The University of Hawaii released the fall roster for the Rainbow Warriors baseball team today with a couple of surprises.

Three-year catcher Trevor Podratz will not return for his senior year. Podratz, who hit .241 with 20 doubles, six homers and 63 RBIs, had started 118 games at catcher and designated hitter for the ‘Bows.

Despite the loss, UH has depth at the position. Redshirt freshman Chayce Ka’aua is expected to be eligible this year after sitting out the 2014 season due to an academic issue. Returnees Steven Pollakov and Alan Baldwin have experience to go along with two 6-foot-3 incoming freshmen in Alex Jondal from Ferris High in Spokane, Wash., and David Noworyta from Holy Cross High in New Jersey. Noworyta was selected in the 37th round of June’s MLB draft by the Kansas City Royals but did not sign.

Also listed on the roster is former Mid-Pacific standout Ivan Dilda, who spent the last two seasons at Pepperdine. Dilda, a left-hander, pitched in 23 games with the Waves, including 16 as a sophomore. He allowed eight hits in 14 innings with nine strikeouts and did not allow an earned run.

UH currently lists 20 newcomers total on the roster which is linked below.

Correct me if I’m wrong – Devan Stubblefield was a probability until his ACL injury at Fall Camp last month.

Ivan also pitched in the Supper Regionals.

I still have the picture on my pc of the graduation ceremony 2014 at Les Murakami Stadium. We saw him 3 years in a row and parking was very easy 3 years in a row, if we got there early. Ha! Ha! Ha!
