Just hope UH can keep this closer than it was at the outrigger.

decent live stream and it’s free by UCI. UH needs to do the same for matches that OCsports won’t televise.

    warrior agreed!! very good image…

So I did check out the link for their school website for video streaming, not bad, but slight delay, so you hear whats happening before you see it… I had to turn the sound off, b/c that announcer guys’ voice isn’t pleasant to hear…. GO BOWS! LOL

  5. warriorfan January 28, 2015 5:25 pm

not a good first set, not sure why UH makes this Irvine team seem unstoppable, they looked pretty average against USC.

  6. Cubicle1126 January 28, 2015 5:29 pm

wow, hawaii got destroyed in set 1

  7. Cubicle1126 January 28, 2015 5:30 pm

all 3 of hawaii’s outside hitters — siki, sedore and fey — are all hitting negative right now.

  8. Cubicle1126 January 28, 2015 5:43 pm

hawaii racking up service errors this set 2. they started the set better, but they’re playing from behind again …

  9. Cubicle1126 January 28, 2015 5:46 pm

3-0 service run by averill, ties it up, 14-all in set 2 … averill had an ace in there.

    t/o uci … c’mon bows!

  10. Cubicle1126 January 28, 2015 5:57 pm

jones is in for franciskovic, but hawaii’s passing is the issue

  11. Cubicle1126 January 28, 2015 6:04 pm

uci takes set 2, 25-22 … after hawaii made one last run at them.

uci leads the match 2-0 …

will there be lineup changes for hawaii? can we see mol in place of fey? is mol’s passing that bad? he’s a beach player right, so his passing/all-around skills can’t be all that bad …

giving up 5 straight points late in a set, thats not gonna get it done. the outsides really let the team down. This is the year UH was supposed to compete with teams like Irvine. Not good.
Really the only player that showed up to play today was Taylor.

  13. Cubicle1126 January 28, 2015 6:32 pm

damn … uci sweeps, 25-21 in set 3.

uci is just able to expose hawaii’s weaknesses. 6 straight sets won by uci now against hawaii.

Why is Garrett Komo on the bench??? He needs a shot to play….

  15. Hawaii Fan January 28, 2015 6:39 pm

Libero made way too many errors… wouldnt hurt trying out others at different positions… Taylor’s a stud as usual

It was interesting to see how UCI’s players were much better strategically positioned for serve receives based on which UH server was at the line. UH, on the other hand, didn’t seem as strategically disciplined, often leaving visible gaps in their serve receive positioning.

I’m glad that Wade was flexible enough to substitute out players who were not having a good game.

I really wish that Jennings would serve his lollipops closer to the line than the net. Is there an advantage to serving lollipops just over the net? That kind of serve just begs for a quick middle kill.

I wasn’t home and didn’t know there was live streaming. Didn’t miss much. Yesterday team members claimed they were so much better than last time when they played Irvine and predicted redemption and revenge. Not so. They were even worse. Only Taylor Averill hit flawlessly and had as many aces as service errors according to the stats. They should keep their mouths shut and not predict anything. It only made them look like fools. If they can even take one set from Irvine next time, that will be an improvement.

sorry, thought the post had been updated. with the result.
    25-16, 25-22, 25-21.
Not a good showing for UH but, as mentioned earlier, it was going to be their first road match.
Not a good hitting night, especially from your go-to players such as Sedore and Zarkovic. Averill only one with any real success 6-0-10 but passing dictates the offense and hard to set the middle when the setter has little option but to go outside.
Warriors continue to get stuck in rotations and unable to sideout. Set 2 It was 20-20, then it’s 24-20.
Deep hole after doing down 0-2. Set 3 up 20-18 and couldn’t close, gave up 5 straight and suddenly their down 23-20.
    We’ll see what happens Friday.

  20. warriorfan January 29, 2015 7:10 pm

Hope they finally figure Irvine out friday.I am tired of UH losing to them. Might want to give another libero a chance, Kanatake just can’t handle Irvine’s serves.
