Gameday: at Cal Poly

Hawaii saw a four-game winning streak in its series against UC Santa Barbara snapped in painful fashion on Thursday. What happens today to UH’s four-game streak vs. Cal Poly today at Mott Athletics Center?

UH (12-13, 6-6 BWC) can position itself to make a run back at the top three or four in the conference if it can rebound from one of its worst losses of the season.

The 5 p.m. (HST) contest is on BigWest.TV for the second time this week.

The turnover battle looms large again. UH surprised Cal Poly by going minus-six on turnovers on the Mustangs in a nine-point win in Honolulu 10 days ago.

Something to watch will be the activity of Jack Purchase, whom Eran Ganot said was under the weather and was limited to 14 minutes in the 56-54 loss at UC Santa Barbara.

When UH struggles, it tends to get overly reliant on 3-pointers. That was the case at UCSB; we’ll see how they perform in that respect today. The ‘Bows dominated the points in the paint battle 46-10 in Honolulu.

The Mustangs, who’s favored plenty of smallball of late, are favored by 3.5 points.
