Two recruits report to Warriors

Remember that fourth-grade debate: What comes first — Christmas or New Year’s Day?

Which brings us to UH’s Summer Session I. Is that the end of the 2017-18 academic year or the beginning of the 2018-19 school year?

But I digress.

Two members of the 2018 recruiting class — wideout Nick Mardner and offensive lineman Kohl Levao — are enrolled in Summer Session I, which began on Monday. The majority of the remaining recruits will arrive ahead of the starts of the bridge program (June 25) and Summer Session II (July 2).

Mardner is a 6-5, 190-pound wideout from Clarkson Secondary School in Ontario. Levao, who is 6-5 and 320, is a graduate of City College of San Francisco.

The Warriors grow. How many more newbys are expected before camp opens, Stephen?

    Tres!

According to the UH catalogs, the 2018 summer sessions are part of the 2017-18 Academic year.

Taking second-year Japanese during Summer Session at UH after taking first-year Japanese at LCC five semesters earlier as the deciding factor for spring graduation was a really stupid idea. I remember being so stressed out, I was studying kanji at Hosoi after my grandmother’s funeral. It wasn’t a good optic but I was desperate. I remember thinking, I should have taken first-year Japanese during the summer, and second-year Japanese during the fall and spring semesters, and put off graduation another semester, or maybe start all over again with a new language like Spanish, or German, which I had taken during high school.

I feel bad for Dylan Thomas because he has the stats to make an All-American team.

    His team didn’t win enough.

I think he is going in the first five rounds.

I also feel bad for South Korea.

My endgame scenario is back in play.

Players can participate in unsupervised workouts.
But their scholarships kick in when they start summer school. The bridge program starts June 25.
