Kiko completes gritty career
Penitito “Kiko” Faalologo gave it the ol’ college try, but although his mind was willing, his body will not allow him to finish out his senior season.
Faalologo had missed the past five games because of a leg issues that will require surgery. He has been noticeably absent during UH’s final week of practice.
Faalologo, who was raised in Samoa, has come a long way since accepting a UH scholarship while on a tour in Texas. He has been used as a linebacker, running back and, eventually, a nose tackle. But the wear and tear proved to be too much.
But Faalologo has had an enjoyable college experience. He earned a degree in family resources last year, and is on track to earning a second degree. He also got married.

Had the pleasure of meeting Penitito Faalologo at the Michigan game the night before. He seemed bigger than his listed height had a big sweeping smile and a polite respectful aire about him. He fought hard and contributed despite his size and defensive assignment. I for one think he was a positive contributor and influence as a teamate. I followed his career from signing to his delayed enrollment. He was originally listed as a 6’2 recruit and battled hard to settle into a role where he could make an impact. I wish him and family the best as he pursues his lifetime career aspirations. He and the remaining Seniors now join the thousands of us as football alums, I wish him nothing but the best and hope that he and his fellow Seniors reflect back on how special it was to have been a “Warrior” and remain strong in that role forever-Good luck to you Kiko and all the other “Warriors for life!”
Even though I could care less some might think it’s noteworthy but the spread is now back down to -3. My “hope” is we pull the tarp off the offense early, move the ball aggressively and play field position football. In other words scrap the idea of going for it on 4th down unless inside the BYU 30. I coached football for several years in the strongest high school league in the Midwest at the time, even when you converted on 4th down and felt good about it more often than not it can disrupt the eventual flow of the game. Fans like it, it considered gutsy-me I’d rather pin em deep and play the odds. So here’s to a strong start effective execution in the red zone and a bunch of defensive stops! All I want for Christmas is a win! GoWarriors!!!!!

Thank you for being a Warrior and Scholar off the field. From your major, it seems you want to help people which makes you a very very speical person. Not having you on the field impacted our ability to stoop runs between the tackles. We’ll miss your strength and character. Best Wishes to you and your wife in the future!

I was at the Tennesse football game last Saturday and boy the weather was Tough.
Great game Though loved watching SEC Football in Hurricane type weather.
