Snow (flurry) day

SALT LAKE CITY — The Warriors were greeted with snow flurries at the start of this morning’s practice at East High.

And then the flurries turned into cold rain.

The Warriors splashed their way through an hour-long practice before heading back to the hotel for a shower and quick meal.

At the hotel, wideout Kalakaua Timoteo III said it was the first time he had seen a fireplace.

The Warriors then made the long drive to Logan, where they will spend the night ahead of tomorrow’s game against Utah State.

Wideout Marcus Armstrong-Brown and left guard J.R. Hensley

Punter/holder Stan Gaudion

H-back Kaiwi Chung, tight end Dayton Furuta, graduate assistant coach Marc Moody, linebacker Austin Borengasser, linebacker La‘akea Look, tight end Dakota Torres and kicker Alex Trifonovitch

    It’s from Chick-fil-A, so probably a bible.

  3. Ipu Man November 17, 2017 12:08 pm

And all the stinky wet clothes went to Hawaii already?
Or did Morimoto go to the nearest laundromat?

  4. Stephen Tsai November 17, 2017 12:10 pm

I think they’re doing the laundry at the hotel in Salt Lake City, then bringing it up to Logan. It looked like most of the equipment guys stayed back.

Invigorating cold weather? Cold rain sucks. Better for Warriors if it snows tomorrow. Hoping they win, but weather and other factors associated with traveling three time zones makes it difficult. But who knows…. Go Warriors !!!

    Great Afternoon All.

Do not miss watching football in the snow. Can’t imagine playing in it (or reporting on it) is all that much fun either.

But do miss that Chick Fil-A sauce!

    GO WARRIORS!

    Das it

MasaBoy and I were discussing the OL replacements for 2018 with the 2017 red-shirt players

our consensus opinion is UH needs a lot of help!!!

but, the RB position looks solid with Holey (sp), Hekilili (sp) and the incoming “4-star” frosh commit from California. also, still waiting for Genta to see some solid playing time as a RB.

DBs will continue to “haunt” UH unless something GREAT happens in coaching and players using the off-season” to da max!!!!!!

i believe if a true frosh or red-shirt frosh is the best, play them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! players ahead of them had their chance(s) already.

we saw a video of the “snow” falling during practice — wicked or invigorating?

I was hoping to see more Cole McDonald as the season progressed (also Cole Brownholtz) but the opposite is happening!

  9. Maddog50 November 17, 2017 1:49 pm

Let’s just turn em loose and get a W. GoWarriors!!!

  10. A-House November 17, 2017 2:03 pm

what position is Cole MacDonald moving to?

is other Cole as mobile or more mobile than MacDonald?

is incoming St Louis frosh QB causing the redeployment of personnel?

QB Greely already moved to TE position — hey, we will have 2 Greelys at TE on the field simultaneously as TEs? or, one in the “slot” position — das going to be one tall slot receiver!

anyone know if UH has ever practiced doing a “jump pass” in short yardage situation for a 1st down or TD? Tebow did it against UH for a TD at the “Swamp”.

Role needs a Stud QB in 2018 even if 1 and done. Either JC or D1 Transfer.
Tedford did that at Fresno St with a former Oregon St QB.

Dru Brown has a Red Shirt year to burn. Use 2018 to groom Dru, either of the Coles, and any of the HS who signs their LOI.

To bank 2018 on the returning QBS or True Frosh is too risky.

Milton did great as a true frosh but then of course he is under Scott Frost, the guru behind Oregon’s recent past success

Miano was on the Artie Wilson show and said the failure started a while back with too many guys calling plays (Smith, Stutz, Kafenses, Rolo)

On recruiting, I looked up Baraka Beckett’s offer list and was surprised to see that he committed to Hawaii over two Ivy League schools, Columbia and Cornell, plus Army and UC Davis. These are great academic schools, but he chose Hawaii. This means our academic program is pretty good? In any case glad this DT (6-4/275) has committed to the Warriors…… Any update on the 10 recruits that were reported in attendance for the Fresno St game?

There is history that UH does not play well at altitude and in cold weather. To overcome those odds you have to have a superior team against the opponent, which we don’t against Utah State. USU’s Kent Myers is a better QB than Dru Brown in my opinion and makes more plays. We’ll see tomorrow, but I already made my prediction early in the week. Still, I’m hoping for some miracles.

  17. H-Man November 17, 2017 4:59 pm

A-House, Rolo was not specific, but said because of his (McDonald’s) athleticism, they are considering a move in the spring. My guess, with his speed, McDonald will be looked at receiver. Isn’t McDonald the second fastest player on the team? ST?

  18. Z November 17, 2017 6:04 pm

    Go Warriors! Finish Strong!

  19. islandman November 17, 2017 6:35 pm

Good to have that speed at QB.
Bobby said Tui may possibly play; is that a long possibility ?

  20. Derek November 17, 2017 6:46 pm

Some QB switch to safety because of their athletic ability and because they are smart and oftentimes are the best players on the team. I.E. Blane Gaison, Walter Briggs at UH and Nolan Cromwell at Kansas. I’m sure they are other examples.

  21. Willie November 17, 2017 8:28 pm

#20 Derek, don’t forget Raphel Cherry that did it at the next level. Did well for awhile @ DB in the NFL. He was a great dual threat college QB @ UH. Talk about off the chart athleticism!

Forecast for Logan today essentially no wind-41 degrees with the “Real Feel” at 47 degrees. Running around playing football they will be sweating. The weather is comparable to the Weather at Wyoming-should be no factor at all. So now USU needs to win to be bowl eligible and we need to win just because! GoWarriors!!!!
