Warriors visit injured teammate
After arriving in Denver this morning, the Warriors visited defensive lineman Kalepo Naotala at the Craig Hospital in Englewood. Naotala is being treated for a spinal injury he suffered during an accident off Waikiki on July 1. He was transferred to Craig, which specializes in neuro rehabilitation.

GOOD MORNING, HAWAII!
Best wishes Kalepo – speedy recovery!
Chicken skin moments seeing these photos. My eyes got wet. Hope all goes well on the road trip. I’m not making any predictions this week, but I do think Hawaii has a chance to do some good things and come out on top (if) you can slow down Allen’s passing. DBs need to have close coverage and not have receivers wide open like they did against Rosen. Sure tackling, men. And Good Luck handling the weather. Some of my friends are on this trip to watch the game, but I’ll just watch in the warm confines in my home on ESPN2.
Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.
Win one for Kalepo!
Kinpira!!!
If this doesn’t motivate our team, nothing will…Naotala is a Warrior and is fighting the biggest battle of his life right now. He is holding up and being a true Warrior. Time for us to the same and win this weekend. Live Aloha, Play Warriors!
while we are not privy to exact extent of Kalepo’s injury, treatment, and prognosis — I do hope he will be able to rejoin the team someday in some capacity!
if his doctors are very progressive, would they consider “stem cell” treatments?
full and speedy recovery, Kalepo!!!!!
perhaps, someday, UH coaches will be able to recruit players who are as talented at Hal Stringert and Jeris White were — local products who could flat play their position
at termite place, Jeris’ first game, he got burnt real bad by the WR for a TD — there after and for the next 3 years, very few passes were thrown his way while defending against the opponents best WR
Levi Stanley and Paul “Zumo” Lee were outstanding players on the DL — maybe Zeno Choi will be the next Zumo Lee — Zeno needs more strength training so his Jr and sr years will be great.
Very poignant moment for Kalepo and the team. It’s wonderul that they were able to be there for each other.
Let’s get this “W” !
Thank you ST for sharing a very special moment for the team and Kalepo. No doubt in my mind that someday he will again be on full scholarship as a Warrior and he will be able to finish his education. Many prayers to Kalepo and the Naotala family as they continue their journey to recovery. He was meant to be here and many look forward to his return.
By your pic, Tsai, I see that Kalepo Naotala has the hair of Sampson, the strong man in the Bible. I pray he has the
strength, too. Amen. Go Warrior and Warriors!!!!!!!!!!!
btw, did Kalepo post his prediction? 🙂
Best wishes to Kalepo for a full recovery. Go Warrior !!!
How awesome that the team was able to visit Kalepo. I’m sure the encouragement went both ways and the TEAM will be better for it.
Nice planning Coach Rolo.
Go Warriors!
I would encourage either the UH or it’s football alumni seek to assure Kalepo employment in the islands or near his family. If Rolo and the other UH coaches preach family, then they also need to remember that family will take care of its own. Much aloha and mahalos to Univerity of Colorado coaches and players who have taken time to see Kalepo.
Tears in my eyes seeing these pics as I’m sure Kalepo was as happy to see the team as they were to see him since many did not get to see him since his accident. Best wishes to he and his family as he works through this tough time but he will win the battle. Good luck to our boys in Wyoming and bring that paniolo trophy back home1 LET’S GO ‘BOWS!
I hope this visit inspires the team to do well this weekend. Sure hoped that Kalepo would be on his feet …. Special prayers to him!!!
First OT of the season….

Was this a surprise? Cause I don’t think Rolo mentioned this when he was asked about their travel plans. Unless Rolo just kept it secret from fans, but would be even cooler if it was a total surprise for Naotala too!
feels good.
Awe…hard luck. Maybe you can use your mind now. Like be an artist. Saw you on a forum. Sorry.

44-42 Hawai’i at Laramie. Win. (yes)
chicken skin story! Motivation an heart can carry the Warriors to victory Saturday night.
35-28 UH win
Mind and will to overcome the elevation. I live at 7200 feet elevation. The boys gotta hydrate and push through fatigue.
Go Bows
UH = 38
WY = 24
Do you think Ah Mow-Santos will have a winning season? Yes. But she’ll miss the NCAA regionals. This year.
Do you think Nick Rolovich will get to another bowl game? Yes. Hawai’i Bowl 2017. And umm, Kaiser High School couldn’t pick up the electric bill on the new stadium, so they canceled the games. Already forfeited 4 of the last 5 games this season. Homecoming is on Friday for them.
Do you think they need to build a newer stadium for Hawai’i? Yes. This stadium we have now is sqeeky or rusted. Who do you think will be the contractor? David Lassner was at the Western Carolina game at Aloha Stadium and on the field.
The new stadium will cost about $60 million dollars. 37,200 seats stadium. Why so much? We got the bargain deal. If it goes through, final cost may go up to $150,000 million dollars. Inflation. Higher taxes due to rail transit.
From close sources I hear that the engineers are worried that the stilts in the ground floor could go if there was a hurricane coming. Unstable rafters. Closely monitoring the structure is the word. True
After watching Allen and Coachs Bohls press conference it appears they know Little if anything of the Paniolo Trophy-Bohk sighted Ursua’s using Collies name. The local spin is Allen is going to break out and do a number on us and also intend to establish the run-if we show up and play to capability I think we control the game and win by 2 scores-GoWarriors
Children, don’t do drugs.
I’m not a robot.
Hoping for a full recovery for Kalepo.
mae mae kuso!
just popped into my head driving home from 24HR fitness
Guud Morning Tsaikos…Bootiful Day!
A-House haven’t heard that expression in ages!…LOL..guud one! My mom used it on the kids when we gave her fits…
Not sure what team will show up tomorrow but it will give better picture of the team going forward. Wat dat mean?…i dunno know….lol! dis is a sport…sometimes you can, sometimes you no can but dis time I tink we can.
IMUA WARRIORS!
disconcernning when my old memories suddenly appear and my short term ones just disappear
need to start taking that “jelly-fish” pill
old age or start of dementia?
we are fortunate that Mrs. A-House creates all our UH trip albums for us to look and recall what we saw, who we met, what we ate, etc.
soon, will start reviewing the Army album to prep for 2018 – hope we stay at the Marriott Marquis again — Amherst trip, one of our tour gathering spot was just down the street from Marriott Marquis and Juniors — brought back many happy memories!!!
Cheee….Boola was leaving San Francisco early this morning after taking care of Boola business, and lo and behold, who is sitting right next to me at SW gate??? Rolo’s dad and uncle, we spoke for over an hour, great great guys. They were obviously on their way to Wyoming, via Denver, and since I got a condo in Colorado, I offered for them to take my SUV to Wyoming, as they were going to rent a car…and darn, if i didn’t almost convince them…..I take this as a sign that we are winning this one!!!
before I forget, again, it was good to see and talk with Committed Road Warrior who drove up from Washington D.C. for the game
and at UCLA game, met Kapahulu, D1 and Mrs, Stretch, and Powder Puff at the tail gate — kept looking for Chawan, but no show.
the Rose Bowl was on my “bucket list” for a long, long time and it was disappointing – the front facade was nice, but the stadium itself was same-oh, same-oh — we lucked out and had theater seats — YES!!!
luckily, on our day off ( Friday ) — sister and husband took MasaBoay and I to Pechanga, Harrah’s,
Pala, and Valley View casinos where I dutifully collected the $1 and $5 chips — however, no luck!!!
Guud Evening Tsaikos…Bootiful Evening!
JJ, Masoli and Alex Green doing very good for Hamilton.
Expecting the Warriors to make some noise tomorrow!
IMUA WARRIORS!
