Unga?
That’s what it says, brother. Good luck to these Warriors trying to get to the next level.
Second?
Good luck Warriors…see you at the next level!
Is Kennedy not invited to participate? I know he made a mistake but seems like he’s paying an incredibly harsh price… just saying…
#4 – that’s assuming he wasn’t invited. He could have also transferred to another school *last year* and gone that route, but didn’t, so that’s on him. He would have surely dominated at the FCS level and gotten attention from the scouts.
Stop talking about Kennedy already. He didn’t make an attempt to go anywhere else, everything that happened to KENNEDY is on KENNEDY. He’s gone, focus on the players we have, and stop living in the past.
So I guess Unga is not applying for a medical hardship.
Just guessing, but little opportunity for a TE in the RnS.
Regarding Kennedy, it was noted that he had an opportunity to return to the Warriors. However, he did not meet the conditions for consideration for a second chance. Was what I read on this correct? If it was, why would an NFL team take a chance? Lends to character and as things have played out in the NFL; character a lot of times trumps talent.
Unga was effective in the red zone. Agree with #5, KT should have gone elsewhere and rebuild his character. Potentially talented of course, but most NFL teams are on it when a player may have character issues
Unga could still return to UH if he is wanted and he wants to, i think.
Sheesh, nuff about Kennedy already! That ship has sailed along time ago….smh
Some trivial info.
Jarius Lyles, the kid that busted up Virginia last night, his dad (Lester) was in the same 1985 New York Jets draft as Rich Miano. He was also a Defensive back. He went to Virginia. Weird.
When you look at Unga’s dimensions, he seems a little slight. Like he’s got an in between type of body. A season in with an opportunity to play slot might have helped him. He is physical, but not as sound a blocker as an NFL TE. He could be good on special teams but I wish he would (if still possible) stay. I think he would have been a difficult match up to prepare for. Plus he would get block more safeties instead of DT’s. I hope he can still reconsider.
#11…..I understand the sentiment and the need to let the KT drama go. I agree. But it is tragic in football, or anywhere in life, when such talent is not developed and goes potentially wasted. Yes we should move on but it was a sad and disappointing saga nonetheless. One wants our local star athletes to stay home, play for the Warriors, develop the capacity to play at the next level, and create a road map to inspire others. Not much inspiration in this situation.
I think KT wants to move beyond football and pursue other interests. He had his chance to come back and didn’t fulfill the requirements. He could have transferred but chose not to. He must be happy in a non-football career. Best of luck to him.
#14 – Bill Cosby, OJ Simpson, and Harvey Weinstein were incredible talents in their time. The inspiration in this situation is, stay out of trouble.
#16 dilly dilly
Maybe KT can tryout for the XFL
For those of you who have played the game, football can be like a really pretty girl. You think about it all the time, sometimes obsessing, doing whatever you can to be with her….but not doubt, she is demanding and prickly. Once she is gone, you realize you have so much freedom that you once didn’t have, that doesnt mean you don’t think about her all the time, but that freedom of all that responsibility can also be liberating and refreshing .
Now, imagine what that feels like at the highest level……it demands a lot, all of the time. All the guys I played with, miss the game, shoots, my wife still says I have dreams at least once a month of playing football and calling out signals, but once you leave the game a bit, there is a new freedom most of us who played the game our entire life, that can release new enegies and interests …
Coach Trapasso put Kash Koltermann in a high-pressure situation and he held the 6-5 lead for the ‘Bows.
Scoreless fifth.
I was wondering, “Really? Koltermann? One appearance, previously. Now?”
The BaseBows potentially have another pitcher they can depend on.
Good players make the manager look smart.
I hope Collegiate Baseball doesn’t sneak Hawaii into their poll. It puts a big target on them when Seton Hall comes to town.
Ewaliko as a free agent. Wow. He is 5-11 to 6-0 ft. Watching. Where to?
More trivial info
In the only other 1 vs. 16 upset ever, there was a connection to Hawaii. It happened at the 1998 Women’s NCAA tournament. In the West Region, #1 seed Stanford was host to the #16 seed Harvard. Bracketed with them was the #8 seed (24-3) Hawaii against the (18-10) #9 seed Arkansas. Harvard pulled off the upset 71-67. The Wahine unfortunately lost their matchup 76-70. Arkansas would win the second round match 82-64. They ended up winning the West Region getting to the Final Four. Could have been Hawaii. Good old days
22.
Harvard had a transcendent player in Feaster.
I can’t remember how many players down Stanford was.
I think it was more than one.
Just look at that score against Arkansas.
Vince Goo was AMAZING!!!
Ulu-Perry, Kade G. are medical retirements and Lewis received a scholarship release in January, per spring ball article today.
Is scholarship release like getting a pink-slip?
Scholarship release usually means the player asked. Scholarship not renewed is the pink slip. So did he ask for the release before or after he told ST he was not leaving.
Scholarship release could be when the player requests to transfer out or sometimes when a player is not wanted anymore (pink slip), just guessing.
