Kemp will train in Hawaii

Wideout Marcus Kemp is moving back to Hawaii to attend classes and train for the Warriors’ pro day in March.

Kemp completed his UH eligibility at the end of the Hawaii Bowl, finishing 2016 with team highs in receptions (73), receiving yards (1,100) and TD catches (8). He also made three tackles on special teams.

Kemp, who never redshirted, needs 20 credits to earn a degree in economics.

After weighing several options, he decided to return to Manoa for the spring semester, where he will take 12 credits — two on-line classes, two in-class courses — while training. He is deciding between Tactical Strength and Chad Ikei for his training.

Kemp remains on football scholarship. He said he chose to train in Hawaii partly because quarterback Ikaika Woolsey is still living in Hawaii. Woolsey completed his UH eligibility at the end of Hawaii Bowl. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology and family resources last month.

“I know Ikaika will be there, so it’ll be easy to throw,” Kemp said. “And, also, I did want to finish school. The easiest route is to stay in Hawaii.”

Getting a good education is where the “smart money” is at.
Good move by Kemp. I wish him all the success. Ikaika, as well.

    Guud Morning Tsaikos…Bootiful Day!

Mr. Kemp, this is what it’s about. Getting that degree then getting a spot on the roster. The spot is not guaranteed. The degree can’t be taken back. Unless you have on from UNC. LOL….not sure if those who graduated from UNC and took those bogus classes will have their degrees rescinded.

Anyhoo, waiting for more recruiting news! This is like waiting for the ketchup to come out!

    Good move, Marcus Kemp!
Getting your degree is running the smarter route since it is a guaranteed future–especially if you are still on scholarship.

Kemp’s head is on straight. Priority is getting that degree. Wish him the best.

That’s a lot of credits to be short after hitting the eligibility clock. Wonder if he changed majors.

Getting down to the final weeks in the recruiting year, looking for great things in the next week or so. Keeping up with MW outlook it appears UNLV just flipped an OL from SJSU. So far no other commits in the conference as of today-let’s get our fair share. GoWarriors!!!!!

Marcus doesn’t seem to be that far behind schedule if he’s 8 credit short of graduating after this spring. He didn’t redshirt.
