Cal Poly, much sharper in the second set, beat Long Beach 25-10. First set, Cal Poly was so sloppy. Seems like Cal Poly suffers slow starts.
No. 12 Oregon def. Utah, 25-16, 25-13, 16-25, 17-25, 21-19
No. 6 Washington at No. 13 UCLA.
Just got in to see the match, start of set 3. I’m glad to see no slow start tonite; I know it is UCF, but still, holding them to under 10 in each of the first two sets is an accomplishment. Maybe more people should criticize coaching attire, lol.
and Arizona at No. 2 Stanford
15. will update big west scores when they are pau
Sorry, CSUF, not UCF
Ma’afala setting, served up UH’s 16th ace. it’s 21-10

UH wins 25-16. Maglio 14-0-18
new service ace record, anyone?
i believe there was 14 aces before an error even.
but not like this wasnt supposed to be expected.
23. UH set an all-time service aces record with 17. Never happened before in a 3, 4 or 5 set match, pre-rally and rally scoring eras. Great job!
Long Beach snapped Cal Poly’s 20-set winning streak as they came on fire. Score, 25-16 in favor of Long Beach. So now they will play a fourth set.
18. Sorry I didn’t see your comment when I mentioned the score at the end of the third set.
UCD ahead of UCI 2-1, with a tough battle in the fourth set.
CSUN ahead of UCSB 2-1, with a close fourth set.
Poly leading 2-1 and 21-15 in the fourth over LBSU.
Coming into tonite’s match, Lindsey Ruddins has averaged 14.24 attacks per set. Through the middle of the fourth set tonite, she has 46. Don’t see how she is going to last the season without a lot of rest nights.
Poly beats LBSU 3-1
Irvine won the fourth set against Davis, now going to the fifth

Tonight it was Adlee van Winden outdid her younger sister in both kills and hitting percentage. Never know which sister will shine on a particular night. Plus, four hitters were in double-digit kills. Still, I expect CSUN to present a much tougher challenge tomorrow night. Seeing that CSUN defeated both Long Beach and UCSB in four sets, it’s possible CSUN could pull off an upset against Cal Poly tomorrow night. When UH finishes up with Riverside tomorrow, the match with CSUN could still go on. UH fans might be interested in watching the tail end of the Cal Poly-CSUN match as the result may determine who’s ahead so far in the Big West, UH or Cal Poly.
recapping the Big West

Season-high crowd of 598 watched Fullerton score the fewest points so far this season in a match. UH allowed the fewest points so far this season in a match.
After several attempts to view the match on espn3 and failing, I just laid back and listened to Tiff. Total happiness!! Thanks Tiff, you are the best.
# Ron why wasn’t your ESPN3 working?? I watched ESPN 3 on my Roku. Didn’t miss much. Tiff probably made it more exciting than it was. I lost interest after the second set and switched to UCLA VS Washington on P12 network.
Rabbit ears- I think that it was my brain that was not working. And yes, he made it exciting even though he had so little to work with.
Is the Riverside Match on ESPN3 also?
42. No, their next televised match in California will be on ESPNU against The Beach on Oct. 13th.
42, should be able to catch today’s match on bigwest streaming.
Looking back to yesterday, one of the good things about playing an opponent who only pushes you partly is you have time in the moment to work on things that may have been issues. I liked seeing both setters going to Maglio a lot. Wonder if we will see her play all 6 positions in a match like tonight’s?
This is the link I found; hope it works. BW site is like the pencil drawer of my desk, lots and lots of stuff.

Have put up all links for Saturday’s match on new thread.
I kept losing 1420
It will be on 1500 today. That didn’t work well last Saturday when Wahine match got moved there because of football.
Tiff can be pretty funny.
