According to Kevin Wong via volleytalk, Scott Wong didn’t apply to the head coaching position at UH.

“Finally got a chance to talk to my brother, Scott Wong, today and he confirmed what I had suspected, that he did not apply for this possible job post. Scott just started at Pepperdine 2 years ago and feels he has a lot of work to do at his alma mater. He had a great run working at University of Hawaii learning from a living legend but is happy where he is.”

Has Rosenmeir taken Matautia’s starting position?

  10. Ki February 14, 2017 9:00 pm

Gsky…. He sure is. Consistent passing and better attack percentage.

    Hasn’t the job posting expired?

Cindy, do you have any idea who applied?

    RE: Scott Wong

When interviewed on the most important thing he learned from Shoji he said that sometimes things work themselves out if you don’t do anything.

Give him credit for sticking with Pepperdine. He lost almost a half dozen players when he took over (they transferred). He should do okay now that he is a student of the game.

I thank Scott on following up my recommendation to set Nikki with the D set. (Although Shoji did heed my advice to play Nikki at Opposite her sophomore year.) 2015 was a gift to Shoji, albeit his last.
