Cool reception for Warriors
SALT LAKE CITY — The sky was overcast, the weather was yuck, and the wind was, well, windy.
But the Warriors had fun in a 90-minute workout that was part instructional, part get-some-fresh-air time. It was a hurry-up day for the Warriors, who arrived at the hotel at 7:30 a.m., had breakfast, slept for a few hours, and then practiced at noon.
Rain is forecast for Friday and the temperature for Saturday’s kickoff is projected to be 41 degrees.
“It’s 60 minutes,” Rolovich said of the chilly forecast. “It’s not like it’s six days in the cold. I thought our guys deal with (the weather in) Wyoming very well. I expect us to deal with it very well again.”

Godspeed Warriors
I am still here.
It’s a 2 game new season.
Regroup.
Reload.
Since we in Hawaii have been getting the Tennessee Titans rammed down our throat, I felt the need to say Marriota and friends got their ass handed to them. LONG LIVE THE RAMS!
Agree with #5 Al.
I once read a book about Joe Namath as a kid. One of his quotes was “your next game is your biggest” or something like that. He could have been repeating what Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant said to him when he was at Alabama. Anyway, to paraphrase Broadway Joe, the Warriors need to treat the Utah State game is the biggest game of the year. Then everything will fall in place.
Who?
ok. Reservations for 6 rooms. We have 75 players. 12 in one room. Sorry about the mishap.
21-17 UH wins over Utah State. Saturday, 18th.
I buy. I’ll bet. Good luck on Saturday.
41 degrees? It’s warming up. Speaking of warming up, Warrior offense needs to warm up. Outside of U Mass, Western Carolina, and San Jose St, Warrior offense has produced, in this order, 23-21-21-21-7-23-21 points. Can’t win too many games with this level of offensive output. Still waiting for offense to open up. Coaching staff?
I have been posting negative comments, which I wholeheartedfly believe its the truth about our 2017 Warrior football team. My negative comments has not been against our Warrior football players but against Head Coach Nick Rolovich and his current staff who has been out-coached practically every game this year.
But I still bleed green for 2017, whats left of it. Of course I want our Warriors to do well and beat Utah State and BYU as a motivation for the 2018 season. You know, I felt the same way when our Warriors crushed their opponent in last year’s Hawaii bowl. Because of that season ending crushing victory, football Magazine Street and Smith predicted the Warriors would finish second, below San Diego State in their MWC Division. The majority, including myself, was hoping for a very good year for Rolo and his Warriors. But it never happen.
Like many Warrior fans, after the BYU game to end the 2017 season, are hoping Coach Rolovich will make radical changes in his staff – replace the entire Offensive and Defensive coordinators and their coaches. These coaches have been a totally failure to say the least. I really believe we got the size and talent on our Warrior football roster, and they were never developed by an inexperienced head football coach and his current staff. I suggest Rolo read one of University of Hawaii great football coach of the past, Dick Tomey’s book, “The Rise of the Rainbow Warriors.”
Besides the radical changes to his entire staff, Rolo needs to throw his current playbook in the garbage can where it belong. Start bringing back some wide open football when he himself was part of it under former Warrior head football coach June Jones. Maybe he should have a long chat in person with his former Warrior head coach on how to be a Division one head football coach.
No UH women’s basketball on Hawaiian Tel, thanks to “The Cable Provider Formerly Known as Oceanic”.
Just what Laura Beeman’s program needs: Less visibility.
Meanwhile…
UH UTAH State
56 14 Akamai Okole
34 31 cappie the dog
31 28 Sangamon Keith
21 17 KOH I NOR
21 56 Derek
17 41 H-Man
14 12 Ipu Man
The other QB’s should get some playing time because the current system is not scoring enough points . This season was something like the previous coach’s years when each week we said we said we need to win 3 of the next 5 games , then 3 of the next 4 , then 3 of the next 3 but it didn’t happen.
Last season, a change at QB was made after the 4th game.
#13 = what makes you think that Rolo has not spoken with Jones, Tomey, Ault, Rush, et al? Rolo is not dumb, contrary to what many fans presume.
Sad Story about Irvin Jasper’s ‘Ohana. Hoping for the best.

Rolo is very open to new ideas and advice from other coaches he knows, contrary to his critics. Unlike Norm Chow who “knew it all” because he had two National Championships at BYU and USC. Apparently, Chow is now giving advice to Kalani Sitake.
well today I’m so weary, today I’m so blue
now they’ve missed a bowl game
what to expect after 12/31/2017?
would Rolo make staff changes before 12/20/2017 signing date?
#18, kinda hoping that Norm continues to give advice to Kalani Sitake lol.
J-Dog: Me too! 🙂
Just watched replay of USU and NM. St conclusion of that game NM had 12 total turnovers covering losses to WYO and USU. Anyway, this was and ugly game. Other than it being a road game based on what I saw spread is very generous. Just like many other game this should or could be a W. Sure hope so-GoWarriors
