Lol. I often have thought that Nebraska was one to simply take what they could get, as it pertains to Beach VB and the collegiate Spring Break–its intensive training, in expanded form, for slogging through the Sand. UCLA USC Florida State Pepperdine (w the WCC) as a reminder are tops. yet NU does get the hard court recruits!
I don’t anymore believe that the Cornhuskers are as non calculating.
Lol. Hawaiians from ancient times are known to be overly accommodating.
Something must have happened w Jones (UW All-American).
Good for UH.

BYU is a “de facto” major program playing in a mid-major conference.
But the WCC is the WCC, so I guess I’ll be rooting for the Cougars.
By default, they’re the underdog.
2. No new players have been added to Cal Poly’s roster so she is still there
Cindy, any word from Hanna Hellvig?
Also, saw a picture of Nikki Taylor and Mita Uiato playing Professional VB for Finland. They both look happy and well!
3 of 4 Final Four have direct UH/Hawaii connections.
BYU w/DS Kiani (Tuileta) Moea’i (Punahou, 2015), Illinois w/Assistant Coach Alfred Reft (UH, ’04-’06), and Nebraska w/Assistant Coach Jaylen Reyes (Kamehameha, 2010).
Kiani (Tuileta) Moea’i will see time as a serving specialist for BYU. IIRC, she comes in to serve for Heather Gneiting.
Alfred Reft has a case for taking AVCA Assistant Coach of the Year award. Less heralded than the COY award, but his impact on the Fighting Illini’s passing & defense is exampled by their team’s improvement in the ball-handling department. Also, Quade’s evolution into a solid 6-ro outside hitter. She was definitely not that the previous year when they beat us in the NCAA tournament. B1G coaches have noticed the difference in the Fighting Illini’s ball control since his arrival.
Jaylen Reyes. How can Hawaii fans not root for this guy (I want to say kid’s) success? Many of us saw his father as an assistant to our men’s program back when they were at rock star status. Jaylen has made a name for himself as a player and assistant coach at BYU. His success and tireless work effort has earned him one of the most coveted assistant positions in women’s college volleyball at Nebraska.
Oh, yeah…and Joby (Roosevelt/UH). Great guy.
