According to posters on Volleytalk Torrey Van Winden transfers from UCLA to Cal Poly to play with her sister. Looks like Cal Poly will be the team to beat.

I watched a little bit of the replay of US playing in France. Its super weird to hear all those players last names being called on the same side of the net when I’m so used to hearing them as opponents, but seriously awesome, Shoji, Christianson, Patch, DeFalco.

Do you think Shoji’s retirement had anything to do with Gimmillaro deciding too as well? Not saying it was a direct effect, but perhaps the thought of Dave’s retirement made him step back and evaluate his own situation more so than he would normally.

#4, both Shoji and Dunning retired at the end of the season. Two long time legends.

Not sure what impact Coach Shoji’s retirement had on Coach Giamillaro’s decision to retire, but I believe six players from his team had already decided to transfer before his announcement.

#7. Looks like it, from his Instagram post. So sad if it’s true.

    1. think Cal Poly will be the team to beat this year
    4. don’t think Shoji retiring had anything to do with BG’s decision but it did have him rethinking things. sort of reminded me about when Banachowski retired after losing a couple of key players to unexpected transfers.
    7. first I’ve heard of it. had heard it might be another player.
but will have to confirm. his instagram was a little ambiguous with the illbeback.

Sounds like Joe and Tui were just kidding around with Stijn to me lol

Who is the player that is leaving? In addition to Jack?

Maybe SVT just went home for the summer. He must miss his family.
