Warriors on the recruiting trail

Deep in the heart of Texas, UH coach Nick Rolovich is looking to fill some of the remaining spots of the 2019 recruiting class.
There are about four assistant coaches working the islands, with the rest on the mainland. Defensive coordinator Corey Batoon has shuttled between California and Arizona.
Coaches will be back in town this this Friday for the second weekend ahead of the Feb. 6 signing period.

All gotta be 6’2″ plus with 4.4 to 4.6 speed. Maybe an assistant OC as well. Why Not !!

I think they’re seeking a DL and some help in the secondary.
They started working out in the morning. But I’m old and couldn’t get up that early. I’ll probably give it a shot on Friday.

A DL the size of Doug Sims would be nice, hopefully still got some gems left.
Lots of depth and bodies at DT/DL for next season. On paper looks pretty solid, on film the depth was questionable. Being the first year in Batoon’s system might be the reason why there was some inconsistency. But the first half of the Louisiana Tech game was the scheme in ideal operation (as far as DL play) and I fully expect to see that kind of efficiency next season. That game turned on misplays (primarily by D-line) made on a key 3rd and long with La Tech trapped inside their own 10. Was inconsistent like that all season. Lots of misplayed opportunities when the scheme put them in good spots. With offseason work (weight room and hand grab, and footwork) the D-Line can be the dominant unit of this defense. Maybe dominant “period”. Stop the run so can unleash Padello. Its possible. I seen it in the Hawaii Bowl. Can do.
I thought La Tech exposed our O-line, more so than the D-line. My opinion, Warriors need improved OT play. Maybe after a season under their belt, plus off-season training, Joey Nuuanu-Kuhiiki and Ilm Manning will show big improvement.
