First in all of your hearts? Nice schedule.

  2. Stephen Tsai March 2, 2017 10:13 am

It’s a really favorable schedule. There are byes before Wyoming and San Diego State.

  3. 99club March 2, 2017 10:15 am

Mahalo for the sked, ST. Nicely timed byes before Wyoming and SD State. Nov 4 in Vegas baby!

  4. 99club March 2, 2017 10:16 am

Arrrgh. Beat me to it, ST! 🙂

  5. ai-eee-soos March 2, 2017 10:23 am

Agree that the schedule is favorable.

    1. at UCLA, bye, at Wyoming (7,200 ft)

    2. (H) San Jose St, BYE, (H) San Diego St (at HOME 3 straight weeks !!!

Looking good for a 7+ win season.

I know they are hard to arrange home game-only games but we have too many road games. We need 7 or 8 home games for the financial benefit … that’s the purpose of the extra game allowed for UH. I’m old enough for the years of only two road games in a season … we were independent back then. Even then, we wanted the extra game each season.

  7. Derek March 2, 2017 10:47 am

Did Matlin ever said we’re only going to play 12 games. There is a good reason why the Hawaii exemption is in place. Use it, man. Let’s hope he’s trying to fill it now that the conference schedule is out.

  8. Shoichi March 2, 2017 10:55 am

2 bye weeks helps the team more in recovery than an extra game. Also don’t have to deal with 6-7 record type seasons.

Future seasons we will also be having 7-8 home games as well.

  9. Inyoface March 2, 2017 10:55 am

It’s a nice schedule after what could be the worst traveling season in football history.

  10. WarriorMojo March 2, 2017 12:03 pm

Potential cold weather games in Wyoming and Nevada are early. That Utah State game looks potentially dangerous sandwiched between two rivalry games.

  11. A-House March 2, 2017 1:08 pm

schedule looks “balanced” compared to 2016 when we went to Sydney, came home for 3 days and off to Michigan — talk about couple old farts wasted/totally tired

only one game across contiguous 48 states — can handle!!!

  12. Pete Jek March 2, 2017 1:12 pm

I’ll be the first to call it. UH is winning on Sep. 9.

  13. Andrew March 2, 2017 1:16 pm

The conference has been oddly very kind to UH the past two schedules

  14. UKU@LA March 2, 2017 1:36 pm

    MANEO !!!

Are you planning to attend a UH away game this year (even tentatively)? Please note which on the blog and email me your logistical info when it is set. If you are in a tour group, e.g. Panda, please indicate. You might be in the same tour group.

FYI, besides Panda, Non-Stop Travel has just announced two tour groups for the UMass game (3-nt Boston and 4-nt Las Vegas).

I will update the Tsai-ko Away Game planner soon.

If Matlin does add an extra game, hope
he leaves the bye before the San Diego State game.
And the newly added team is
    Notre Dame…

Bring in Michigan so we can lick them at home and see how it feels to lose by 60.

Like the schedule-cautiously optimistic for up coming season. Right now the measuring stick is SDSU in terms of our roster. If we have some players develop we can close the gap. CSU And Wyoming on the rise with FSU Nevada and SJSU in recovery rebuild phase. Really like Coach Rolovich being brutally honest in his demand for competition, that is the only path to improvement. Really looking for a few good signs for some of the OL currently “on the roster” to ascend. You have the returning starters and Norman and Taylor in the mix but there are a bunch of guys at the third and fourth level……..looking for one or two to show up. Heard along time ago “if a dog gonna bite they’ll do it as a pup”. See if we got a dog or two in the group-

  24. cappie the dog March 3, 2017 7:24 am

Twelve games is smarter than adding a second FCS school just for the sake of playing the full compliment of games.

    No Boise.

Depending on how the season is going, that’s either cause for jubilation or disappointment.

Wow. An actual bye after the UCLA trip. No Madison to Boise-type “jaunt”. Going directly to Laramie has the potential of derailing the season, a compounding of injuries.

    Thanks Craig Thompson.

On another note, amazing baseball road win. Maybe they changed their hitting philosophy. Instead of working the count, Hawaii batters hit the first good pitch they saw.

  25. cappie the dog March 3, 2017 7:26 am

    C’mon, NCAA!!!!

We can’t have the same one-season post-season ban as PENN STATE FOOTBALL!!!

    IT MAKE NO SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. burro sabio March 3, 2017 8:36 am

    On football scoops:
Keith Uperesa to Eastern Illinois as OL coach.
Fresno poaches new San Jose State DL coach to replace Tony.

  27. Inyoface March 3, 2017 8:48 am

Never saw UH play in Vegas yet surprisingly, hopefully I can check it out this year.

  28. clyde March 3, 2017 9:14 am

Postseason ban lifted; 1 of 2 scholarships restored. What took you so long, NCAA?
