UH seniors draw interest
More than a dozen NFL scouts have booked plans to watch the Warriors play in this weekend’s game against UNLV.
The top UH senior prospects, we’ve been told, are safety Trayvon Henderson, defensive end Meffy Koloamatangi, running back Diocemy Saint Juste and left tackle Dejon Allen. Allen projects as a guard or center at the next level. There also is an NFL team looking at left guard John Wa‘a.

Best of luck to Dejon, Meffy, Diocemy and Trayvon in landing on a NFL roster. But first, beat UNLV. Go Warriors !!!
Does anyone understand college football officiating well enough to explain how the SDSU offense can be penalized for an illegal block on first down, have the officials move the ball forward 5 yards, and get to replay first down. I was at the game and the play-by-play below matches what I saw on the field. At the time I figured there must have been a UH penalty that I missed, but
3rd Quarter

Weird rule, but legit. I should read more … http://www.ncaapublications.com/p-4514-2016-and-2017-ncaa-football-rules-and-interpretations-updated-version-with-changes-7-19-2017-pdf-version-only-not-in-print.aspx
DEJON “MR FALSE START OR HOLDING” ALLEN … you gotta be kidding …
LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS !!!!!
By rule, when a penalty enforcement would put the ball closer than half the distance to the goal, the ball penalty is enforced half the distance.
For a 15 yard penalty, inside either 30, you’ll go half the distance.
For a 10 yard penalty, inside either 20, you’ll go half the distance
For a 5 yard penalty, inside either 10, you’ll go half the distance.
So because the penalty was enforced from the spot of the foul and it occurred past the line of the scrimmage, after going half the distance to the goal from the spot of the foul it made it 1st and 6
if the SDSU player caused the penalty, should not the ball go backwards instead toward the goal line?
I will agree of the forward placement of the ball if a UH player caused the infraction — now, should it not be 2nd down?
also, if the penalty occurred during the run, then the ball is moved back from the LOS or point of the foul and SDSU gets another 1st down?
TV Guide display on the right column — that’s a lot of jelly!
Just touched down in LV. Looking forward to a victory on Sat. Can’t let them get ahead at all-GoWarriors!
