MJNT loses to Egypt, Granato’s CNT-Red undefeated

UH’s Brett Rosenmeier had 14 kills and 10 digs, and incoming Warrior libero Gage Worsley 16 digs in the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team loss to Egypt Thursday.in the FIVB Men’s Under-21 World Championship in Czech Republic.
UH middle Patrick Gasman and hitter Austin Matautia both played in Set 4. Gasman had 3 kills, Matautia one. Reserve setter Micah Ma’a (Punahou/UCLA) added three digs and Rosenmeier an ace for the U.S.
The Americans (1-5) begin classification play Saturday against Morocco (1-5) and conclude the competition on Sunday. The U.S. will finish between 13th and 16th place.


McKenna Granato came off the bench in Set 3 to help the U.S. Collegiate National Team-Red complete a sweep of CNT-White 25-13, 25-13,as the round-robin CNT-Minneapolis volleyball completion concluded at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Thursday.
Granato finished with two kills, a block and an ace as CNT-Red (2-0) moved into today’s championship match against the winner of Friday’s play-in match between CNT-White (1-1) and CNT-Blue (0-2). Competing for the CNT-White is libero Tita Akiu (Kamehameha/Texas Tech). No dig statistics were available.
