Detoured to Brno for a 3-1 win, have arrived in Prague

As they say, the only constant is change.

Stopped in Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic, for a lunch and a match with their A-B team. fairly young according to coach. Ages 17-20 with one 26 year old.

Took a little while for the Wahine to get their bus-legs stretched, ended up winning 22-25, 25-16, 25-11, 25-23. The last set Long, Adolpho and Huff played with Anderson at libero.

Match at the Brno sports complex, the smaller gym. The larger gym looks to seat 2500 hundred. The Czech women’s national team was practicing there.

Much like Maribor, the complex includes a hotel and dining facilities. early dinner was in the arena building, shared with the Brno team.

Wahine sang Hawaii Pono’i after dinner.

Bus ride longer than expected. Major bus accident and a lot of road work that created single lanes. You would have thought it was H-1.

Breakfast in the morning followed by tour of Prague Castle, the history of which dates back to 870. Then lunch and afternoon match against one of the Czech Federation teams.

off to write, been a very long day.

and the million dollar question for those kama’aina players especially keiki o ka ‘aina is:

do i want to leave the ‘aina and not see it for an eternity (essentially for abandon) to play pro in a different culturally rich world??

    5. more like club practices. Italy didn’t want anyone in the gym, no cameras, video, etc. didn’t want to give anything away to other Euro teams. Same with Slovenia who was to play France a few days after.
