Congratulations Leo and Rigo!! Hopefully we’ll see a few more Warriors get a chance to showcase their talents…..GO BOWS!!!

Great new about the Warrior players. Regarding the Minnesota Golden Gopher stadium, it looks like they have 25,000 seats with “permanent chair backs” of the 50,805 basic capacity. The season ticket prices are worth noting … minimum of $310, and $630 – $1,130 for sideline chair back seats … https://www.mygophersports.com/Online/default.asp?BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::permalink=football-season-tickets&BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::context_id=

Great idea to have seats with and without backs. I say have about 20 to 25,000 seats with backs and charge more for these. This should take care of the hard core fans and those willing to shell out more for comfort. These would be the permanent seats and we could be flexible with expanding seating with the chairs with no backs. This would allow the folks who are bandwagon jumpers and those who cannot afford the “full fare” to still attend the games.

    Congrats Marcus….GO BOWS!!!

  7. Stephen Tsai April 29, 2017 3:24 pm

I think you need cup holders.

  8. ai-eee-soos April 29, 2017 3:43 pm

4th FA – Linebacker Jerrol Garcia-Williams will sign with the Denver Broncos, agent Jordan Byrd told the Star-Advertiser.

    Congrats to all !!!

Congrats to Leo, Rigo, Marcus,Makana and Jerrol on your NFL Free Agent
Contracts. Now you need to work harder than you ever have in your life to achieve you dreams. Appreciate the oppurtunity. Others are out to take your roster spot.

We will be following your efforts with prayers and best wishes.

  10. Kapahulu April 29, 2017 3:54 pm

I vote for seatbacks and cup holders

  11. Old School Dave April 29, 2017 4:11 pm

Congrats and good luck to all of the UH FAs. On a side note, the Eagles may have gotten the best bargain choosing SDSU RB Donnell Pumphrey in the 4th round.

Any City or State project gives me an upset stomach. Why did it take longer to remodel Kanewai Park (near UH) than to build a high rise adjacent to Ala Moana SC? How u figgah?

Gotta revamp UH fundraising which is in repair mode.

  12. Old School Dave April 29, 2017 4:16 pm

Cup holders – But if you drink too much, u gotta go bathroom. Gotta love the troughs at Aloha.

  13. Ipu Man April 29, 2017 4:40 pm

    Good news 🙂
Hope other UH players also get a chance.
There or in CFL or in Europe, even Japan
    🙂

  14. Ipu Man April 29, 2017 4:43 pm

I read somewhere (maybe here) that in the first
early days of football, nobody wore helmets…
but they all had cup holders.
Then later they figured to also protect their heads.

  15. kalua pig April 29, 2017 6:28 pm

    silver helmets.

  16. islandman April 29, 2017 8:08 pm

Did Gerald Ford wear a helmet ?

  17. cappie the dog April 29, 2017 8:40 pm

I am old enough to get the joke islandman. You’re referencing Chevy Chase’s impersonation of President Ford from his one season on SNL.

I am told that somebody impersonated Malia Zimmerman on a recent episode.

I am also told that a clip of Robert Kekaula was featured on “The Daily Show w/Trevor Noah”.

It can’t be as funny as Stephen Colbert calling out Ross Shimabuku on “The Colbert Report”. It was so surreal to see somebody from your old Little League baseball team being called out on national television.

  18. Inyoface April 29, 2017 9:35 pm

I don’t know why people didn’t like the white helmets. At least we won in them and kind of had a “new era” feel to them. It didn’t look horrendous either.

  19. 808WarriorFan April 29, 2017 9:53 pm

    I agree w/ #10 … “Kapahulu” … also best wishes to our 4 FA’s … haven’t heard about #5 Makani Kema-Kalewahea … super nice guy w/ a great supporting wife … one guy I hope gets a chance is Paul Harris

LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO “BOWS” …

  20. Derek April 29, 2017 11:09 pm

Is UH still contracting with Under Armour? I thought their contract expires in June, so I haven’t heard any further developments. Anybody knows?

  21. Ohana Hawaii April 30, 2017 2:30 am

Graduation you three former University of Hawaii football players!. Now! Go out there and show them 100% that what you can do! Just remember that? Guys had been drafted doesn’t mean that their made the team! They’re a lot’s of drafted players been releases by the team!. They’re is a lot’s of free agent players in the NFL.

  22. Abunai April 30, 2017 3:11 am

I hope the helmet is a matte black with one side of the helmet with the standard H logo and the other half of the helmet the Hawaiian islands with its colors.

  23. Whitey April 30, 2017 6:41 am

Congratulations to Maui High School and Waiakea High School for their championship game at the state championship. Maui NoKaOi.

  24. burro sabio April 30, 2017 7:02 am

I hope new helmets provide better protection for the players, who gives a damn what color they are.

  25. oneseason April 30, 2017 7:28 am

I am not a fan of a lot of the new uniforms that have come out of corporate college football (Oregon Ducks being about the worst), but the new Men’s Volleyball jersey, the one with the state flag, looks outstanding. The TV coverage noted that Assistant Coach Zarkovic designed it. If UH Athletics has the opportunity, I hope they ask him if he would like to help out with football uniform and helmet design concepts. I agree with #23 (burro sabio), but am guessing it will take changes to the rules to reduce impact speeds to significantly cut back on concussions.

  26. Inyoface April 30, 2017 8:23 am

#22 Matte forest green would look better

  27. al April 30, 2017 9:27 am

Inyoface…you must have a little birdie.

  28. jm2375 April 30, 2017 10:20 am

    Good morning Tsaikos!

Congrats to the Warriors who are getting the chance to play at the next level. Hope there are more in the near future.

oneseason #24. According to da odda writer, the MVB jersey was a collaboration between the coaching staff and Asics. Knowing Coach Milan, I wouldn’t doubt that he had the initial design in mind. I believe his hiring has been the best thing in Wade’s tenure.

    Tuesday can’t come soon enough!!
    GO WARRIORS!

  29. DaveLetterMan April 30, 2017 11:15 am

    Morning Tsaikos!
Matte forest green with the H logo on one side and the Hawaiian flag on the other.
