Warriors add speedy receiver
James Green III, a speedy receiver from Cathedral City High in California, told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser he will play for the Warriors this season.
Green said he is set to report for the July 26 opening of training camp.
Green was initially committed to Montana Tech but instead decided to join UH.
He can run 100 meters in a laser-timed 10.75 seconds.

Foist?
DPK, how big is your tree at the practice fields? Maybe that will get you going. 😉
All these players coming outta of the woodworks to join da program… Excited or worried, love all the competition this will bring to our team but why are these guys so late in the game joining a program? Gotta love them though because they all WANT TO BE HEA!!!
Doze oddah guys dat left, who dem?!? Go RAINBOW WARRIORS!!!
39 days to kickoff…..
thoid or 4th ?
Build it and they will come!
Be all the Warrior you can be!
Welcome Kimo!
That would be Mr. Warrior Green…
The losses of certain players not only for depth but competition make this necessary. I can only hope and do believe many options have been explored. Some of these additions will have an impact due to the evaluation process applied. That being said this is going to be at least offensively a challenge of challenges at least for OL and receivers-to echo a line in an old movie “who are those guys?” GoWartiors!!!$
Getting some roadrunners
According to his video, he had prolific senior year: 71 catches, 1,069 yards and 10 TDs. Nice late pickup.
how tall is he?
When you get recruits late in the process they are in basically 3 catgories:
1) maybe you can get a diamond in the rough – a player, as great find.
2) a reach, not heavily recruited, lacking size or/or some athletic ability.
3) late qualifier – can be a good player or maybe not that good.
Rolo looking to find the right QB who can lead the team to consistently win games. Haven’t had the pied piper since Brennan. If McKenzie Milton had stayed with Hawaii we probably have the answer to that question since 2 years ago. But, he didn’t and so the quest continues. I don’t expect much from the team this year so I want to be surprised. We’ll see and I’ll watch on TV only.

5-11, and he also was 1st Team All-Desert Valley League at CB. 2nd Team WR.
Speed. The receivers last year were mostly possession guys that struggled either to get open or to secure the catch. Let’s see what speed can open up. We just need to pass protect. Optimism. Feels weird.
Meh, me, I will still buy my season tickets and PPV even if we go 0-12. Ha! I already did that! I love football. I love UH. I love the Warriors. I love the Wahine. I just plain and simply will not be denied!
With all this speed, looks like the Warriors gonna be running in high gear! Nice!
Mr. sabio – My relationship with that tree was and is still strictly plant-tonic. I’m there for the shade and nothing more. So sad that some journalists, *coughtsaicough* will say anything to sell papers!
GO WARRIORS!!!
Speeding through the bot-block!
You and me, haka, you and me!
With you bruddah DPK…with you!
Green kind of reminds me of Royce Pollard. Not in complete control of his arms and legs but makes plays. Johnson reminds me of Ian Sample. Fast and small but not to shifty. Both fast. Good.
I thought QB Tanner Darling had signed with New Mexico? Anyone have more info on this story?
I like the fact the UH has now established a distinct and unique style of both offense and defense that seems to be attractive to potential recruits. Now we need to be attractive to all football fans, state/nation wide, young and old with this new (hopefully) entertaining philosophy. All part of the process. The beginning. On the right track now. Nice.
NAIA?
MauiBoyAlaska
No. He did not sign with New Mexico. He’s coming to UH.
9.
Bob Nash’s first season.
Category 1: Bill Amis
Category 2: Adhar Mayen
Category 3: Stephen Verwers(I think he was a Colorado State transfer)
well said ..sukkaboya…that is how you start to build an identity and a brand…..now the whole multichannel marketing package has to come together with fresh approaches and and reaching out to other factions of the university and community to make the product-entertainment worth supporting and enjoying for just a short while on Saturdays nights in the fall…..thanks again sukkaboya for your “recap statement”- it says it all.

So if BYU had a scholarship he would have went there?
How does it work when players don’t make eligibility requirements to play this season; are they still on the team? do they lose their scholarship? red shirt? I think the season will be exciting and team will be better than some may think. Thank you!
What’s more frustrating? WR’s with speed that can get open but have no hands or possession receivers who rarely get open but catch the ball when they are open?
Thanks Dave Letterman for that link on Green. Hope you’re enjoying your retirement from tv.
Great read on Green. Thank you, DaveLetterMan!
All I want-an offense that scores 5 Td per game, an attacking D that limits opponent to 3 Td per game, special teams that are a positive factor every game. Oh ya some new uniform combos and Tavai and Chung on the field next week! Not asking too much! GoWarriors!!!!!
Forgot one thing-a few top tier local prospects committing to us! GoWarriors!!!
Annie:
It depends on what type of ineligibility.
If they flunk out, they’re gone. Well, let’s put it this way, if they’re freshmen who flunk out they’re gone.
If they don’t meet the progress clock — for instance, you need a certain amount of credits corresponding to your class standing — then I think they remain in school but are ineligible to play in games.
From what I heard, fourth or fifth hand, Leeth is going to try again at a JC. Not sure what Timoteo is going to do. I think there might be a personal family issue involved in his situation. It’s too bad. I really enjoyed having those two guys around.

Thanks for your endorsement of my comment. I really feel we are in the right direction now. Coach Rolo has built a nice well rounded, like minded staff in this philosophy changing process so there is such an optimism like we never had in a while. So good. This is the blueprint for building programs in any sector of society. When all the steps in the process can be achieved (deliberate, step by step) the sky will be the limit here. I believe it’s possible. Now we got to get the millennials to believe in it. Can do.
Wow.. Karson Greeley too!!
Hard to believe these guys are wasting their opportunity to go to school for free ….
No wonder all these WRs influx …. welcome JoJo!!
Tidbit meaningless trivia, but in case you wondered who was the winning-est head football coach. I always thought June Jones was the winning-est coach. Well he is with 76 wins, but based on winning percentage, Dave Holmes (’68-’74) is the highest at 73% (46-17-1). June Jones had a 65% winning percentage (76-41). Lowest is Fred von Appen at 14% (5-31).
Cornelius named “our guy” at QB for Oklahoma St. as of Tuesday Big 12 Media Day (Ferd’s column). Not Dru Brown.
34. What’s the story on Karson ?
34. Oh, i just read about him now.
Is new 5-10 WR Joseph Ward from Tyler Junior College or Trinity ?
It is too bad….hopefully they’ll land where they’re meant to be. Is Karson no longer on the team too? Excited for the season to begin and get to know the players thru your column! Mahalo nuis!
Karson was a walk on. His sister graduated and his brother retired so for him, there could be better opportunities elsewhere. It very expensive for him to walk on and then battle all these talented WRs when you are moving from QB.
Karson originally was supposed to transition to TE. But now that TE will be eliminated, he will be in a very very tough situation to even sniff the field.
Some must confusing Karson with Kade. Kade was on scholie. Karson walked on. Don’t know what Kade will do now that he cannot play football but Karson deciding to bail(if true) should not be a shock.
Kahuna
Tyler. Did I write Trinity? Darn.
