Side notes: Christy Johnson-Lynch, Iowa State vb coach since 17 Dec., 2004. Signed a seven year contract in 2013 keeping her as head coach through 2019. On Jan. 1, 2016, Johnson-Lynch assumed the position as President of the American Volleyball Coaches Association. She will hold the position until Jan. 1, 2018.

Iowa State exited in the second round of the 2015 NCAA tourney, in a 3-0 loss to Wisconsin. The Cyclones return almost all of their 2015 roster in 2016. In 2016, they look to improve on their 2015 season (19-11 overall, 11-5 in the Big 12 conference). In 2016 they’ll have size and experience, and should be very competitive. I look forward to seeing them in March.

Is the stats correct in listing Patrick Gasman with a kill?

Oc16 is really annoying. They should not be bidding on UH sports if they don’t plan on televising them. Barely any soccer or men’s volleyball on TV. Let Someone else do it if they don’t want to.

Also, I’m getting a little worried about 2017 recruiting. Any news besides Shaney Lipscomb? I’m not sure there are any even any diamonds in the rough anymore available.

The MVB schedule shows 11 of 14 home conference season games scheduled to be televised by OC16. I quick skimmed it so may have miscounted or misidentified some. None of the Outrigger Resorts Invitational is scheduled for TV broadcast by OC16. Not sure what the story is on the Outrigger tourney TV coverage or lack thereof, would be interesting to know. Plan to be in the SSC though to watch some of it. Likely the Men’s team will be a work in progress in its first matches. Can’t graduate a large senior class and not expect some rough outings early on the following year.

Re soccer, I don’t see a 2016 schedule posted. But won’t be surprised if not many of their matches get televised. Last season’s team was difficult to watch and took a step or two back for the program.

    3. I wish they would televise more matches too and maybe get rid of unnecessary pre and post game shows, interviews with players are nice but if they wanna save money do away with that instead of televising less matches IMO. The thing that is more annoying is that their sister station OC16 shows high school OIA matches at the same time and in three different channels?? Why can’t they do that with UH sports??? UH sports is more entertaining than OIA sports..

Will Larry Tuileta be eligible to play for the mens volleyball team this season?? If he is able to play that might mean someone like Brett Rosenmeir will get to redshirt which would benefit him more in the long run,

My mother called up Oceanic today and according to the guy she talked the volleyball matches are on their schedule.
So now I’m confused. Are they or aren’t they going to broadcast the matches?

Yeah, hawaii is going to be loaded with OHs next year.

Tui got a release from USC but does the MPSF require a transfer to sit out a year if transferring within the conference?

  8. warriorfan January 5, 2016 8:04 pm

Don’t think the MPSF has that rule, cause I remember previous players transferring within the MPSF, like former Warrior JJ Mosolf who transferred to Pepperdine and played that next season.

1.) Makes sense now why they’re on the Spring Schedule as the main match! At first, I thought that was a bit random to have Iowa St. come to Hawaii. I mean, do when was the last they played each other?

  10. islandman January 6, 2016 7:46 am

Edwin Moses’ son Julian plays for Lewis which will be playing in the Outrigger tournament, per Charlie on Curran Show. 6-4 OH, red shirt freshman hit .471 with 6 block assists in 3-1 win over UCSB on Jan. 2 .

Word going around that New Mexico St. is coming for one of the pre-season tournaments. If so, I can’t stand their two-faced head coach. Always puts down UH in the coaches poll.

  12. warriorfan January 6, 2016 4:52 pm

I don’t like Jordan either, but better them than Idaho or San Diego State again, at least New Mexico State should have a decent rpi.

  13. hollycow January 6, 2016 5:45 pm

    12. Hope that ends with Shoji retiring after 2016/17.

  14. Cindy Luis January 7, 2016 10:34 am

    13. You don’t know that Shoji is retiring after either year. so what if the new coach scheduled NMSU down the road.
