Former Saint Louis d-lineman commits to Warriors
It appears former Saint Louis School defensive lineman Tristan Nichols is heading to the Manoa campus next year.
Nichols, a sophomore at Arizona Western (junior) College, made a verbal commitment to the Warriors this week.
Tre Nichols said his son is 6 feet 5 and 255 pounds.
“He’s getting bigger and bigger every day,” Tre Nichols said.
Nichols was raised on Maui but transferred to Saint Louis in 2015, where he played as a 16-year-old senior.
“He’s a good player,” Saint Louis coach Cal Lee said. “He’s very eager to learn. He did everything you told him to do.”
Tre Nichols said his son “has been an athlete all his life.” Tristan Nichols began playing soccer at age 5. He then added basketball, baseball and football.
He is on full scholarship at Arizona Western. “He’s dedicated to education and weight lifting and getting bigger,” Tre Nichols said. “That’s his job. Dad, mom, will take care of everything else.”

I remember this kid more as a basketball player than a football player. An 18 year old sophomore that is still growing sounds like there is a ton of potential.

Recruits are committing early this year. More excitement in the air!
Rolo & staff are doing a good job of following up with the local HS prospects who didn’t qualify out of HS and ended up going the JC route.
Tristan was initially recruited by Rolo back before the Feb 2016 NLI Day. Played DE for Crusaders after playing mostly TE for Sabers.
Hopefully UH can also land former ’16 Kalani HS DE Sione Kava too.

Ground floor level of the hotel. There’s also Harvest which is a market that serves hot and cold meals as well as chips, drinks, etc. Think fast food but good!
We also have the top dining program in the nation so trust the food is amazing 🙂
There’s also a “fine dining” restaurant on campus in a historical farmhouse: The Boltwood-Stockbridge House (oldest house in Amherst) aka the University Club.
Ah recruiting. Potential, potential. Potential. Potential is like a box of chocolates. But based on the last 2 recruiting classes, it would seem to appear that Rolo and staff got some good ones. It would be about 2 more years if his 1st class comes to fruition. Chow did get some gems like Henderson, Tavai, Allen, Waa, Ursua, and Collie, and Unga, apologies to anyone I missed. What we can say for certain is that there is a lot of promise so these recruits need to develop and be developed to get better. It will be interesting to see.

Tristan Nichols is listed by both Scout and 247Sport at 6-4/295. Arizona Western’s roster has him listed at 6-4/300. So he must have lost a lot of weight recently to get to 255. I suppose he is quicker now and able to play DE. In any case, good addition to the team next year.
We’re looking for transportation from Waikiki to the Colorado State game on Sep 30. Anyone know if there’s a football express bus (Polynesian Adventure, Polynesian Hospitality, Roberts, etc.) with pickups in Waikiki?
