Warriors complete spring program
After 268 days, the Warriors’ 2016-17 football season has ended.
The Warriors closed their four-week, spring-workout program this morning with a grueling session in which one player displayed, um, a digestive incident. But overall it was a productive year — from training camp to the season to the bowl game to the first offseason program to spring training to the second offseason program.
The Warriors now get a break to focus on next week’s final three days of instruction and then the following week’s final exams.
After that, several mainland players indicated they will spend a couple weeks at home before returning for summer school and the next round of off-season training.

I agree the Hawaii state flag should be on the uniform somewhere. Weather it’s a decal on the back of the helmet or a patch on the jersey.

I have never been prouder about living in Hawaii since *****************, except for the District of Columbia. I resent **** ******** for saying that Hawaii **************. I would be okay with the Hawaii state flag on the uniform.
For years, my cousin and I have the same conversation as to if “Hawaii Pono’i” is a political song when juxtaposed against “The Star-Spangled Banner”. I know what my cousin is thinking: Yeah, I know you majored in English. Can you just shut the hell up sometimes.
English majors are obnoxious because we have no earning potential. Alienating people is our only cultural currency.

Katz would never encourage the deemphasization of a mid-major presence in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. Jay Bilas is such a Power Five guy. Can’t stand him.
The University of Hawaii Vollyball “awesome” designed jersey with the Hawaii State flag plastered across the front of the jersey is far ahead of the Warrior football Jersey. Coach Nick Rolovich, if he has not, put the State flag similiar to the vollyball team across their football jersey. Not a small State flag decal on the side of their helmet (that’s fine also) but a huge Hawaii State flag in front of their football jersey. I guarentee you that would smoke some fire from each of our Warrior football player in their pride for our State of Hawaii.
Whoever started the move for the Vollyball jersey, a big mahalo for what you have done. Wish those involved with the Warrior Football jersey will do the same.
New stadium bill dies. Not a surprise, to be honest. Let Rolo and his staff continue to build the program and you will see 35,000 in attendance this season or next. The question of a manini sized stadium will be moot, IMHO. Aloha Stadium is still operational for the time being, but it may be necessary for UH to reach out to one of the local corporations to build a new stadium – Hawaiian Air, Bank of Hawaii, First Hawaiian, etc.

The Minnesota Gopher Stadium had some interesting facts. It cost
$288.5 million and it required a total of 1,300,000 work hours to build the stadium.
With how things are run here, you can bet it would be at least 4 -5 times that cost when and if a new stadium is built here. Or, maybe the state can hire the same people from the city that is building the rail. They would balloon the cost to probably 10 times that amount.
I also think the state has a lot on its plate now because of the city and their mismanagement of funds with rail costing around $10 billion. How much can we tax the tourist before they say enough is enough we will just find another place to vacation? Let’s bite the hand that feed us – Hawaii biggest industry.
