JC back joins Warriors

The top running back from the 2015 national champions has joined the Warriors.

Elijah Dale will participate in spring practice, which opens on Monday.

Dale, who is 5-10 and 210 pounds, was City College of San Francisco’s featured back in 2015. An injury limited him to one carry in the 2015 title game.

Dale was named to the All-City first team as a senior at San Francisco’s Saint Ignatius School.

Nice how much eligibility does he have left? Is he a walk on?

  2. Andrew February 15, 2017 9:45 am

Hopefully their success was built on their run game

    Top V

Need good RBs in this kinda of offense, I like how Rolo is building his program.

    Monday soon be here…

Looks like he redshirted last season so he should have three years to play two. As freshman, he ended up the #2 rusher on the 2015 team but looks like he became bigger part of the offense as the season moved into conference play. Hope the injury didn’t reduce his potential … if not, he sounds like a great catch.

Looks like he might be a sophomore with three years to play three… Hopefully

Great job in getting a very good rb. He is a north south runner and very strong legs. Welcome to the Warriors, Elijah Dale.

Just watched his highlight video. Wow! So we just need the OL to create the running holes for Elijah Dale, Diocemy St Juste, Freddie Holly III, Mel Davis, Ryan Tuiasoa and Miles Reed.

Per HUDL, Elijah Dale has three years to play two.

  9. H-Man February 15, 2017 11:32 am

    I forgot Hekili Keliiliki,

Looks good! Welcome to the Warriors!

Gonna be lots of competition at QB and RB – tremendous depth too!

  11. Derek February 15, 2017 11:51 am

You can never have enough quality RBs. It’s a position that players get injured a lot. Ankles, knees, shoulders, hip pointers, concussions, etc. because of the pounding they take from tacklers that are trying to strip the ball out. So they take a lot of hard hits. Thus, you need very good depth back there and some versatility too. If 5 or 6 RBs can play, that’s a good thing. That’s a position that a freshman can easily be a freshman.

  12. Derek February 15, 2017 11:53 am

Oops, meant freshman can be a starter.

Elijah and his chariot of fire—
    The whole UH team.
Looks like lots of thunder and lightning
    Rolo doing a good job.

Just renewed my season tickets. Prices actually went down for some reason in the South End zone. In any case, the money saved goes back to Koa Anuenue as part of my game day parking pass.

How is the D-Line shaping up?

  16. Derek February 15, 2017 2:14 pm

To generate more interest in the program and sell more season’s tickets I would suggest a rolling depth chart during spring practices realizing that the depth chart is a very fluid thing and would move based on how practices are going. Nothing is etched in stone. I would like to see at least a four deep depth chart.

Nice get! Is Dale a walk-on? Or blue or gray shirt?

  18. Shoichi February 15, 2017 2:57 pm

Dale is a Junior with 2 years to play 2. He played his Freshman and Sophomore years but redshirted this past season in what would have been his Junior season that was an injury RS.

Rolo is loading up on RBs. Holly, DSJ, Keliiliki, Davis, Tuiasoa, and now Dale. Team will definitely have no shortage of quality RBs.

Seems to have good center of gravity and cuts well, but does not have top end speed. He seems to be capable in pass pro which is very important, and can catch passes.

    18. You forgot our prized recruit Miles Reed.

He looks like another nice addition.

Interesting that Ferd Lewis’ article today seems to say that Farrington’s new football field cost $20M for a 4,000-4,5000 seating capacity. They clearly didn’t think small when they put their plan together and pitched it.

  23. H-Man February 15, 2017 8:00 pm

The key point in Ferd’s article is not the cost of the field, or the size of the field, but that the Farrington Governors “never” had a field to play their home games. Instead, their home games were played at the old Honolulu Stadium, then Aloha Stadium and at Roosevelt and Kamehameha schools’ fields. Finally in 2017, the Govs have their own home football field. Now this makes we wonder how long it will take the state to complete their commitment to air condition the 1,000 or so classrooms? 2067? Yes, a bit cynical, but if the state has to boost teachers’ salaries to match the national average pay for public school teachers, there might not be enough money to go around to complete the classroom air conditioning program anytime soon, especially when the state is projecting a shortfall in tax collections.

I went to McKinley and one of our biggest football rivals was Farrington back then. Gained a great respect for Farrington football over the years, and I am happy they finally got a first class field. The Pride of Kalihi… and I still remember the horns and drums of the Farrington band playing the driving Peter Gunn theme in Honolulu stadium.
