  14. islandman January 6, 2017 8:11 pm

Matautia and Gasman look good, so far. So does Charlie, who lost weight from walking his whippet mix dog from the Humane Society, per Kanoa.

    UH up 8-3. TO Princeton.

    uh wins 25-11

  21. Cindy Luis January 6, 2017 8:43 pm

    19. he did. would not be surprised if he gets moved there and Rado to Opp at some point. Rado didn’t play, bruised knee.

  22. kahuna January 6, 2017 9:07 pm

Having Stijn play left allows UH to maybe matchup with some of the bigger teams in the league.
Potential front line of 6-8 Van Tilburg….6-10 Gasman…and 6-9 Puruponov. We might need that kind of size to try and stop BYU’s Ben Patch

  23. Kauaiboy January 6, 2017 9:10 pm

Hawaii is loaded, once MPSF play starts who sits out ? Can they run a 2 setter offense so we have 3 hitters up front at all times ? I like Van Tilburg on the left but who’s place does he take ? I’m assuming Austin will sit since Fey is a proven passer…

  24. Warriorfan January 6, 2017 9:28 pm

Ucla, byu, long beach are also loaded
We will need the depth in mpsf play. think in the past Coach Wade would hesistate to play backups when the starting outsides struggled hope that’s not the case this year.

  25. Warriorfan January 6, 2017 9:31 pm

Streaming not available from ocsports? Hope that changes so the players parents and mainland fans can see the matches.

  26. Cindy Luis January 6, 2017 9:51 pm

    25. streaming was supposed to be available tonight. wasn’t it?

  27. Cindy Luis January 6, 2017 9:53 pm

    23. we’ll see what happens. some dicussion that Fey moves to libero in some situations depending on the OHs and how the passing goes. Matautia isn’t the best passer out there but still a freshman.

  28. Warriorfan January 7, 2017 12:37 am

I love the idea of Kupono at libero, his passing is always on point and we can try Stijn, Brandon, Tui, James or Brett at his outside spot whoever is on fire that day, it is nice to have options.

I would love to see Worsley at libero too since he is a digging machine but he’s too valuable as a setter.

noticed they were discussing Tui’s eligibility on tv? Not sure why since he should be considered a redshirt sophomore and not a junior. Would hate for him to lose a year and be declared a junior.

I noticed a ball state fan on volleytalk complaining about lack of streaming hope that fan was wrong and they stream the UH matches for mainland fans.

  29. Ron January 7, 2017 9:11 am

You have to keep Tui on the floor at some position. His leadership and skills just radiate through the TV. We all saw Rolo lurking at the match. I am sure that he would like to have the best athlete in the school playing football and I don’t blame him. I also agree Fey would make a great libero as would Worsely.

  30. noblesol January 7, 2017 11:12 am

#29 Re Tui, I wasn’t expecting much right away. But from the first moment you see him play, there’s no doubt he’s gifted and capable of not just making the difficult look ridiculously easy, but capable of the impossible play that no one else could make. He’s going to make a mistake here and there, but there’s no doubt he helps give the whole team a lift, and some swagger, and an easy, natural tough as nails leadership.

  31. tongo January 7, 2017 11:47 am

Congrats to Deitre! Met her at a church one sunday and she was wonderful.

  32. islandman January 7, 2017 3:56 pm

    Free tacos tonight ?

  33. Cindy Luis January 7, 2017 4:16 pm

http://hawaiiwarriorworld.com/?p=40966 new thread up for Saturday
    28. there was no streaming for the 4 p.m. matches, supposed to be only UH’s when televised
    29. Rolovich wasn’t lurking. he was there to support volleyball. Stephen had a story 2 weeks ago about the FB interest in Tuileta.
and, yes, don’t know why there’s a question of eligibility. he’s a redshirt sophomore. played as a true freshman in 15, sat out last season.
32 Always free tacos if there is a sweep, men’s or women’s
