Departure day, Aloha Invitational on TV Saturday

Seriously, 730 a.m. and still have not packed. We are out of HNL tonight to SEA, Saturday will be long travel, SEA-JFK-Milan, arriving Sunday morning.

On another note, congrats to Elizabeth Ka’aihue Stoltzman who receives her Masters in Nursing Practice from UH Saturday.

And the Aloha Invitational sand tournament from a few weeks ago will be on CBS Sports Network, 7 a.m. Saturday HST, TWC 247. not sure what channel it is on if you don’t have Oceanic.

This is the event where Hawaii was up 4-0 and then it was decided to add drama for TV and made the No. 1 pairs match worth 5 points. When The Beach won that, they ‘won’ the match 5-4, although it went down as 4-1 by the AVCA.

Not sure how much of UH’s stunned faces they’ll show because the SandBows were not told that the scoring format had been changed at the last minute. Hall knew but he didn’t share it with Tiegs-Taylor.

Congratulations to Stolzman i think she will make a very good nurse. She has the personality to go with it.

Don’t forget your passports ladies. Don’t want to get stuck over seas with out one.
Travel safe and will be looking fwd to your report.
That was a bum deal on the Aloha Invitational to change the rules at the last minuet. I think Coach Hall should have told his team what was going on.

    congrats to liz ka’aihue.

dont pack passports in checked luggage. that will really suck.

the aloha invitational ‘drama’ created by ‘see bs’ was ridiculous. yeah hall should of told tiegs and taylor at least. maybe then they would of played for keeps. hall perhaps was overconfident not knowing tiegs and taylor will be lackluster. miraculously they both, though barely, made all-american.

    2. Hall didn’t tell his No. 1 pair because he didn’t want to add pressure on them. Taylor was still rehabbing the injury. The organizers made the decision prior to the No. 1 match since Uh was already up 4-0

it wasn’t miraculous. The No. 1 teams of the schools that did not make the top four advanced to the pairs. They made the quarterfinals and, as has been the case the previous years, if you get that far, you are named an All-American.
