UH recruit is POY
Saint Louis quarterback Chevan Cordeiro is the Star-Advertiser’s Offensive Player of the Year.
Our peeps at Hawaii Prep World did a good job vetting, compiling, and selecting this year’s All-State teams.
Here’s the link: All-State teams
Cordeiro is expected to sign with the Warriors on Wednesday.

First?
Congrats to UH coaching staff for securing a commit from Chevan; for offering him when he was riding the bench when Tua was the starter. Good insight. And thanks to Chevan for committing to be a Warrior. Looking forward to future Warrior games with the St Louis commits to Hawaii.
My first post in many years, dating back to the boycott of Norm Chow. It’s a lot of work for a program to get back on track.
islandman- Is your mind blown? I had to confirm with ESPN.com to confirm what I saw on the Hawaii Athletics website.
Who needs Megan Huff, right?
This team just beat a Power 5 team on the road.
I am pretty sure Laura Beeman is the first Hawaii coach to accomplish this.
Vince Goo’s best road win was over Montana on the Grizzlies home court in the NCAAs.
Unbelievable!!!
Congrats to Chevan and the others .
Cappie- Coach Laura thought they could win this one because Arizona is a bit down this season , so far. But UH was down
by 10 pts with six minutes to
play and made the key plays after that. 58 % for 3 FG’s.
Seldom used J Alexander had 3 pts in 4 minutes in the 4th quarter.
Tia had 14 pts for the game.
Now that Warrior Head Coach Nick Rolovich has secured the comittment of the top quarterback in Hawaii 2017, all Hawaii warrior fans hopefull will utilized Chevan talented skill – RUN AND SHOOT. A once Run and Shoot former Warrior quarterback starter under June Jones, will switch his current playbook to RUN AND SHOOT playbook. Heck, a couple of his coaches played for June Jones RUN AND SHOOT.
#4 cappie the dog I am not sure if you are being sarcastic or not but Vince Goo had many road wins against “Power 5” conference teams including wins over Pac-10 teams and not Pac-10 teams that are at the bottom of the PAC like Arizona is (Arizona is dead last in the Pac-12!)…..
I just hope when Chevan Cordeiro gets to UH he is given a legitimate chance to show what he can do. St Louis runs a pass happy offense. Let’s see if he can do the same at UH. It would be a shame if he is passed up year after year at QB. Maybe he has the “it” factor you cannot see unless put to the test in live games. Some players play better in practice and some play their best during game time.
Yep you want the local kids to come and be Warriors. Gotta showcase their talents and not ride them on the bench. Congratulations and Good luck to all Warrior commits! Hopefully we’ll get some more good ones this week.
Goo’s teams had one win vs Pac 12,, 91-59 at Oregon St. on Dec 20, 1989. Prior to today’s win at Arizona. 28 yrs since, Wahine were 1-22 vs Pac 12 teams , until today ( per B McInnis).
Wahine were down 12 pts with 6:35 left to play in today’s game.
7.
On the road.
I have the utmost reverence for the women’s basketball program.
I remember when Tanya Brunton asked Coach Goo, “Why doesn’t anybody like us.”
I am not a troll.
7.
Also, I think the last place Pac-12 team should be able to beat a low mid-major at home.
Chelsea Wagner derailed Vince Goo’s program when she transferred to Oregon after her freshman season.
4th string quarterback. Why not start training in the spring January 2018? Alabama does it that way. St. Louis high school.
Goo was in the WAC. BJ Itoman became a pilot. Not sure where though. She was 5-6. +3 & 1/2. So good height for pilots.
Who was the most popular local then? She was 5-11. A lot. Cannot name all of them. WAC title several times. Not sure. Look it up. Vince Goo was 5-10.
Ah Mow-Santos is 5-10. That girl #22 F was 6-0. Punahou high school. 2007. Chinese hapa.
12. Seven Pac-12 teams made the women’s NCAA basketball tourney in 2017. One from the Big West.
Pac-12 is ranked the No. 4 conference in Div I and Big West No. 23.

2 coaches resign .
Defensive coordinator Legi Suiaunoa
and receivers coach Kefense Hynson
are poised to leave the University of Hawaii football program and join the Oregon State staff

ST’s column.
That’s four coaches that need to be hired.
get Greg McMackin out of retirement.
at age 73 ? I think he can still coach / mentor.
His 2 tormentors are gone.
Donovan – fired.
MRC Greenwood “retired”.
I hope that his bitterness has been tempered.
Gotta believe that OSU triggered this announcement at this time-maybe not. I think there is more than enough talent to fill the void, but challenge is getting those 3 replacements and the additional while recruiting. Sitting here just seething at the pay scale for these coaches.
Let’s be serious Mack will never be back in Manoa.
Think about it.
I wish people would get over the coaches of the past. When JJ left there was no fresh air in the room till Coach Rolovich arrived. I am sure that people will be pleasantly surprised as he builds this roster and staff. There are enough young coaches out there at many levels that would be a plus. Coach Cavanaugh would be a pleasant surprise because he is a long way from sunset time. I would not mind a few guys like him but some of the same old names are retired and should remain so-GoWarriors!
How about luring Dom Capers back to UH? He was once an assistant under Larry Price? You never know!
