Sho Time
Sure, Shohei Ohtani is evoking images of days of yore as a pitcher/designated hitter for the Angels.
But the baseball ‘Bows are evoking memories of Billy Blanchette with two two-way players. Logan Pouelsen has pitched and been used as a DH this season. For today’s game, he is playing first base.
And last night, Jeremy Yelland was used as a pinch hitter. He drew a walk. Yelland, a promising pitcher, also is a capable position player.
Word also is that first baseman Alex Baeza is an accomplished pitcher, too.

GO WARRIORS !!!
C’mon, DeMiero!!!
Just get Hawaii to the seventh.
You can do it, man.
You did it last year.
Or the sixth.
Cade Smith can go three innings.
Then you bring in “Money” to close things out.
Yamazaki always hits it to the right side.
Productive out.
Moved Tyler Murray to third.
I’m not at the game.
Jonathan Weeks delivers again.
I didn’t attend yesterday’s doubleheader either.
If this margin holds, you save Cade Smith to pitch at UC-Bakersfield, right?
If things get hairy, then you burn your midweek starter, and give Hagel-Pitt a shot on Wednesday.
Do you insert Dylan Thomas in a non-save situation?
This is a rhetorical question.
I think Coach Trapasso should.
I predict if Yamazaki doesn’t draw a walk or get a base hit, he will hit it to the right side of the infield and advance the runners to second and third.
Wow.
Did they just pitch around Johnny Weeks?
Make it more exciting for Dylan.
Fantastic.
Now you have Cade Smith available to start against future Big West opponent Cal-State Bakersfield.
Pacific didn’t peak DiMiero’s interest.
Give him the most important game of the season.
Cappie will be doing his Happy Dance all night
Cappie, if Cade Smith starts on Wednesday, pull him after 3 so he can pitch on Saturday or Sunday and use the “bomb squad” for the rest of Bakersfield.
burro sabio, I just realized that the Wednesday game is totally meaningless.
It’s first place or bust.
Don’t pitch anybody of consequence against Bakersfield.
Start Brody Hagel-Pitt.
Matt Richardson is the first pitcher out of the pen.
Matt Estes, Scott Belina, and if Hawaii is in a situation where they find themselves ahead in the late innings, give the ball to Kash Koltermann to close.
No way is Coach Trapasso is going to use Dylan Thomas.
Slumping Jeremy Yelland and Logan Pouelsen, I think, are still part of the pitching staff’s first-tier.
Great Morning All!
…meanwhile, back at football.
🙄
haha…
How are our Running Backs and Dine shaping up?
Who will be doing Kickoff returns?
Is Morrison still working with the QBs, before heading back to Canada?
Football fans be hungry 🙂
Watched my first football practice on Saturday. Rained a lot, but fun watching. My impression is the team is a ways from where they need to be, but hey, it’s spring ball. Noticed that #57 JR Hensley and #65 Tui Eli of the O-line were absent, and #91 Samuela Akoteu on the D-line also not at practice. #62 Doug Russell fills in real nice at NT. #71 Stephen Bernal-Wendt was the back-up center. #68 Ra Elkington was the starting left guard in place of JR. #18 Jeremy Moussa has a nice throwing arm. As ST reported previously, the QBs are close at this point, but Cole takes the reps with the 1s.
H-Man about time you went to practice and gave us a report. Nah, j/k! You always have good info in your reports, thanks.
