstated soon, UH needs her to have a chance against USC. But if not hope she redshirts and plays next season.

  39. warriorfan March 4, 2017 12:44 pm

    37. watched a little , saw Norene, seems she is doing well, it’s soo boring though.
